Dangerous product, do not buy!!!!

published

Bought the 5-star chef bread maker from ebay two years ago. this morning, I heard an explosive noise from my pantry, found the touch control glass was cracked into pieces, which spreaded over surround area.

Let's assume that, the glass exploded when you looked through the window next to it, the flying broken pieces could hit your eyes, your face, how bad could the situation be?

There're still many products from 5-star chef on the market, particularly on ebay, don't buy the brand, which could endanger your life.

Purchased in January 2021 at eBay for $119.00.

First us was great

Brand new and used for first time today.. perfect loaf. Used Lauke Soy and linseed, used 800gm, 2tbs caster sugar, 3 tbsp olive oil, tsp salt, 1 sachet yeast. Set to 8, dark crust for 750gm loaf. A little, over 3 hours a perfect loaf. Reading other reviews, I must add that this is a first use, need to see if it continues to work as good as the first time. So far so good.

a big metal heap of junk

Before buying this machine, I asked if it had a Gluten Free setting. Definitely YES .

Was in hospital for months and didn"t even think of it for couple of months. Finally tried and NO GF setting. Have tried every setting I thought would be much the same, a lot of expensive GF and other ingredients in the bin.
A heap of junk

Contacted the company never replied.
Probably a waste of time trying for a refund but will make the effort

Buyer beware!

published

Be wary of 5 Star Chef! Bread maker had been used approx a dozen times before tripping safety switch. Was definitely this appliance that caused safety switch to trip nothing else as it happened 3 times before I threw it out. No where can I find a company called "5 Star Chef" probably some piece of junk made in india/China that makes total rubbish. Do the maths it's actually cheaper to buy bread!

How can I get a replacement paddle?

I think most paddles on eBay and available to purchase seem to have the same connection with a flat part one side and round on the other...If it was me, I would buy one that seems the same length and see if it fits.

If that didn't work, I think I dont think you will have much luck, unless you go to The Good Guys and see if they can help.

Does anyone know how to get a replacement paddle? I've ordered generic replacements on EBAY, but they don't fit.

Our trusty machine had been working well but today when we plugged it in, it keeps tripping the electricity off. Any suggestions?

Hi Margie, sorry, I cannot offer and advice. Seems like a fault with the switching.

Ok thanks. We purchased it in Dec 2017 and was wondering if it would still be under warranty or not as it doesn’t give details of this in the accompanying booklet?
