Online Store, Physical StoreI got what I was looking for . Friendly service from confident, experienced personnel.
I was looking for particular inner tubes with car valves and found them straight away with no fuss or confusion . The assistant was helpful as soon as I walked in the door.

Helped a little boy with a busted BMX
My twelve-year-old boy had a BMX with a buckled chain and a few other problems. We got to the workshop door in Bondi Junction and were told, because of the sudden rush of biz due to COVID and everyone wanting bikes, we'd have to wait until Monday to get the bike looked at. The mechanic asked what was wrong, we told him, and he said he'd fix it on the spot. Took him ten minutes or so. While he was working I watched the other mechanics all diligently, and expertly, fixing bikes. When the bike was ready, I handed him my credit card. He waved it away. Legend. Kid stoked. Bike fixed. Free.

Best customer service
After going to every bike store in Canberra, we were blown away by the fantastic customer service at Mitchell. Great advice was given and nothing was too much trouble, they spent heaps of time answering all our questions. At some stores we visited, staff did not want to be bothered with us and looked annoyed and impatient when we asked questions. That was their loss as we bought two great bikes at Mitchell. Will never go anywhere else.

Poor customer service experience
My wife purchased her bike at 99 bikes years ago, so went back when she wanted a kids seat for our baby to ride with her. After showing a staff member photos of her bike, she was sold the wrong model rack for her bike, which didnt fit. I took it back and exchanged it for another model. I still couldn't get it to fit after following the instructions, so took it back again. After waiting 25mins to see a staff member, I was told that "they fit every bike". When I asked if they could show me how to fit it correctly, I was told "not today mate". The...Read more
staff member actually suggested trying using one fastener instead of two (as per the instructions) on the under seat brackets to increase their effective length. I was then directed around to the mechanic, who was also quite dismissive "you just have to try different combinations of brackets to get it to fit, good luck". His tone was condescending. I ended up getting the baby seat rack to fit the bike only after using a combination of parts that went against what the instrruction booklet said (the mechanic's suggestion). I understand that the staff concerned were busy, but that's no reason to be dismissive and/or rude to your customers.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Rubbish
I waited to receive some customer service. Another bloke rolls in his bike and the staff member looks at me and gives a halfhearted apology and bolted to the bike guy. Went to a competitor, a few doors down, and walked away happy as a pig in poo

Worst service in history
I would not recommend people to the Marion 99 bikes outlet !!!! We have had 2 terrible experiences there .
Last year we wanted to purchase my daughter a new mountain bike and choose 99 bikes Marion to look for a bike, initially our experience in choosing a bike went well and we paid a deposit to return just before her birthday to pick up the bike !!! I even called a day before to make sure the bike would be ready, when I arrived none of the chosen accessories had been fitted and the bike was not ready !!! Then then couldn’t find any of the i...Read more

Faulty Product
I purchase 2 Continental Grand Prix 4000s 2 700x25c road cycling tyres, 1 if fitted straight away and the other I kept as a spare, these retailed for $85, club price $58.
After approx 12 months I went to fit the second tyre only to find it had a faulty carcass, I rode on it once and it had an annoying flat spot, I took it back in the original box with their 99 Bike label affixed to see what they were prepared to do.
After 2 weeks, no call, so I dropped back, no answer, 3 phone calls later, 3 more visits and still no offer on a replacement/credi...Read more

Very Helpful and Friendly Staff.
Needed a replacement Topeak mount for my front mudguards and was advised to go to 99 Bikes. My local is Ipswich and I was very happy with the service given to firstly locate the necessary part and then to place an order for one. Part arrived instore in 4 days and I was contacted on the day it arrived.
Needless to say I continue to go back to my Ipswich store as I keep getting top quality service.

Go to Lidcombe and ask for Wan! The Sales Consultant that put me before profit and may have saved my life.
Bare with me. This is a review of 99 bikes that has taken me over a week to write. Namely because the Sales Consultant Wan (from the Lidcombe store)in some ways could get in trouble for this. He broke company protocol/policies/processes and they are there for a reason. They help the shop run smoothly and this means it is easier for the team to help us the customers. It also helps them pay the bills and bottom line in retail is critical. Despite this, Wan is the Sales Consultant that threw this all out the window because he isn't a sheep. He had...Read more
the guts to put his neck on the line, probably get in trouble and upset his coworkers for a complete stranger that was throwing a wobbly in the middle of the shop. Go because he is a legend and shake his hand. He is the type of Sales Consultant that is focussed on what you need, that's it. I'll never forget him. He has cemented my loyalty to 99 bikes for good and if they have awards for Employee of the Year, he gets my vote as a customer. So what did he do? I'm almost 50, never driven a car and just got myself a bicycle to get from A to B which I managed to stack before I had even paid for it. The right handbrake didn't work, my bike had been gathering dust and I was wasting money on Ubers. I was determined to get it fixed. This was last Saturday in Western Sydney when it was BLISTERINGLY hot. Bikes are rarely welcome on buses and without a car my only option to get it fixed was to ride it to a store. I live in Merrylands and decided Lidcombe was the safest, flatest route with less Pedestrians to ride a busted bike as an absolute beginner. I braved the scorching heat and set out naively. It was a grueling ride and I had to walk a lot of the way for my own safety and that of others. Even stopping the bike to get on an off was a shakey affair and I almost came off a few times and horrified or amused many motorists. I finally arrived at Lidcombe shaking. Relief and pride that I had done it, in heat worthy of the reception room too Hell and without injury to others or myself.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

The worst service and trade ethics so far!!
Be warned... no professionals behind their online stores yet to experience in store service, so far the precedence doesn’t project a positive experience.
Was recommended by a friend and ordered 6 items and accessories online, received emails stating the items were wrongly advertised and are no longer available.. with a 10% disc voucher. Used the voucher and ordered more items assuming they would’ve corrected stock error to yet receive another email stating those are not available with another 10% voucher obsolete systems and frustrated with the service...take your business to somewhere reliable.

Very poor customer service
Online technician told me wrong advice resulting in an incorrect purchase. Went into Preston store to buy additional item to rectify the situation (having checked online that the shop had the item in stock). Told in advance by a little brat they wouldn't be helping me install it(rack for a baby seat), no apology, then told they didn't actually have it in stock, no apologies, a real attitude when I asked for one to be bought in from another store over the next week (he wanted me to drive a further 15km across town to find one), then as I was li...Read more
terally driving away he approached my car to say I had to leave a deposit in order for the other store to send the rack. Who does this? I said I wouldn't because I don't trust that it will necessarily fit my bike, I will pay once I see it installed in-store to make sure it fits, especially because one of their technicians caused this f-up in the first place... He didn't seem phased when I said I would go elsewhere. Incredibly rude. Won't be dealing with 99 bikes again would rather more more elsewhere.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad service, front line staff helpful, thats where it ends.
my bike felt worse after the service, gears seemed wrong, took the bike back next day, bike repairer was very rude and obviously didnt think anything was wrong, He kept the bike overnight when I picked up the bike, it was still not fixed, took my bike to another bike shop, they fixed the problem and 45 mins later only charged me $45.00. Stay away from the rip off shop.

Made my first purchase with 99 Bikes
Made my first purchase with 99 Bikes online - and I unable to aptly describe the ease of the buy. Then, when I arrived at the store to pick up my new bike, again, it was the simplest of transactions. Their prices were by far the best. Without a doubt, I will be back and will absolutely recommend them to my friends who haven't yet bought through them. 10/5 stars!!

Average customer service
We bought a Petal bike for our daughter from Santa for Xmas. It broke by 9am Xmas day resulting in a fairly disappointed girl, however we went to the shop Boxing Day & they upgraded the bike to a Mongoose, which was on sale, so we didn’t have any further issues, but since this was the bike we were deciding between before Xmas a little disappointed we weren’t pointed in this direction originally.
