I fill mine with only three inches of water in the tank and a cup of water in the bottom well, with the essential oils, filling it more than half way puts to much weight on the release valve located at bottom of tank, .therefore it overflows. the tank is too large for this kind of set up., Only fill tank with 1 third of water,, you should have no problems

The vapour is making everything around it damp in the bedroom, is there a way to lessen the output? I have found it works well for my dry nose and mouth but I do not want my bedroom to feel damp?

I've never experienced dampness. There is a dial though that you can turn to 'min' to have less steam coming out.

I tend to just use damp paper towel and wipe ot our well, especially the bottom where the essential oils can build up.

Thank you very much, Renee. I shall do that. It's so easy, compared to other humidifiers I have had and had to clean!

Is there any way to fix the buttons? The functions are all messed up. The night lamp button is now the ON/operating button, so both the actual ON/operating button AND the anion operating button doesn't work. No more night lamp (or colours) either. I can only turn it on intermittently (press once) or continuously (press twice) using the night lamp button, with no other functions. But no leaks, and the mist is fine too. This happened after the THIRD night of usage.

I have the same issue! Second night in and there’s water now leaking from the base of the unit? Like.. overflowing. Nowhere does it say to empty the base after each use or how much water needs to be put it, or even a ‘max fill’ line! What.

Dawn G
Dawn G

This unit does not use water. That is why it is leaking. I don't know a lot about the unit yet but I did find that out. Empty it. But you may have to buy a new one.

Yes remove lid from small oil compartment located near mist nozzle add a few drops of essential oil into White powder contained in the compartment replace lid by clicking into place & turn over tank fill the top water tank with distilled water or a bottle of purified water not more than 1.2 litre as water will overflow at the base of tank & screw lid properly. turn over tank adjust to base of humidifier ensure arrow located near nozzle is facing forward above dial strength & light switch

I brought the ABLE vapourmist today and it says to press the power button so I did and it’s ment to be blue we’ll its coming up as red?

The red light comes on when it first starts up. It is trying to suck the water into the system. There could be other reasons, but am not sure. It may be best to look at the manual.

I've jus,t purchased this tonight from the chemist, and have put the essential oil in the aroma case, but can't see how that works as the mist doesn't go through it in any way! How do you get it to work? Not impressed with it so far.

Hi there
It doesn't work and Able Asthma and the pharmacy I purchased it from refuse to exchange it for me. The product is ineffective and the essential oil compartment is a gimmick.
So sorry it happened to you too.

gillegan

The product that is the subject of these reviews doesn't have an "aroma case". The VapourMist Humidifier does but it is a different product to the Ultrasonic Vaporiser. You can see the difference on the ableasthma.com.au website.

Hi there
There is a tiny, unusable section at the top of the humidifier - no different to placing the oil in a dish in the room, as it does not diffuse with the water. It's false advertising, really, as putting the oil in this section serves no use in helping clear congestion, as a normal humidifier with essential oil would.
Cheers

I didn't think this product was like the Vicks Vaporiser, where the water vapour carries the menthol or eucalyptus or whatever into the air and into your sinuses for decongestion during a cold, I thought that the Able Vaporiser was simply to add moisture to dry air (such as during winter), to prevent the type of asthma that is triggered by cold dry air and to lessen the chances of your mucous membranes becoming too dry (which leaves you vulnerable to developing a cold etc).
I think you can add a drop or two of essential oil to the water to spread the fragrance, but that's about it.

I am looking to replace the small plastic piece that sits on top of the clear plastic top of the unit. Also cannot find our white cord that plugs into the wall. Wondering what amp it is and whether both can be purchased as replacement parts? Thank you :)

For the cord, try asking Jaycar Electronics, they are specialists in all things electronic.
If you can't find a spare 'top', I can't imagine they'd sell them, try cutting a cork.

A few months ago I misplaced our cord and contacted the head office who were happy to post out a replacement cord. However as I needed it quite urgently just drove to their office and purchased one directly for $10 I recall.

How do you stop it from leaking! Is there a certain button to press, or putting it on max makes it leak more ?

Mine leaks too. I was told at the chemist it doesn't even use water! The lid is not a good fit, fiddle around until you have the lid exactly in place, even then mine leaks.

Baz
Baz

If you have the able vapourmist Humidifier then it does not need more than 2 bottles of 600ml purified or distilled water bottles it will keep running for approximately 7-8hours until it is out of water or the water is low by switching off the night light & vapour mist automatically the power indicator then turns from blue to red meaning it needs water to function..

Does anyone find that the able asthma ultrasonic vaporiser is a little noisey when operating? I'm trying to work out if mine is a little faulty or if this is the way they are. I bought it for my kids room and they say it's too noisey to fall asleep. I have to agree as I have it on now and I can hear it easily. I have about 8 dusk diffusers which you cannot tell are even on. Would love some feedback so I can work out whether to take it back to where I bought it or whether this is normal for this unit

Mine is noisy too. Very irritating, why would you want to turn on a noise maker next to where you're trying to sleep? Or anywhere else?

nicky18
nicky18

I ended up calling up the company and they basically said what do I expect, the motor is running so it will make some noise but they never get complaints about it. I ended up buying 2 of the latest dusk diffusers which run up to 16 hours. And dusk diffusers never make any noise. I love dusk!!!!

Baz

Needs to be placed on a flat water resistant surface so I would place it on a tray with the tray on a coffee table. I wouldn't fill it up all the way, if you want the able vapour mist humidifier to operate for 6-8 hours I would use 2 water purified bottles it's more than enough, when the water is reduced it will turn off the night light & vapourmist & the power light will change from blue to red until you refill the unit with water again but unplug before you take the water tank off the base. Ensure that the water tank has its lid screwed closed properly before turning over and attaching it to the base unit. The water tank needs to be fitted correctly to the base unit, the water tank has an arrow on top under the mist nuzzle to direct you to fit the top water tank to the base unit correctly to face the front where the power button & dial is located. Put the vapour mist dial strength on the middle between Max & low strength to prevent leakage. Once you decide where to place the vapourmist unit you can not move it if the water tank has water in it, I find moving the tank cause water to leak to the base of the unit & may over flow. So decide the location of where you want to use the product before attaching the filled water tank. Once it turns off turn the dial to off, unplug & remove the top tank from the base, you will find water in the base unit, it's easier to empty the water that flowed into the base into a bowl before moving the whole unit; To refill or to clean & pack away..

Don't use water in it. On the front where the Power Button is mine says Power / Waterless so I am quite sure it is not meant to hold water. That is why those that put water in it find leaks. Mine had no instructions on the box and I am not sure if instructions came with it. It has been open for some time but unused so any instructions may have been lost.
