ActronAir ESP Plus SRA190C (18.2kW, Three Phase)

Great cooling and heating but single control panel
We moved into a house that had Actron Air ducted system with 3 zones and a single control panel.
It seems that the system has been there for a few years.
We would have loved if there was an option to set a different temperature for zones/outlets
Purchased in May 2021.

Utter Cool bliss
These guys have thought of everything!! This aircon was money well spent. It has individual panels for each zone and DOESNT WASTE ELECTRICITY!!!! This is just heaven as you know by having it on just in the kids rooms for nap times in the middle of the day its not going to waste electricity. I love that it is wifi and I can turn it on while shopping so i get home and its nice and cool. Very handy on hot Queensland days with grumpy kids and husbands in tow.

NOISY - buy another brand
I really don't write reviews but I am so frustrated with this expensive unreliable noisy air conditioning unit that I felt the need to tell others.
We have persevered with this unit for years and have pretty much given up.
It's so noisy - we have had Actron out on a number of occasions and had nothing but excuses from inexperienced young mechanics. It is obvious from my experience and all the other reviews here that Actron units have a serious problem with noise.
Further to that, it has proved to be seriously unreliable. Every year when we go to start it all the electrics have died and we need to get an expensive service call simply to stop the unit again.

Really bad system and customer service, creating issues under the 5 year warranty
Called for service as the display was showing E9 constantly as an error and also loud clicking noises in all the rooms where ducts are when unit turned on for half an hour. Was charged by Actron for $165, they explained that the return air ducts, 1 totally collapsed( probably due to someone walking on it) and 1 functioning at 50%. They didn't fix the clicking noise and advised that a quote would be sent in 3 days. Quote came back for $839 and so we got another company to repair and replace return air ducts for $300! The new repairer advised tha...Read more
t the return air duct had clearly been cut(dodgy) and there's no way it would have been caused by someone walking on it as there's plenty of space in the roof so there's no reason why someone would have to walk on the return air duct. Since the ducts were replaced, E9 error still shows and the clicking noise still persists. For a system that's under 5 years old and giving problems, would definitely go for another brand and to think they might have done something dodgy just does not give me any confidence in the Actron business. Will definitely lodge a complaint with ACCC to prevent other customers from being ripped off.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Worst air conditioner ever
Ever since I built my house in 2010 I have had nothing but problems with this ducted air conditioner . I have had The installers Pact heating & cooling out every year since I have had it and it fails every year when we need it the most . We gave the same issue every year where it just starts blowing warm air, they add more coolant and say see how it goes & then it lasts for the rest of the summer & the next year the same thing happens ! Now of course it's out of warranty & I have to pay to fix the same problem it had when it was first insta...Read more
lled . Acton came out to have a look and two years ago & said nothing was wrong . Well I tell you when it's hotter inside than outside with the air conditioner on full there is an issue !! this thing cost me nearly $14k when I built the house & it has only given me grief & the after sales service just want a quick fix & get out & now Pact are saying perhaps get someone else !! It is the worst experience I have had on s major purchase & hope no one else has to go trough the same especially with a young family in this heat !!Similar opinion? my father-in law has a SRD190C, 3 phase, 18.60 kw.
the unit has worked well for over 4 years that I know of, but every time I visit I listen the outside unit and it sounds as if it is short cycling, don't know it this is a inverter type, but I am used to inverter types ramping up and down, this unit sound as if it is cutting in and out several times a minute, is this normal, all filters are regularly clean and as I said it works very well in Tamworth with 40 degree temperatures. my question is why does the outside unit sound as if it is short cycling? any info would be apricated.

Hi Wayne,
What you're describing with the compressor motor tonal change up and down if perfectly normal operation for the ESP systems. The compressor motor is a digital scroll compressor which loads and unloads the motor to achieve 10-100% capacity control, rather than speeding up and down the motor like an inverter system.
If you'd like to know more, give our Technical Support team a call on 1800 119 229 and they can run you through it.
Thanks,
Catherine

Only 4 of my 8 zone lights work on my Actron Air conditioner and I reset to factory settings and now only 2 work. Can anyone tell me the solution please.

I am an Actron system owner. I have not experienced any problem with zone lights not working; however, I note that the Actron FAQ age includes the following:
12. Resetting of blank zones following a power outage
If you do not have any zone lights (or zones 3 and 4 lights are not lit up), please do the following:
1. Switch main air conditioning circuit breaker off for 1 minute.
2. Switch back on and walk to the wall controller.
3. Press zone buttons 1 to 4 in order, one after the other.
Your zones should now be re-activated.
I note that these instructions require the circuit breaker to be shut off for a minute not just the power switch on the control panel.
I don't have a background in air conditioning systems but I do have an engineering background. If the FAQ reset doesn't work, my guess is that you have a fault in the control panel that is not software related which means resetting to factory settings is not likely to solve the problem. I suspect you may have no alternative but to go back to the company that installed the system and, depending on the age of the system, you may be able to obtain a warranty repair. The other option is to contact Actron direct but they might simply refer you to an authorised dealer. Actron is a wholly owned Australian company located in Norwest Business park in Sydney so, if the system isn't too old, there is every chance spare parts will be available.
Thanks for your feedback. I will give it a go, but it is just unfortunate that it is a public holiday. I think I will try It once it isn't so hot, because at least now I have two working. If I lose it all it won't be good.
It is very easy to reactivate. Just call ActronAir Customer Support on 1800 119 229. Great people to deal with and very helpful.
