I have an Actron Air ESP approximately 7 years old. It is displaying E9 and won’t let out cool air. Does this mean the filter needs cleaning?

Hi, this could have many reasons but not the filter. Could be the soft starter or more. It threw my ESP out and replaced it with a Daikan. Much better quality and cheaper. I had nothing but problems with it. It was a money trap.

my father-in law has a SRD190C, 3 phase, 18.60 kw.
the unit has worked well for over 4 years that I know of, but every time I visit I listen the outside unit and it sounds as if it is short cycling, don't know it this is a inverter type, but I am used to inverter types ramping up and down, this unit sound as if it is cutting in and out several times a minute, is this normal, all filters are regularly clean and as I said it works very well in Tamworth with 40 degree temperatures. my question is why does the outside unit sound as if it is short cycling? any info would be apricated.

Hi Wayne,

What you're describing with the compressor motor tonal change up and down if perfectly normal operation for the ESP systems. The compressor motor is a digital scroll compressor which loads and unloads the motor to achieve 10-100% capacity control, rather than speeding up and down the motor like an inverter system.

How can you sort my neighbours Actron air conditioner on the property line where all our bedrooms are that thuds on and off every 11 seconds or so and is gradually driving me insane. It has been reported to Council and was found to be outside noise limits. Supposed fix has not sorted it. Neighbour is uninterested in our plight. Your air conditioner unit with the compressor thudding on and off is wholly unsuited to anywhere with neighbours in a 5 km radius.

To have a Service technician attend site to inspect the unit and any possible causes, we would need the owner to contact us with some details and to arrange a time to access the unit. I understand from your message that they may not be interested in doing this.

They also have the option of contacting our Technical Support team to troubleshoot any issues over the phone. They can contact our Technical Support on 1800 119 229 (National 8am-5pm AEDT) or email [email protected] at a time that suits them. We will just need them to provide their contact details and the serial number of the outdoor unit.

If the issue can't be resolved over the phone and will need a technician to attend the property, this can be arranged over phone/email also.

If your neighbour knows it will just take a phone call or email to get the ball rolling, they may be more inclined to help out and then we can take it from there.

Installed 6 years back. The Soft starter replaced already few times. Soft starter Ss9 always blows out. Very very unhappy.

Hi there
We have an Actron LM24 ducted aircon that is almost 7 years old.
From time to time it would display E9 error code, but if turned off then on again it would work perfectly fine. However this last week it wont start up at all, and is displaying E9. Yes filters are clean! Any suggestions?

Could you please let me know what fault code P8 10.4 is ? Air con was left on when we end to bed and running all day, woke up to AC off and Saftey switch/circuit breaker tripped off.

We had our air con installed last November. The cooling is fantastic but the heating is awful. The cheap plastic round vents creak and pop because they are expanding and when the unit gets turned off, it takes around 40 mins to contract with the creaking and popping. We haven't had it on because it drives us nuts. Anyone else with this problem?

The type of supply outlets installed to your system is determined by the installer. We advised to firstly try and get in contact with them and have them look into the issue. Hi, I had the ESP installed 3 weeks ago and the filter sign has come on so I checked the filter doesnt seem to need cleaning but I cant slide the filter out of the grill, there seems to be two screws half way up are your filters screwed in? My old one just slid out.

Hi, I am seeking some assistance in choosing between the ESP-Plus or the ESP-Ultima.
I understand that different rooms can be controlled at different temperatures with the Ultima but I am not overly interested in this feature and would prefer to save money and buy the Plus - however I am unsure if it can do what we are after.
I am more interested in multiple sensors holding the temperature throughout the house. For example, we want to be able to zone the master bedroom and only have this one zone/vent on, but not be blasted with cold air with the door closed/ being away from the return vent at the end of the house.
Is it possible to add sensors to the Plus model to achieve this?

Hi, If I buy a remote controller for my AM24 Actron Air conditioner will it work. Just moved in to a new (pre loved) house about 9 years old and there is only one controller and it's up stairs. Any suggestions.

Hi, I have an Actron SRD191C and the compressor has failed after 5 years and it has just gone out of warranty. I would think a compressor would last longer. The repair man quoted $3000 to fix the compressor. Is that a correct quote? Can I get it fixed cheaper? I'm in Perth, WA.

Bad timing with your air going out in the middle of summer. I feel for you.
Although I am only a happy customer and not an a/c technician I woulx sughest the following:
1. Contact Actron directly. A phone call to one of the helpful technical staff maysave you some money. I reckon they a very decent people with regards to their warranty. Worth a try.
2. Get a few quotes. I know it is hot and you want it fixed but so do they guys in the shop.
3. SRD191C is a single phase unit. Did you read my post about the 3 phase being more reliable.
4. If I had my time again i would have instaledl a Platinum model - tru inverter - less noise than our ESP model. Not sure about its reliability though.
Hope you are able to get things sorted over there in WA. Please let me know how it goes.

i have the actron esp system and two of the zones have stopped working, no faults showing and still lit on the controller. tried an IT approach of switching off and on but no joy. anyone had a similar experience/solution? only installed 2 years ago.

Let me say at the start that i am not technician.
Just a satisfied customer.
May i suggest that:
1. Controller may need replacing
2. Loose connection between contoller and zone valve.
3. Faulty zone valve.
You will need a tecnichian to work this out.

The model I reviewed is the SRV201E (19.3kW, Three Phase) It is part of a ducted system. The compressor is large and heavy and is an outside unit.

A capacitor will be relatively cheap, The soft start module will be around $300

Labour will be upwards of $70 per hour
