AWSOME unit
What an awesome fridge wish I'd bought 2 now, temp stayed steady and didn't drain the car battery when accidentally left on over night. Heaps of room for everything we needed plus some. So quite even when brought into the motel room, slept right next to it all night (did have to cover the very bright led though).
Can't wait for ALDI to get more so I can get another to use as a dedicated freezer
Purchased in March 2021 at ALDI for $549.00.

Excellent fridge freezer for the price
Bought this unit from Aldi and ran it as a freezer inside my camper trailer for 2 weeks nonstop .
Maintained -18 to -15 even during mid 30 degree daytime temperatures.
Unit operated on batteries and a 160 watt solar panel without any issue..
The supplied cover offers no additional insulation capacity, but can’t complain for the price.
Purchased in April 2021 at ALDI.

Great fridge, excellent price
At $549, it is no wonder that Aldi sold out of these units in less than a minute. This is an excellent fridge with plenty of storage and low power consumption.
I have used this on two camping trips now, the first running on 240V and the second on 12V. On the second trip, a 105ah battery powered the fridge non-stop for 23+ hours and only dropped to 12.4V. This was in 30° ambient daytime temperature and 11° night temperature, with frequent opening. Add a solar panel to the combo and I can see this fridge working without issue for 5+ days.

th any fridge. it works best when filled to the brim as it is easier to keep cool contents rather than air. The internal storage space works well but it does occupy 50% of the storage space in the rear of our 4x4. This is something to consider if you don't have roof racks or a trailer. However, once packed in the car, the Adventuridge app is a great way of checking the fridge's performance and current temperature (or just checking that the power plug hasn't been bumped out of place). My advice, next time these come up for sale, line up early and buy one.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I'm considering this for our boat - and wondering is it only fridge, or freezer or does it have capacity to do either.? Is it one or two sections (that can be controlled individually)?
thanks

How many amps does it draw down? Just wondering how large a battery I’ll need to keep it powered when free camping.

Hi Jono,
My Fridge pulls 5.5 amps when the compressor is running, most fridges pull the same amps as they use similar compressors except Engel.
How long will your compressor be running and how many times will it cycle depends on if its in full sun, if warm beers just been added or the kids keep leaving the door open.
100ah lead acid battery is a good start or 70ah lithium. a 100 watt solar panel in full sun or 200 watt solar panel in patchy sun, MPPT solar regulator.
8 gauge cables with anderson plugs will give you about 10m length to move the solar panel around to chase the sun.
I have 200 watt fixed solar panel and 100 watt mobile solar panel with 200ah batteries for a 40L fridge only.
Hope this helps.
Thanks Tim, that’s very helpful!
