Apallingly inept
These guys suck. Could not deliver. If they can't even deliver a $4K order, how would they go after the sale? Took 5+ hours to call back, never returned the 3 calls + text and their call centre was engaged.
Warehouse manager lied. State manager never called back. Not getting my money!

Nothing but troubles
We purchased the AEG Lavatherm Dryer and an AEG washing machine when we moved into our new home. We have had nothing but troubles with both appliances since purchase and service men in every few months. Yet again our dryer went out over a week ago, this time with an E60 error (something about it not heating up properly) but AEG can not even send a repair person out for a week. We have a busy family with both of us working so not having access to our dryer for a week is actually a substantial issue for us. It also recently had a bust belt tha...Read more
t had to be replaced only some months before hand. Our matching washing machine we purchased from AEG has had nothing but troubles too including the drum falling out and having been replaced (that is why this is not a 1 star review as they did suggest a new replacement for the washing machine). As I could not wait a week for a dryer this time, I actually had to purchase a second dryer (NOT AEG!!!). Not remotely happy with AEG appliances for the price we paid and will never purchase an AEG product again in the future.

the reality is that is not acceptable. To have to buy another dryer because the one we have literally is not working and no one can come out for a week, that is unacceptable when you pay the price we do for these 'luxury top end' products. Short of replacing the dryer that has had nothing buy troubles, then there is no point talking to you. Thanks for the standard reply that makes it look like AEG actually cares. If you really care you would follow US up. Heck, we have called AEG that many times and have had to even call up today to see if the repair man that was promised would show up as he did not bother to call us and AEG never confirmed a time with the expectation that people can sit at home all day.Similar opinion? AEG Dryer Series 8000
Guys Ive been reading some peoples reviews of the dryer and how clothes are wet at the end of the cycle. My dryer is 1 week old and had the same issue. I contacted AEG repairs and the issue was fixed easily. Do this to fix issue..Press ON then both EXTRA SILENT and REFRESH simultaneously until CO appears. Release and press the START button until only the one bar is there. Your all set and clothes come out almost extra crispy. Installer should have done this but forgot..hope this helps

Worst dryer
This drier is the worst! Clothes are never dried properly and when you try to dry the clothes further the drier won't allow for it because it thinks there dry. I have tried every cycle to get the dryer to dry the clothes further but to no avail, so revert to hanging them around the house for the bit of dampness to dry. A Harvey Norman rep advocated that is was one of the best dryers however it has been a total waste of money and not cheap. Never buying this brand again.
Purchased at Harvey Norman for $1,500.00.

Great, love my dryer
I've had this dryer for about 2 years now. During this time, it has dried almost every load washed for my family of 6. Took a little bit to get used to chosing the best settings for each load, but works like a charm now.
Love my dryer and don't want to think of life without it.

Perfect machine
I have had my AEG T97689IH Lavatherm machine for just on 2 years. Our laundry no longer has peeling paint and everything does not become mouldy due to the condenser, and recycling heat exchanger.
It’s a great machine that is very economical and I’ve got use to the longer drying cycles compared to my old dryer that lasted 15 years. However the AEG model is much kinder on my clothes.
My one complaint is that the machine will stop when clothes are still very damp, and I need to finish them off on “time dry” setting. This is more prevalent when I’m...Read more

Good machine .... but
Bought this dryer just over three years ago and it has (had) been excellent after a bit of experimentation about what settings worked best with particular types of fabrics. In a climate where a dryer is closer to a necessity than a luxury the good energy efficiency and ability to run a dryer without pumping more humidity into the house have been appreciated. At a rough guess it has run for over 1500 hours since new. Anyway, the motor blew up a few days ago and the replacement will be in the order of $500 (plus the labour) which is about $200 m...Read more
ore than I paid for my previous base model Hoover dryer which was still running fine after 14 years when I passed it on to my niece. Admittedly that was in Queensland where a dryer can gather dust through lack of use rather than my current location in Tasmania but still causing a bit of concern about newer AEG quality. On the other hand, I have owned a couple of apparently indestructible AEG washing machines which I suspect are still out there somewhere making the world a cleaner place. Would I buy another AEG dryer? Not if I lived in Queensland or anywhere having a dryer was an occasional convenience. Basically I could buy a new Hoover every year and throw the old one away and still be ahead financially. In Tasmania, maybe ... but I would sure be checking reliability reviews first.Purchased in April 2021.

Love this dryer
I love this dryer. Very quiet, dry cloths perfectly. The most i love is no more wet laundry room. The condensation water straight to the pipe. No much hasle. The only thing need to improve is the filter. Dried cloths may get the dirt from filter when removed from the dryer.

Worst Dryer, Harvey Norman desperate to sell this lemon
By insisting recommendation from Harvey Norman staff bought this dryer, it does not dry clothes, takes up to 4 cycles to get clothes dry, AEG came out, advised it has to be set to "Australian settings" rather than European settings, still rubbish. Called AEG, as soon as I mentioned the model she asked would I like a refund. She was efficient the dryer was rubbish, never trust staff's opinion at Harvey Norman again. Don't Buy!!

Damp clothes will not repeat a cycle
This machine was talked up by the consultant at the store and I had to wait 6 weeks for it to be delivered. It doesn’t dry clothes on any cycle effectively. If you try for a second cycle it will give you 5 mins then stop. IT DOESNT DRY CLOTHES and you can’t seem to program it to. I regret buying this dryer. Should’ve got a much cheaper one.

Love this dryer!
We brought this dryer based on its wide range of functions, length of warrenty and it's 7 star energy rating. I read a lot of reviews regarding heatpump condenser dryers and see many people complain about the washing not getting dry. At first touch ( immediately out of dryer) I thought the same but by the time I got upstairs it's dry to the touch. Most people believe your laundry needs to be dry as a board, but for softness and longevity it is not. Admittedly when items (fabrics) are mixed it will sense the driest item first and end cycle but w...Read more
ith the wide choice of settings there are more options, as there is also for how dry you want your washing dried. I now am able to dry hand knitted woolen jersey's with absolutely no shrinkage and have also used the outdoor setting for raincoat's. I have also noticed my clothing and towels are softer. I am glad I didn't listen to the bad reviews. You can always call the manufacturer for recommendations / troubleshooting and with Harvey Norman 14 no questions asked return you have nothing to loose.Similar opinion? Average dryer
Very disappointed with this dryer. I dry most clothes on our clothes line and with my old Miele dryer was able to put towels etc in the dryer after to soften them. The AEG dryer does not allow you to put dry clothes in the dryer to soften them. I assume the sensor tells the machine that the clothes are already dry. If I do time dry it turns off within a minute. Towels are still hard. I spoke to AEG and they couldn’t help me. This is the main reason I use a dryer just to soften. Machine won’t do this. Won’t be buying another AEG. It also takes a very long time to actually dry wet clothes.

Yikes!!
Just purchased after a lot of convincing from Harvey Norman sales consultants. Looks great, but operates at a low-end budget dryer only suitable for drying towels and sheets. Adjustment of default drying levels are not working - an electronic problem.....Two weeks before a consultant can even come to look at dryer.... Do not buy!! RUN>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

A dryer that doesn’t dry clothes?
Fact - this dryer does not dry clothes. It takes some of the moisture out but leaves them feeling moist. They are not dry enough to fold and put away. This is the case irrespective of the setting you use so there is not benefit in any of them. I simply cannot believe this product is for sale at all let alone at the price which to me should indicate a high end appliance that works.
Also annoyingly you have to take the clothes out at the end of the cycle immediately or else the moisture that was removed goes back in. Neither Harvey Norman where I bought the machine or AEG are prepared to do anything to address the fact I have paid good money for a product that does not dry clothes.

Loving my new AEG Dryer
I received my new AEG dryer this morning, we replaced a Miele dryer, which was leaking after 8 years of good service, the replacement part was $600, which I was reluctant to pay. I also could not afford another Miele. I previously had a good experience with AEG Oven and this dryer was on sale. After reading some negative reviews I was really apprehensive, but since it arrived I used it twice on different settings and both came out beautifully dry and soft. I am really happy and relieved

Great dryer
I only ever use the dryer to dry why clothes and have just changed from a vented dry to this and it did take me Few loads to work out how to use it best. I read a lot of negative reviews about clothes not dried properly and did have this trouble initially but if you adjust the load spin rate and use the extra dry function on the extra dry function clothes are super dry and hot like a vented dryer. I have worked out that these dryer are actually not meant to totally dry out the clothes by not drying clothes out to a crisp I am able to hang them...Read more
up wrinkle free and so much gentler to the material. I now also use about 6 cents an hour rather than 30 cents a hour, while drying time is double it is still a lot cheaper. This machine is super quiet. You are able to save the water and use as demineralised ironing water that smells like fresh washing. Only negative I can think of is it is not wall mountable but I prefer to have them stacked to it is easier to remove washing and I am able to store washing baskets on top. I love that all the moist air is not blown into my house which was causing mould in my house, each load I empty about 5-6l of water out of the container, I have now plumbed the hose into my drain so never have to empty the container. I can imagine repair will be a lot more expensive but that comes with the territory of having expensive advanced machines. I am converted and wish I had bought one year's ago!!!Similar opinion? Poor drying
Extremely disappointed with this machine.
Doesn't fully dry linen. Leaves it feeling damp.
I put it back on to dry and stays on cooling for about 10mins then shuts down.
Doesn't feel very hot during the drying process.
My previous dryer did a much better job for 1/5 of the price.

Not great
The sales consultant talked us into this and I regret it. This drier does not dry and always turns off, when my clothes are wet! The cupboard dry function is a damp finish, if I want that I’ll hang my load out normally ... good thing is it creates no moisture in the air so I can close my laundry door if need be whilst it’s on.

Worst Product Ever Experienced!!!
I bought this just over a year ago for almost $2,400. two days ago,It started generating a loud grinding noise. Upon calling AEG, an electrician turned up and said it needs a new motor and commented on the issues surrounding this machine and the complaints received from customers. As per him, AEG seem to replace the machine for this issue but on case by case basis for the customers who make a protest. I called AEG and asked them to replace the machine given its price and the warranty. I have had no response yet. I do not recommend this product ...Read more
