Does the job
Stirling brand- Aldi comes cheap to do the job.
Good microwave and does the job. The cooking results with the microwave are OK. The cooking is well spread across the microwave.
The features are simple to understand.
Microwave is not loud.
We have used it for more than 2 years and it is still going on, so cant complain for the price we payed.
Would recommend it.

Excellent microwave
We bought this to replace our expensive sharp microwave which died just out of warranty. One of the main things I really love about this microwave is the turn of the button then press to heat up, it is incredibly easy to use. My family visits often and are my grandparents have trouble using some microwaves but find this one really easy. I got it for a fantastic price of $79. Its easy to clean and heats evenely. It fits well in the micowave compartment in my kitchen. It is stylish and has all the features we need. If this was needing to be replaced I would buy this one again as we havd been really happy with it.

Great microwave
This was a great purchase for the price. It works really well and looks great in our kitchen. It looks much more expensive than it is. The only problem for us was the clock kept becoming around 10-15 minutes behind... but thats not too much of a concern. I guess the other negative is that if you haven't taken food out it keeps beeping at you after a minute, which is kind of annoying. Still well worth it for the price.

Very short life span
Bought it in 2014. Overall it has done a good job but guess when the warranty is almost over so is the prodcuct. All of a sudden it doesn't heat up anymore - I have checked everything and everywhere and there is seems to be a problem at all. Very dissapointing. . Will never buy any electrical goods from ALDI again. Better stick back to my Panasonic!!!

not great - returned
I usually love Aldi's products but haven't had much luck with their appliances. My mother purchased this as it was lightweight and small size but the turntable seemed to stall intermittently while turning and unit got quite hot on top while in use. We returned to store and manager was really helpful and gave refund

Short life
This microwave oven all of a sudden stopped working (no power whatsover). We only bought this product 14 months ago from Aldi. We always love what we get from Aldi but this one was a little disappointing. It is possible that the one we got was a lemon in a batch

Short working life
Bought ours in 2012 lasted for 4 years with occasional use but last night at about midnight (wasn't in use) randomly tripped the safety switch. Now as soon as its Turned on at the wall it trips the breaker. Will be steering clear of Lumina equipment in the future. d

So Easy to Use
This would have to be one of the best appliances I have bought this year...
Extremely good looking, with an excellent easy to grab handle...Which means I don't leave messy fingerprints all over the glass door...The instruction booklet is easy to follow, and all the functions work just as they should...Absolutely love the fan exhaust system which keeps the interior from getting all steamy...It was an opening special in our new Aldi store, a real bargain at only $99.00 I honestly cannot think of any negatives for this microwave....Love it.....

about average so far
Our household bought a lumina microwave oven after the lumina convention oven wrecked up from aldi about 2 years ago and even put a new extension cord to run the microwave and it's still going / the only problem was that the lightbulb wrecked up / if someone is after a cheap good working microwave oven till they can afford to buy another microwave then lumina microwaves might be suitable for their household

I think I might have reviewed the wrong lumina microwave as the lumina microwave our household has says at the back it was manufactured in 2013 and also it says 1500 watts

just a bit below average
Our household bought the lumina microwave from aldi supermarket in fairy meadow / got it home and plugged in and everything was going good as it was heating up well then soon enough it starting blowing up the light bulbs they have then after a few months it wouldn't heat up things as good then the lumina microwave oven even though the fan was still working good then the silly lumina microwave just stopped heating things up so I unplugged it and tried again using the microwave again and it still wouldn't work well then the door just broke and had to unplug it and just left it / I wouldn't recommend this lumina microwave fan forced microwave oven
1 comment
As it was making funny short circuit sounds and it kept tripping the safety switch outside / I think the microwave oven got water on it as well

Very Happy
Our Lumina has just died after 8 1/2 years of robust daily use. We used this oven using every possible combination there was and it never let us down. Granted the oven wasn't the best when it came to baking but for the price you can't expect the same performance as you would from a $900 machine, For everything else it worked just fine. Like a lot of other people the light did blow after a couple of months but that was no big deal. For the price we're very happy. We have just replaced it with another one also from Aldi a Stirling brand this tim...Read more
e and so far so good, this one has a 3 year replacement warranty so they must be pretty confident in the product . I have only ever had a problem with one product from Aldi it was only just out of warranty I phoned them they were very good to deal with I just had to email them a copy of the receipt and posted me out a brand new one no cost to me at all.Similar opinion? Problems with control panel
Worked ok for 18 months then touch panel started playing up and would only work on express mode. I was hoping it would have lasted longer. Won't buy Aldi microwave again. It looked nice. I usually don't have a problem with Aldi products. Maybe you get what you pay for.

Piece of JUNK - Lasted less than 1 week
I've had a Sharp carousel convection microwave for 27 faultless years - In 2008 I was preparing to retire so I bought this Lumina Microwave from Aldi in 2008 because I figured the Sharp might not last too much longer - I put the Lumina away in a cupboard unopened - Just this week April 2014 the Sharp finally gave up and I unpacked the Lumina - I used it 3 times on microwave only, worked fine - then today I decided to use the convection part of the oven - worked ok but made weird noises - After I finished cooking with convection - went to use t...Read more

Stirling 30L Microwave Convection from Aldi - Oct 2013
When I went to use item from the first time found that the Microwave function does not work. Called Tempo Help Desk and was told I would need to return it for replacement or refund (no repair option). Will need to return for refund for refund as none are in stock. Very disappointing experience as I expected better from Aldi. Both Tempo & Aldi were pleasant to deal with by phone.
Price
Did not work (Microwave function) when first used. Not repairable.

yes we had the same issue. The convection part didn't work (it just grilled the top). Called the manufacture/Tempo who said it's not repairable, take it back to Aldi, called ALdi, they said call Tempo... Read more
, called Tempo - no we don't repair, take it back to aldi, called Aldi & explained our consumer rights (our right to have it repaired or replaced & it's up to us whether we use the retailer or the manufacture). They offered to send a replacement....after multiple follow up calls & many weeks, we got a replacement sent, which also didn't work. We're told now bad luck. lug them both back to an Aldi store & get a refund. The 3yr warranty is useless if they can't repair or replace your unit. make sure you scan your receipt as you're only option is a refund.I just turned up at the local Aldi store with boxed up microwave & receipt. Went thru checkout with it. Advised I was returning it as faulty. Filled out a little paperwork & received full refund via eftpos.

Cheap and nasty
Item blew up (loud bang and smoke). Aldi will not give any refund if the item is more than 60 days from purchase. Have to get in touch with some third party mob that have to authorize a refund even if the item is well within the 12 month warranty period. Definitely leaves a bad taste about both the microwave and especially the Aldi service response. Will be making a complaint to the ACCC to find out if their practices are totally legitimate. Went onto the Aldi website and the link to the detailed refund policy is broken. I will never purchase another warranted item from Aldi.
Absolutely no service and no interest in assisting. Poor people skills.

Know your consumer rights. They have to repair/replace it, regardless of the 60 days.

Well-built and does its job
Been using it since 2008, still going strong. Does what it's supposed to do, no complaints on basic functionality. It's easy to clean, has never given me any problems.
The only quirk is the clock adjustment, which is not exactly easy to figure out.
*csf6701's review gives instructions on setting it up.

OK
once you know how to work the microwave it is ok, express button is probably the most used button, as it is a cheap simple microwave don't expect it to do the washing for you
cheap, compact
time setting is unconventional

How do you set 0r reset the clock
1 answer
Setting the time
When the microwave is switched on for the first time or when the power supply has
been interrupted, the display will show 1:00 and the time must be set.
1. Push the button with 2 clock faces.
“Hr12" will appear on the display .
2. Push this button again to select whether you want to set the time in 24-
hour (“Hr24") or12-hour (“Hr12") mode.
3. Set the current hour with the control dial.
4. Push the same button to confirm the entry.
5. Set the current time in minutes with the control dial.
6. Finally, push the same button again to complete the process.
