Mobile reception at long last!
Aldi mobile service has given me something that the big Telcos couldn't or didn't want to! Reception inside my home! No am not in the countryside, I live close to Tweed Heads. Perfect call reception inside! Not a big ask but they seem to be the only provider that can do it. Thank you so much for doing what the others couldn't

Great value for money
Switched to Aldi Mobile after finishing up with my previous Optus contract and it's been great value for money. I initially had some issues with porting my number, but the customer service team responded pretty fast and it was resolved. Love that the data rolls over to the next month and they also use the Telstra network, so you still get the same coverage.

Great service, with one minor drawback
I've been an ALDI Mobile customer for quite a few years since going away from Telstra. From there, I went to PAYG plans, which for either $15 or $30, give you PAYG rates for a year. After a while, I started to use the value packs more and I'm pleased to see that ALDI are continually evolving these packs to give better perks. They also offer data-rollover, which is fantastic.
However, there's one issue that I've noted that bothers me a bit and that's the way the auto-recharging works. ALDI should at least give a notification a day or two before...Read more
the plan auto-recharges as it will then allow the person to see how much data they have left and see if it's still worth doing their more expensive recharge or to go for a less-expensive recharge for the month to allow them to get through some of the built-up data. For this, I've started to put calendar entries in my phone to determine when the auto-recharge will happen. Other than that, I've got no complaints and will continue to stick with them.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

After transferring from boost to aldi I can't receive mms. Phones call center twice not much help though. The setting issue/ I know the other networks send you text with setting. Here you have to struggle

Does not use 4G for calls only data!
I have a coverage issue, in amongst the lengthy email received from aldi was this gem ...
Directly from aldi
“Can you confirm if you are trying to call normally or if you are trying to call over 4G or WiFi as these are not currently available with ALDIMobile”
I tried to see if it was obvious on their website, nope it does not plainly state that aldi does not use 4G for calls ... it says it uses 4G ( which by deduction could only be data)
I think this is what would be called deception by omission.

Great Value
Have been using Aldi Mobile for about 4 years and it has been great. The Telstra mobile network is suitable for me as I travel both to metro and rural areas and don't run into many issues with coverage (unless it's down for every network).
Not sure about the auto recharge comments as I set mine up years ago and haven't had any issues at all. I have been using the $25 L plan the entire time and since I was using it I have seen the allowed data increase from ~5GB with no rollover to 18GB with virtually unlimited rollover and unlimited calls to m...Read more
ajor countries such as USA, UK and China. I continuously receive emails from Aldi Mobile about updates to the plan. In my time, there has been one major outage which lasted about 24 hours in 2018. I have to admit that the support communications were subpar, but not unexpected considering the value of the mobile plans. To summarise, it was not a problem on my end but on Aldi Mobile's however it was not communicated well. However, I don't think anyone could convince me that a provider such as Telstra or Optus would be any different. Final thing to note is if you rely on phone support or have issues using the app/website to manage your mobile plan then yes, you're probably going to have a difficult time. For those who are not so concerned, choosing Aldi Mobile will be something you won't regret.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great,value for money
We have 6 aldi mobile prepaid between our family the latest one I activated 5 days ago online without any problems.
I don't understand how so many reviews on here people saying that activating is difficult,it's easy and straight forward as long as you fill out your correct details that are required.
I can't comment on the customer service in the call centre as IV never had to ring them.
IV never had a problem my auto recharge works well so does my data roll over .
For $25 a month 18g data and international calls how good is that

Aldi mobile: perhaps the worst provider AND customer service ever!
Currently my wife and I cannot make or receive calls. There has been times when I could make a call but mostly the phone would be trying to connect and eventually the call would fail. Calls to our phone go straight to messagebank. Weirdly text and mobile data seems unaffected. It has been a week, which coincides with the chaos caused by Covid 19. I understand the pressure on mobile networks. However, Aldi have been worse than useless in their responses to me. First I got this epic email:

Auto recharge needs to be improved
it would appear that Aldimobile auto recharge will happen sometime during the last day of the current service. However, it could be that your current plan is disconnected prior to the auto recharge being activated. In which case you will be charged at the pay as you go rates from your available credit. If you don't have any credit then your service won't work. Aldimobile acknowledges this in their FAQ and says that they are justified in using this credit. They may think so, you may think so, but I think it is unjustified and as it is in Aldi's interest to operate this way. It spoils an otherwise good product.

They might be cheap but they have NO call Centre
I honestly don't know where to start with this mob. Their customer service number has a recorded message saying call back they are busy and it hangs up. I then send an online enquiry from my account only to receive an email back two days later saying they are busy.
I have emailed back 3 times now and stated they could have replied with the answer in the same time they take to reply. Its now over a week and no answer, its crazy considering this company and owner is one of the richest in the world.
And don't be fooled, you are Not getting th...Read more
e Telstra network, its way below par and worse then 3g. I am not sure how it works but maybe the service gets diverted through a computer or something, when you call its goes quite, then beeps before it rings. Lots of drop outs. Don't waste your time with this mob for a few bucks extra. Very simply they have No support hence why they are a bit cheaper. After what is going on in our word, I am now paying a bit extra and using an Aussie based customer service Telco, I will get the issue fixed and keep some jobs in Australia.Similar opinion? Really unhelpful
Aldi have the dubious honour of being the most unhelpful mobile company I've ever dealt with. I spent a week trying to activate my SIM, they wouldn't tell me what the problem with the port was, they just kept sending emails saying you need to activate your sim, I sent them every bit of ID and paperwork they asked for, just nothing. The call center hung up on me 3 times. I would never, ever want to be with Aldi again

Good coverage, terrible automatic recharge
Aldi is good until you come to the end of the month. There is a lag between being charged for a new month and being able to use your phone. They have a bizarre PAYG system to cover this lag which lasts about 5 minutes. Very annoying and inconvenient.

Aldi mobile disappointing
I bought an aldi mobile sim pack for my sons phone and $25 extra credit for what I was told was the 18gb mobile pack. After setting up which was a bit of a process as the website is rubbish and activating the credit by the next morning the credit was gone. I tried to get customer support that evening but they were closed and there is no online chat like telstra has. After waiting till the next day and getting customer support turns out you can't just buy the mobile pack you have to load credit then turn that into a mobile pack. What a stupid se...Read more
tup! I'm sure designed to rip people off. It certainly wasn't explained when I purchased and the website again was useless. To say I'm dissapointed is an understatement. I quite like Aldi stores but after this I'm off them a bit. Customer support said they'll log a job and I can wait 2 days to see if they will top up the credit. Just heard back from them no refund too bad. If you have to go with them then make sure you get what you're asking for but I think I'll shop around. Aldimobile, bad, different.Similar opinion? Absolutely the best mobile phone co.
I didn't realise we have so many brain-dead incompetent tech users in Australia until I read the self-confessions right here. Aldimobile has excellent call and data deals and is on the Telstra 4G network. Great reception, great APP and its so easy to create an account, register and activate the SIM online. Absolutely highly recommended !.

ALDI Mobile Customer Service not helpful
I purchased a 365 day prepaid SIM and activated it. Several days later I contacted Customer Service to ask to port my old number. ALDI said it is not possible because my SIM is already activated.
I asked Customer Service why the ALDI Activation screen and the ALDI FAQ on their website did not call out that porting is only possible at the time of activation and not later? This is a lack of transparency & disclosure.
She said she is sorry but there is nothing she can do. I asked to log a formal complain - she said ALDI will send a reply within 2...Read more

Good network but renewals are lousy
I find it has good coverage and all that, but their notifications about plan renewals are a bit lousy. I'd expect some kind of notification in advance than the day its due.

Very Happy with my Aldi Mobile sim /data $25
I am happy with the mobile sim and data on my Aldi $25 package.
The change over with my own number was so quick and easy.
I used to be with Optus on a plan, including phone, but when the contract was finished i found Aldi had a great value sim/data, so moved across. The only thing i miss, is that Optus had a really great feature so that you could donate your unused data before it expired to young Australians who could benifit.

One of the best services I subscribe to.
Been with Aldi mobile for 2 years now. Great value. Never had ANY issues because I learnt how to use a smartphone FIRST n read all the info.
Light user who accumulated 25gb r'over data. Currently in hospital and that r'over data is now in play. A godsend. I have 6 friends & relatives on the same Aldi plan as I. The only one who ever complained, initially, is technically challenged, won't take the time to learn and will therefore forever be dependent n stressed out.

I would like to change aldi plans, but have alot of rollover data left on current plan. Can the Left over data be transferred to new plan???

Why does Aldi Balance & Recharge, an My Account, persist in asking me to recharge after I have already done so? They even acknowledge this via fact email. And none of their 'help' questions cover this. It is most frustrating. As I am very deaf I cannot ring them either.
