Cant live without it
I want another 1 please I have had dozens of vacuums and spent hundreds on them i am a professional cleaner by trade vacuums are my fetish i moved to qld 3 years ago and was given this one second hand it out does any vacuum ive used for dust power and picks up almost everything in its path its about 8 years old yes occassionaly it tips over and ive broken a wheel and taped the hose in place i want another one please aldi where can i get it
old ones are perfect, new version is a waist of money.
I got one of the original models, sadly they don't make them like that anymore.
purchased mine in 2012. its still going strong in 2017. when the suction is getting bad, I soak the filters over night and its back to perfect again. its also recommended to give them a shake every time you empty the cylinder.
I have 3 cats and a dog who are inside. i have floor boards in the living areas and carpets in bedrooms. it does get clogged up in the hose with hair if there is too much but if done regularly, its not an issue. a beater bar on the head ...would also help get the hair out of the carpet but I make do. I have a spare vacuum in the shed that died this year (2017) and I purchased the new version of this vacuum but alas, its awful. the filters need cleaning after every use, not just a dust, they need a soak in water. I cant get the car fully clean without the filters filling and needing emptying. the suction is similar as the original but it doesn't last. I wish it would hurry up and die altogether so I can get something different. and by the sounds of the reviews, it wont be long... Why would they change their product when it was perfect to start with?
So sad it died
I expected very little given the $100 price tag but this vaccum just kept charging. When suction dropped off it just required a good filter clean and was back to 100%. We even used it to clean a construction site for 8 months. I would love to find another onebut feara similar priced vaccum wont deliver the same way.
Happy with performance.
Not light. or easy to maneuvre. Quiet?? We wear sound-reducing muffs We paid less than $100 each for two of the Lumina Bagless, strawberry colour at Aldi's. Both did get the same amount of use. They had been in use for seven years when, surprisingly, they both broke at the front of the hose within four months of each other. Yes, difficult to get parts. However, you can get 'joining up pieces' (converter pieces) that allow you to use accessories from other vacuum cleaners. You will have to learn about inside and outside measurements of the tubes...of the various accessories. I saved $25 each time cleaning the (HEPA?) filter in the garden, instead of buying a new filter. CONTINUED ...... Our two machines are now nine years old ... bought 2008, now it is December 2017. The motor never failed. Exactly what model ?... Strawberry red (not deep red) LUMINA 12 Product no 7085 Model no CL-885 Serial no 95601864 2200 watt
Still going strong
I bought my vacuum cleaner a few years ago from Aldi, it has never let me down, not once! We have renovated our home, and there was a lot of plaster dust, and this vacuum cleaned it up with no hassles, BUT you do need to clean the filters quite often, ( I don't find it a problem). If this one ever breaks down I will get another one, for the price they charge its not worth worrying about warranties.
Great! works a dream... in a quick house and car clean 'one-over'
You know for an affordable Aldi vacuum cleaner — its great, especially at a student flat, light, easy to use, not much fuss. Even has an adjustable power-suction control dial on the top-side.
Just as a few negatives, a little noisy when wanting to have a mid conversation with others, and the hose on my version, (*note: not to sure where my mother purchased it from originally, but maybe it was at Aldi Australia) type of Lumina (R) pops out sometimes when doing a fast house clean at my parents' place. Wish it came with more reusable bags thoug...h. However, the bags are great to re-use to clean and so shows how long I've had it for now, so yes it's a very versatile tool for a home activity that I usually don't like doing. Oh and theirs no problem with over extending the machine's power-cord either because it's retractable mainly for safety reasons. All in all - still under warranty and very reliable variation to Aldi's Bagless Vacuum cleaner.
Aldi Cyclonic Vacuum
I have read some really interesting negative reviews of the Aldi cyclonic vac. Loses suction after a couple of weeks or months, seems to be the common whinge. I say whinge, because I bet the people who commented as such, never bothered to clean the filters. Yes, suction drops off when filters are dirty. I clean mine every couple of months and the vacuum works perfectly. Better that the heap of rubbish Electrolux that we paid 10 times the price for and lasted till a week after the warranty. Maintain your vacuum and it should serve you well.
Another spectacular fail and just out of warranty
What can I say that can further add to the existing reviews? Again, the motor failed after a very short period of use. This qualifies for a zero star rating! The vacuum cleaner looks OK and is presumably trying to mimic something that actually might have a good reputation. Avoid at all costs!
Bought this 4 months ago and it is awesome. My daughter has a $800 Dyson and my $79 Aldi vacuum runs rings around it. Top it off it comes with a 3 year warranty. I will recommend this to everyone i know. The quality is great and the price is unbelievable. Another fine product from Aldi
Love this vacuum!
Mine unfortunately broke recently, after 3.5 years. (The cord was pulled too hard I think.) It was fantastic. Suction was amazing. Every couple of months we pulled it apart and gave it all a wash and it was like brand new. I wish I could get my hands on another one!
Reliable, cheap, quiet.
Worked OK for about a year, then blew up - literally - smoke, sparks, horrible smell. At a guess the electric motor decided it didn't want to play any more. Wasn't great even when living - the cord is too short for most houses. You get what you pay for with Aldi...
You get what you pay for, suction started to die after two weeks. All plastic, so gives off a hot plastic smell. Asking for a refund tommorrow. I do not recommend Aldi electricals. You get what you pay for, suction started to die after two weeks. All plastic, so gives off a hot plastic smell. Asking for a refund tommorrow. The dust filter as good.
Lost suction after two weeks.
Cheap And cheerful
I had been putting off buying a vacuum cleaner mostly due to high cost. Found this vac on sale for $19 and thought how could you go wrong?? First test and it picked up a lot of dust and dog hair. Very impressed so far. It does feel cheap but easy to clean and empty. Lets see how long it lasts..,
Picks up a lot of dust. Easy to empty
While I had little problem with the cleaner, as such, parts were difficult to find. it is under 3 yr warranty but the belt broke and this would be considered normal wear and tear. I eventually bought replacement from Tempo in Sydney for $25. It broke almost imediately. Also a piece of plasric broke off the holder for the solid tubibg.
Good sduction. Reasonable size waste container.
Poor quality. Difficult to find parts.
best Vacuum ever!
that is all. last cheap vacuum was rubbish so we thought we'd try this aldi one since they always seem to have great products. great long handle and cord, easy to empty dust canister. gets under low furniture easily. would recommend if anyone is looking for a cheap awesome vacuum cleaner with all the features of an expensive one
I hesitated buying a cheap vacuum, but my expensive one still only lasted a couple of years. This has great suction, not too loud nor too heavy!!
The design is great - the handle makes it easy to pick up, and the wheels work well. it has a clever tool on board that serves as a 2 in one. I haven't noticed it scratching the floors and the cord is longer than most too! Highly recommended for the price.
Love this vacuum, and not that it's important, but I love the colour too :-) Great price as well, and 2 year warranty.
Nothing so far, but only owned it for a couple of weeks.
Excellent! Great price
We own an electrolux vacuum cleaner (non bagless) which cost us around $650. The head broke on this and while it was being fixed under warranty we bought a Aldi Lumina Bagless Vacuum for $99. This vacuum cleaner is fantastic. It got aturbo head which has a handle with speed/ power controls. It does a fantastic job on our carpet, so powerful it pulls the carpet up a little! Its a little loud, but this does not bother me. Comes with a 1 year warranty. From a dog that just loves to leave hair around the carpet this machine does a great job and can highly recommend it! I feel a silly for paying so much for our electrolux now as i truly cannot see or feel the difference.
Powerful at a fantastic price.
We love it, its thje best vacuum we have ever had, small and easy to use. It is powerful and sucks up all the dust. Once again Aldi have purchases a top quality item at a low cost.
Small, light and easy to use.
Very powerful. No Bag to empty, just a waster collector area, so no more expensive bags to buy
The catch on the waste collector feels a little 'weak' and could break.
The on off switch is playing up a little, but nothing to serious
Brilliant design for the money. Easy to pull apart and clean if you've vacuumed an industrial amount of plaster dust!
Very intelligent design for the money. Its not dyson but its easily the best cheap vacuum out there. I just vacuumed up heaps of plaster dust. After emptying the canister I love the fact i can pull the canister apart and rinse it to clean out any tiny particals remaining. We had a Miele which wasn't bad but the Miele vacuum bags cost $20 each time it needed a new one and it cost 4 times the price in the first place. The Miele lo...
For carpets it is excellent as it picks everything up without having to go over it 20 times. Shame about the nasty finish of the floor tool though as it makes it useless for hard floors that you don't want all scratched up.
Really good suction - had to lessen it now and then as it was so strong! I had not problems with it picking up long hair. Easy to remove and empty dust cannister.Long cord.
Can't use it on my tiles or hardwood floors as it the bottom of the floor tool is very rough and it scratches them. Bit annoyed about this as it means I will have to keep my old vacuum cleaner just for doing the hard surfaces :(
