Love it my little robot
Love it! I took a bit of a gamble buying it because the reviews were not so good, but I'm glad I did! This robot does a great job with any kind of floor, including carpet (which I was resigned to have to keep doing by hand). Battery life lasts longer than predicted too, although this may change.
The only problem is that it does not find the docking station in time when the battery is running low. But, frankly, for the difference in price with other better brands, I don't mind taking it myself to recharge.

Insufficient technology
This machine didn't perform, we kept it for a month. No memory, would stay in one area. Didn't go from room to room. Sensors didn't detect objects would just bang into furniture. Kept getting stuck between or ride up on furniture ie bar stool base, then would just repeatedly go backwards and forward until it was moved. Would often have to reset as it would continuously go around in circles in the middle of the room. We elected to spend more and went for an LG model and found the technology was very more superior.

Handy little sweeper
This robotic vacuum did an excellent job on my tiled floors throughout the lower floor of my house. It could sweep up bits and pieces and gave fairly good coverage. The dust collector bin is of adequate size but should be emptied frequently. I didn't find it suitable on carpet, a proper vacuum cleaner does a much better job as it has more powerful suction. The return to base function was a good bonus and the barrier sensors used to keep it within a set space worked well.

Good to start off with but then product fail!
I was impressed to start off with but then things turned sour! Parts starting to wear out quickly then the "battery" started to play up. The vacuum stopped working and Aldis customer service said that the product (battery) is not covered under the 3 year warranty and I have to buy a new battery $60 plus postage and handling every year when the battery stops working! So in the long run don't purchase this cheap product because you'll be up for a new battery in a year when warranty doesn't cover it! Bad customer service and advertising.

Not so successful
Has broken down now hoping to get fixed. Brushes don't work and the plastics wear out coursing lots of cleaning machine issues. It has been unable to redock most of time so I have to look for it to recharge. hoping to send for repair and get replacement think I have a lemon would have returned but had not been able to find receipt
Suction has been good and love that it cleans my house but lots of maintenance and looking for it in the house to recharge makes me not love it

My little helper
I've had my Stirling for a little over 2 years, it's a fantastic machine.
I run it a couple of times a week and it does a great job picking up crumbs etc. It doesn't replace a vacuum, but I find I need to do a thorough vacuum much less often.
I find it covers the floor space really well, battery life is good too.
I've replaced the brushes and filters a couple of times, getting the spare parts has been pretty easy.
The floors always look great after it's had a run, it's a great helper!

Don't know how I ever did without t his
This little beastie is great it won't replace a Heavy Duty Vac but it does come close .
It's suction is wonderful I can set and forget . We have a very large lounge/ hall area with carpet runners and timber flooring and it never fails to amaze me how much it picks up Or where it all comes from.
It is also great on the tiled kitchen floor and the timber dining room as well.
Well done it's a great product

We love it
Our Stirling Robot Vacuum cleaner is not only cute but very efficient, she has made life easier and gets into areas such as under beds. Recently she stopped working my husband rang the service number and they said a new battery out within days. Unfortunately that didn't fix the problem so we had to send her to be repaired. She was posted on the Friday afternoon and a courier dropped her back on the Thursday. Amazing service!
She is now running around cleaning perfectly.
The heading states that Stirling have discontinued the robot vacuum cleaners, hope that isn't true.

Hard to beat for the price.
Product purchased on special from Aldi 3 months ago.
Thought we would try a cheaper unit before purchasing a more expensive model (Lg or Irobot - Roomba) .
My wife and I have both been impressed with its performance. The unit comes well packaged. It is easy to set up - program and get it doing its thing.
It has been used on carpet - lino - timber - tiled floors. It does the carpet, lino, timber very well. Has a little trouble on the tiles at times. Flat un-patterned carpet it does ok. Carpet with deep patterns it is not effective...Read more

Cant find its way home
Great little vac, Quiet and efficient on all low surfaces, gets bogged down on the thicker rugs.
Fascinating to watch it maneuver around the furniture
Mine has trouble finding its way home to the charge dock, seems to leave its run late and stops half way back to the charger.
Any suggestions?

Good For Flat Surfaces
Can't figure out whether the unit vacuums (as in 'sucks' air) or not, perhaps that's a testament to it's quiet operation (or the lack of any suction). However it definitely has spinning roller brushes on the underside. It is perfect for wooden floors and tiles as it picks up dust, hair, fur and anything small. I would give it no marks for it's effectiveness on carpet, it just doesn't work. I have the unit for my bedroom (wooden floors) and it's perfect. Returns to a docking station for charging, and you can program it for a specific time on any...Read more
or multiple days. Oh, when I say that it's quiet, it's quieter than a standard vacuum cleaner but don't expect to watch television while it's buzzing around, it's not whisper quiet. Although the item is discontinued by Stirling, but still sold at Aldi's, they do make good on the warranty. I was 'el pronto' sent a replacement battery (no questions asked), free I must add, embarrassingly I later discovered that the battery was fine, one of the kids had simply flicked the off switch, I didn't know existed. You also get spare filters and brushes in the box.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
awesome!!
Propper vacuuming needed only once a fortnite. Love it! I have laminated floors, small pieces of carpet and tiles and it does an awesome job. I have 3 small kids and it picks up all the little crumbs effortlesly. Great product for busy mums. Plus its an entertainmebnt for my kids. They run away from it. Haha

It's proving to be a godsend
It's much quieter than my VAX cleaner and does an efficient day-to-day job in our busy 4-bedroom house - all tiles except carpet in the loungeroom. It did get stuck under a recliner chair but a draught-excluder keeps it out now. The space isolator works like a charm. While it cleans I can get on and do other stuff and it's light and easy to move to different sections of the house.

Better than expected
Bought this after a recommendation from a friend. Much better than expected for the price ($199). Sure it gets stuck on shoes/cords and anything else you leave on the floor, but I think that $800 robo-vacs do too. Quietier than expected and thorough enough on wooden floors for a quick clean. Only twice has it not found its way back to charge and ability to time schedule cleans is great. Dust bucket is a bit small but does show that it picks up quite a lot.
Not sure how it goes on carpet but happy with performance on wooden floors. Just don't expect to never have to manually clean the floor again. But we've gone from sweeping 3 times a quick touch up once a week to, happy with that.

Perfect for non heavy duty jobs
It is an excellent product for non heavy duties. ie it is perfect for sweeping and collecting hair and dust from floors. but it is not as powerful vacuum as I thought. I love its performance for its price. as I bought it for $199. Its good compared to other brands.

second robot
I first bought the robot 2/3yrs ago but it stopped working not so long ago so I phoned the helpline who sent me to a local repairer who changed the board (I think). He was very impressed with the build and said he'd buy one any day.
A month or so ago I purchased my second and the first one now lives and works permanently downstairs on the vinyl tiles. The new one now takes care of the upstairs fully carpeted floors. I should add that the new one seems a bit quieter and has two front brushes instead of one.
Regarding furniture, you soon get u...Read more

Sterling Sweeper
The family had 3 cleaners, they are all had it from a seized wheel. The problems is the motor not the gears. To pull apart take the 3 covers off the outside off the wheel and it will all come apart. It worked well until its wheel would not turn. They have been discontinued.

I love my little Sterling robot vaccum
He isn't as strategic as I thought he would be, and sometimes mounts the furniture and can't get back off it, but every time I get home from work, I have known he has been a busy little bee.
We have quite a large family room which joins onto the dining room, kitchen and formal lounge room. Everything has been picked up off the carpet and the tiles and the catcher is quite full even cleaning everyday, which surprises me. I even take him into my bedroom and he whips around even under the bed... Fantastic!
We do have some very thick rugs around ...Read more

$70 Dirt Devil does a better job
The only robot vacuum I've had to compare to this is the Dirt Devil Free Time which cost $49 on special. The Dirt Devil does a better job for a fraction of the price.
I have wooden and tiled floors with a shag pile rug and 3 dogs and a cat, so plenty of hair. I cleaned it out daily but each day I'd come home to piles of pet hair on the floor. The vacuum would suck it up but then spit it out the back of the vacuum! This never happens with the Dirt Devil. The Stirling vacuum also gets caught on my rug (Dirt Devil doesn't) and seems to go aroun...Read more
d in circles a lot. It's movements don't seem particularly smart. I expected a lot better for the price. Obviously its not a Roomba but it shouldn't leave trails of hair behind! This will be going back to Aldi.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
