It was peace of mind, very good
The policy was good value and if I needed it, it was there to use, but luckily I never had to use the policy . It is great peace of mind .

unused - but great knowing it was there
not used this trip but obtainign insurance I always use Allianz as the process is always very simple and easy to use. in the past the only claim ever made was processed very quickly

This policy adequately covers my lengthy overseas travel
I have used this type of policy for several years. I have had claims in the past which were honoured fairly promptly. On my recent lengthy travels I had no claim. I feel for the time period I am away which can be up to 4 months the policy is good value

Ripped off
Terrible value. I came home 50 days early than planned and asked for a refund on extra days that I wouldn’t be using and they said it can’t be done.

Dad's VTA Experience
This policy is excellent value for my travelling needs and was easy to set up. It was terrific in that I didn't have the need to use it but reassured it's there if I need to. I have in the past utilized Allianz for travel and when my husband was ill in Cambodia their assistance was impeccable and as such will always utilise their travel insurance. Thanks Allianz!

Perfect
I felt the policy was great value compared to other policies on offer. I haven’t lodged a claim as I haven’t needed too and every time I’ve travelled overseas I have used Allianz

First time to use my TI Policy for Overseas medical.
I have a duo multi trip ski pack policy.
I arrived home yesterday with my right calf in a splint suffering form a Maisonneuve Fracture (Fractured Fibula, Very Bad Ankle Sprain) from Skiing Japan last week. It took Allianz 6 days to get me on a flight. I could have done myself in 2 days. Granted my incident happened Friday, and they got the call about 6pm AEST. I still could have done it in 2 days.
I was told on Friday arvo, it will take 2 days to approve my submitted documents and have my x-rays assessed, then another 3-4 days to arrange logis...Read more
itics. From the first call to the final call, I must have spoken to 5 different Case Managers, and 3 different registered nurses. You can expect when this occurs, there will be miscommunication, notes not read properly, not enough notes taken by one manager for the next etc... But lines got crossed only on one instance over an acronym, and generally their follow up was great! Criticisms: They didn't outline a good plan for early return for me. Didn't get a good plan on getting proper treatment. I had to ask what the next step is.

allianz and compassion don't go together in the same sentence
Our son died a few weeks before our planned trip. We were told not to waste time putting in a claim - it would be denied as it was suicide. Then the day our trip was to start was my mother's funeral. Claim denied as she was 86 and Allianz doesn't pay out over 85 so be warned of that if you have elderly family. These two exemptions are in the PDS tucked away on pages 73 and 74. Finally with the help of the Financial Ombudsman we got the claim settled on the grounds of my husband needing an urgent biopsy. Thanks Allianz for making a tough time ev...Read more

I will never use Allianz for any insurance again and I have told heaps of people of our awful experience with Allianz. April 28th, 2017 Update: Don't just be insured. Be inspired After my one and only experience with allianz I'm inspired...to NEVER use allianz insurance again. I recently spoke to a broker and asked would he recommend allianz travel insurance and he said no way. Then I told him of my bad experience with them. September 30th 2018 Update: Wish I could give 0 stars as that is what allianz deserves Bought allianz travel insurance once and never again. Have been notified by my bank that as from 1st October they are not using allianz anymore for their credit card travel insurance. Even my bank has now realised how shonky allianz insurance is.3 comments
