Fantastic value for money breast pump
I bought this breast pump after hiring a hospital grade breast pump for one month to breast feed my premature twins. The suction is fantastic, very easy to use, portable meaning I am not stuck in the nursery all day expressing. I managed to continue breast feeding till now - babies are 6 months old Everything fits with the Medela range e.g. bottles, caps. It does the job without breaking your budget.
inexpensive

Couldn't live without it
I bought this for my second child as I had problems feeding my first. This has been fantastic and I was able to feed for much longer than the six weeks with my first. It is comfortable, even when you have sore nipples and easy to use. I initially had low milk supply but this really helped in boosting my supply i used a manual pump for my first baby and sm so glad I got this for my second.
All the Medela parts and bottles fit the pump. We spend a bit of time away from home and it's easy and lightweight to pack up and take overnight. It is ...Read more
expensive but I found the best deal on Nursing Angel and it was well worth the money because I was able to successfully feed my son for months rather than weeks. Easy to use, comfortable, convenient A bit priceySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Works like a dream.
I have had absolutely no problems with this breast pump. As I'm back at work I express three times a day 4 days a week and this machine has not missed a beat. I bought adapters to express directly into Avent bottles and you can also get adapters to express into ameda bags.
Speed and suction controls work well too.
Its also a lot cheaper than the medela equivalent!
Reliable and quick. Cheaper than medela.

Couldn't have breastfed both my babies without Ameda purely yours double electric pump
After having so many problems breastfeeding my baby we decided to get an electric pump. My husband loves to look at all the reviews so i knew that when he told me about this pump it had to be good and it was!
So much pressure is put onto first time mothers about the importance of breastfeeding your baby and frowned upon if you don't..well when she latched i was in excruciating pain even with a shield. I read all the books, read up on google, lactation specialists. Some even said you have to give it time...well i gave it 6 months!! I used this ...Read more

Cheap and nasty
My son was not physically able to latch to my breast so i needed to express in order o feed him breast milk. I bought the ameda purely yours ultra (the new model) on the advice of my lactation consultant as a cheaper alternative to medela freestyle. It stopped working properly after only 10 days. The company I purchased it from, nor ameda directly ( was tested at both) did not honor the warranty claiming it was just the valves that didn't work ... They claim all 4 broke. What after 10 days!!! I followed the cleaning instructions exactly but be...Read more
warned that you have to remove the valves after every use to clean the attachments. If the valves are THAT delicate that they damage even after the gentlest of handling well then this is a major flaw. My pump breaking interrupted my milk supply which in turn ultimately dried up. I blame this pump completely for the fact my milk supply was irreversibly interrupted and could not in good conscious recommend this pump to any other mother at such a critical time in her child's life. My LC no longer recommends this product. I won't even sell this unusable, useless product on eBay as I just couldn't sell such an inferior product to someone else to have the same thing happen to them. I am devastated that my 5 week old child is no longer able to receive my milk Bad warranty service, not sturdy to handily high volume use and cleaning1 comment

Super efficient
The Ameda purely yours Breastpump is a perfect little pump I can easily express 80-100ml from each breast at one time. At first it is a little awkward expressing both breasts at once but considering how much milk you get at the end it's worth doing both breasts at the same time. The instruction manual instructs you on how to use the pump to work towards encouraging another let down after getting the hang of this after using the pump two times I am now able to pump and collect milk from two letdowns in one sitting. The pump makes a few audible s...Read more
queaks but I am not too bothered by it. I was using the Medela hospital grade pump but I have found the Ameda easier to use because of its portability and it's size. I didn't go to the expense of buying the backpack as the machine and necessary equipment are easy to transport in a small bag. I was concerned about the brand as it's not easily found in pharmacies etc but after much research online and talking to the Breastfeeding association I felt reassured that it would be a worthwhile purchase over other brands. The pump was an expensive, this is my second child and I don't intend to have anymore but I am happy that I purchased this efficient pump it's has given me a little more flexibility whilst ensuring my child can be exclusively fed on breastmilk.Similar opinion? Loved it loved it loved it! I initially used the Medela Swing (great pump too) but I was spending too much time being hooked onto the swing. I felt like a cow. My bubba couldn't latch on and was giving me blisters so I was pumping every 4-6 hourly with the Medela initially. Took forever as it was a single pump. Did some research and purchased the Ameda. Saved me so much time. Although it is noisy, I only use it for about 10 minutes per seesion (so the noise is not too bad) opposed to the Medela 20-25 minutes. I am so glad I bought this a...Read more
s I was about to give up expressing then bottle feed as it was taking too much time and I barely have time to rest. Also love the power suction! More powerful than the Swing. But I wouldn't take it out and about with me as it is too bulky. If you need to express all the time, then I recommend Ameda over the Swing. Double pump which saved me a lot of time! Heaps cheaper than Medela, fantastic suction power! Could be used with batteries on the go or plug into the wall Very noisy comparing to the Medela Swing. Very very bulky and ugly looking. Medela Swing is so much more compact. Not widely available. Valve breaks easily, required regular replacement.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fantastic pump. Couldn't believe how much milk I really had. Manual pumps just don't cut the mustard. May seem expensive but if you need one for more than a couple of months, it definitely works out cheaper in the long run to buy than to hire one.
I used a manual pump for a while with little success. This pump is a weight off my shoulders, as the milk just flows right in. I didn't get the whole set with the bag and everything. Not necessary for the extra cost unless you're taking it with you everywhere. I thought I wasn't making much milk when ...Read more

Excellent
It's a fantastic product. I was using a hand pump that barely produced 40ml so when researching electric ones I narrowed it down to this one and the Medela Swing. I chose this because it is a double pump for the same price (you can always choose to use just one side) and the milk doesn't go into the tubing so it's very hygienic and is easy to wash. I didn't get the package with all the extra flanges and bags etc. This pump kit had everything I needed to get going straight away (except for the teats and bottle lids) and I feel so happy that expr...Read more
essing is working for me now! It also seems really worthwhile buying this outright as opposed to hiring one, especially if you're going to have more than one baby. It works brilliantly! My hand pump was rubbish and I got really stressed out when returning to work 3 days per week so I researched electric pumps. The Ameda Purely Yours produced 160ml within 10mins on first use, and that was at midday which I understand isn't the optimum time to express!! It's also portable, comfortable, quiet, easy to clean and I got a really good deal on nursingangel.com.au (and they delivered within 24 hours) The only thing they could improve is to include teats and bottle lids in the package. How strange not to! I expressed straight away but can't use the milk! NB Ameda don't make teats (or presumably lids) so you need to buy Medela ones.1 comment
I can understand wanting lids! But I think the lack of teats would be so that Ameda doesn't violate the WHO code on marketing breastmilk substitutes.

Reliable pump; good price
I had to express-feed my son and used my pump up to 8 times a day. For a non hospital-grade pump it really is fantastic. I would have preferred a Medela (loved the hospital one) but couldn't afford it (this one was on sale for just over half the price of the equivalent Medela). Great control with gradient adjustment for suction (how strongly it pumps) and cycling (how fast it pumps). With smallish nipples, I found purchasing a set of silicone inserts for the diaphragms really helped me to express quickly and was much more comfortable & gentle. ...Read more
Most narrow-necked bottles fit onto the pump so it was easy to express straight into the bottle & put it in the fridge for later. It is somewhat noisy and the quickest cycle setting isn't as quick and smooth as it could be, but it didn't stop me expressing effectively; I just had to get used to it. I was also grateful that it is so light and portable as it meant I was able to take it with me when I went out (e.g. Christmas lunch, etc) so I didn't get uncomfortable from not pumping! Good value, portable, optional battery operation, reliable, easy to clean parts A little noisySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Absolutely fantastic!!! Wouldn't buy any other now.
After having my son 3 months premature, I was required to do a substantial amount of expressing. First I purchased a first years MiPump which broke within 5 months and was no longer under warranty. Secondly, I had a medela mini electric, which was useless. Then I figured I would spend the bit extra and get this pump.
It has been amazing. It is quieter then any other pump I have used. You can adjust the vacuum and the cycles. It's easy to assemble and clean. Since it is a double pump, expressing becomes much faster and you can get more milk s...Read more
ince it encourages your let-down. It also increases milk supply/production. I found this to be just as good as the ones I used in the hospital. I have had no problems what-so-ever with this pump. I absolutely love it. Everything!!! Bit more expensive, but worth every cent.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Efficient and easy to use, parts easy to clean, can also use with batteries
I am finding the Ameda double Breast pump quick and easy to use, parts easy to clean, use with batteries and unit also interchangeable with both Happy Baby and Medela bottles.
I had my twins at Burnside War Memorial hospital in Adelaide and brought the unit For just $230 from the hospital's cafe (Cafe Otto). This appeared to be a well priced double breast pump as other double pumps were close to $500 (Medela).
Inexpensive, reliable, easy to use, option to use batteries
Noisy, but didn't worry me

This pump is fantastic. I got given this pump by my hospital as a early discharge option & am so glad I took it!! It's been a real blessing. I suffered from blocked ducts regularly in the early weeks & this pump was fantastic at helping clear them. I use it every day, especially if my little one sleeps through a feed. Having the dual pumps is excellent, but it's so easy to convert to just one pump as well. Being electric is the real winner though. I had previously bought an Avent manual pump, which is fine if you're only going to use it ...Read more
once in a while, but would kill your arms/hands if you had to use it every day. With the electric, you can just plug it in & watch tv. Very easy to clean. Would highly recommend this to anyone. Good
This pump is obviously a high quality pump. It is effective in pumping breastmilk which is the most important thing. It was not exactly cheap ($400) but money well spent as I have not been disappointed. It is small and compact and easy to travel with and I can see myself using the cooler bag and carry bag for years.
Simple to clean, simple to use, effective, BPA free collecting equipment, comes with cooler bag and carry bag - which is very stylish for a breastpump bag!
The pump itself is very daggy in appearance.

Now on my 2nd baby, I've spent many hours with this pump, and it is like a reliable friend. I know it's going to work, be hassle free, clean easily and never get in the way. The whole kit isn't necessary if you're only going to pump from home, but it's great to have just in case, because you never know what circumstances you may find yourself in. A friend recommended this above another brand because you don't have to wash as much with this one, and she was right. It's small, discrete & reliable. Perfect.

I borrowed this from a friend and found it very useful when I returned the one I hired to the chemist. It did a very good job. I never used it as a double pump, one of the nipple guards was dropped and it broke before I got it. The bag was useful and it kept bottles cold while travelling.
It is a very efficient, small pump. I found that my milk flowed easily when using this pump. I left the base unit on the dining room table and it was not obvious to guests what it actually was - very discreet.
It makes a very obvious pumping noise when in use. The medela I tried was much quieter. It makes it difficult to use at night if you are feeling full.

I have been feeding my son purely expressed milk and would be lost without this pump. It is easy to use and delivers excellent results. Despite the price, I would recommend this pump to others in a heartbeat.
Easy to use, great suction. Not too noisy.
Was VERY expensive, however has been worth it.

I love this pump, its gentle, very easy to use, set up, adjust speed and suction. Washing it is pretty simple too.
I never had much of an issue with the double pumping as the flanges would stay on when on correctly and two 250ml tall bottles and a cushion would prop it up to hold it. I also found they sat in my breastfeeding bra which supported it quite nicely.
The machine is durable, easy to clean, reasonably quiet (especially for a double).

Was able to express much more milk, and much more quickly, with this pump than another brand that I tried previously. Highly recommended. If you want to buy an electric pump and pay the extra that it costs you might as well get one that can do both breasts at once.
Can dual pump. Good range of variable suction strength/speed. Good quality, solid feel. Helps express a lot, faster.
Did not come with caps for the lids of the bottles. Need to decant milk into something else to store it - which you'd do anyway if expressing regularly but it would ...Read more

I had huge problems with my milk production & was using Tommee Tippee manual pump (which was very uncomfortable and a waste of money- it may suit someone who has a good flow of milk)I also tried medela, which was ok but the ameda is heaps better.
