Very good card, very good service.
I have had a number of cards in the past and found most apps or services lacked in some way. Not American Express, easy and great to deal with by phone or app. The flight included is great value as well.

Has good potential
If you use the domestic flight each year then it can really be worth it. Even more so if you get a decent point earn. The Local Champions program is good too and Amex is slowly being accepted in more locations. It would be better if the foreign transaction fee was lower.

Great if you sign on with a sign on bonus
The customer service is great, 24/7 and very friendly. The rewards are also great, there are a lot of availabilities for the reward flight and the earn rate for points isn't bad either (1.25 per $1).

Good AMEX for Velocity Points
We have had this AMEX for a few years now, it's rewarded us well in Velocity points and travel insurance. There are other benefits such as a free domestic flights per year and lounge access however we never use them. If you fly a lot with Virgin Australia this card is worthwhile, you receive 2.25 points for every dollar spent with Virgin Australia - 1.25 points per $1 for other spends. The fee per year is $375 so you really need to make this card work for you. Overall its a great AMEX with great benefits.

The worst credit card we have ever had
Be very cautious with AMEX. We have lodged a formal complaint with AFCA after they continued to bill and charge us, though we were locked out of the system, they did not offer our free domestic flights, stating "there were none left" and they did not reward my husband the points after a referral link was sent to them.
We were harassed daily for 2 months with up to 13 calls from New Delhi and Manila, including weekends and at workplace. They are unethical and unscrupulous and if you are paying everything on time as we were and they are not makin...Read more

Great Rewards Program
The Amex Velocity Platinum Card is excellent for earning Velocity Points fast. Although Amex isn't accepted everywhere or there is a transaction fee applicable, I am still able to use my card for the majority of my everyday purchases helping me to accumulate points faster. We have had this card for less than 12 months and already have enough points for 2 of us to fly business class to Fiji. The online account is easy to use and payments are straightforward on line too. I would definitely recommend this card if you shop on credit and pay your monthly balance in full.

Amex Lounge - BE AWARE
Be aware that the Amex lounge is in the International Airport section.
You have to go through security to get in. Unless you are on a international flight you can't use these passes.

Good card for earning Velocity points
This is a good card for earning Velocity points. In my opinion it is the best one on the market. The high annual fee is offset by the free flight each year. Living in Perth this can get me to Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne. Check the PDS to see where you can go for free from your local capital city.

The Best Rewards Earner!!!
You can't look past American Express when you want the best rewards. This card has the highest earn rate of any credit card in Australia currently. Whilst Amex isn't accepted everywhere, it is accepted at most major retailers so I use this for about 90% of my purchases. App works brilliantly on your mobile and sign up Velocity bonus is always a bonus.

Worth it!
The card that’s provided the most rewards.
I applied for this card because of an offer of Velocity points. Normally I don’t play the incentive games; I just go for no fee, low rate cards.
This card has a pretty high interest rate and a steep annual fee ($375)...however, it provides me a return flight between capital cities once per year, airport lounge passes and travel insurance. This would cost me double what I’m paying for the annual fee.
The minimum $3000 limit is higher than what I would like but the benefits far outweigh the negatives....Read more
