Order one after using my mates and it made a delicious meal but the First unit arrived faulty with a low water alarm. After a few weeks of terrible communication with their support team and utter annoyance I finally had a new ANOVA on the way. I tested it straight away and seemed to work fine but when my partner first used it it boiled the water while the temp read out said 0.0c. I didn't see this happen and couldn't get it get to do it again so I put I down to my partner using it incorrectly. Now a few months and about 10 successful cooks I wi...Read more
tnessed it do the exact same thing, was set to 55 and the temperature said it was 0.0c but it was 98c and ruined my brisket. I am so done with this product, I don't trust it whatsoever and I'm extremely discouraged from going through customer service because of my painful experience last time.Purchased in January 2021 for $150.00.

Wonderful product wonderful company
The clamp holding the Anova snapped. On contacting Anova a new clamp was sent free of charge no questions. Love using the Anova and have recommended it to several friends.

Amazing, simple, easy sous vide
I've had my Anova for two years and it is great. Easy to use, doesn't take up any space, and it just works. Early-on, sous vide meant big costly equipment. Anova makes sous vide slow cooking easy in a normal kitchen. Watch online for good deals now and then - sometimes they are discounted massively.
Purchased in April 2021 for $218.00.

Amazing
Ordered with free shipping and arrived at home with express delivery one day after.
I just tried it out with three beautiful salmon fillets and it gave an outstanding result! Really competing with a restaurant.

4 dead anova precision cooker in 2 years
where is the zero star rating
I use this occasionally as a home cook, and for the last 2 years, the official australian version Anova wifi device keep dying on me in various different way - just stopped, keep heating the water till too hot, the temperature is wrong, the pump stop circulating.
I keep getting replacement unit as warranty. I cannot fault the warranty service, they are fast and by now, don't even ask questions by the time I have the 2nd failed anova precision cooker.
what I don't understand is how can Anova precision cooker is...Read more
so unreliable; so temperamental. I never use it without an insulated covered 15L container, never more than 68C, no more than 72 hrs of cook. I dry the device standing up, I look after my precision cooker baby. STILL, I receive the last replacement under the warranty (4th one) last week because the 3rd one died 2 weeks ago. I don't know what I will do when this one again dies.Purchased in May 2021 at anonvaculinery.com for $219.00.

Doesn't last more than a year
I had two of those devices - one lasted 7 months, second lasted 9 months.
The first one had two problems: it was shaking above 80 degrees C, and temperature display was jumping chaotically above and below set temperature. I managed to return it since it was under 1 year warranty.
The second one showed 0 degrees C regardless of the temperature of water and didn't change when it is heating up.
I didn't manage to return the second one, because apparently Anova doesn't refund the replacement devices (the devices that have been provided as a repla...Read more

Easy to cook perfect meats
It is a good device to have the meat cooked perfectly. But you need to prepare something more, such as different sizes of vacuum sealing bags, other optional things e.g. Polycarbonate Square Storage Container to leave it at the corner, Balls BPA Free to keep the temperature, stop evaporation and save electricity consumption, Kitchen Food Frame Separator - Vacuum Sous Vide Rack to have the bags in place...

I've cooked so many things using this gadget and it really delivers each time and everything cooks to perfection providing you follow the recipes or know your required temp.

Customer service vaudeville
My unit was faulty: I was getting the alarm "water below minimal level". I get it, problems happen, and I contacted customer service. Which turned out to be a big joke. Live chat operator told me that this service is available 24/7. The very same evening it turned to be false. Email support demanded the list of my details, from the order number to my home address and then disappeared for three days. Eventually I filled in the return request and received the following reply: "This is a confirmation that we received your return request. Please no...Read more
te that it's a busy time for our Returns and Exchanges department, so your request will be answered outside the usual 24 hour window; however, we will help as soon as possible. Your patience is greatly appreciated!" Why would the middle of October be a busy time? Either the Exchange/Returns Department is poorly staffed or it is overloaded with requests. It's up to you. This is a very popular machine and the most customers seem to be happy with the device. However, if you get a faulty device don't expect the company to be helpful. UPDATE. Today - a week from the initial purchase - I received the replacement unit. Haven't tested it yet. UPDATE No.2. I used it couple of times. It works ok, as expected. Heats up the water fairly quickly and is quiet. Controls are a little complicated though. I don't like that I have to run it via my phone. I also couldn't connect it to my wi-fy. Which is not really a big deal. While dealing with Anova I bought another sous vide unit, AIO, a Korean device. It does the same job without complicated set up. It also includes the vacuum attachment. As I don't need two sous vide devices I am giving one to my daughter. She is getting the Anova.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great device
Fantastic product. Cooks meat to perfection every time.
We have cooked chicken, beef, lamb and pork with it. Meat comes out so tender and juicy.
Only downfall is the app which crashes often.
Excellent otherwise.
Highly recommend it

Quality, Simple, Perfect Steaks
This piece of kitchen equipment is simply impressive; there is no other way to cook a perfect steak consistently, every single time, without fail. Even a novice couldn’t go wrong with this simple device; turn it on (pump will be heard), turn the wheel until desired temperature, that’s it.
I purchased an Anova Precision Cooker WiFi version in August 2015, and it is a delight to use, so accurate in maintaining its temperature, which once reached, it doesn’t move from, not even 0.1 of a degree (I use a lid on the container).
While it can be...Read more

Versatile and good value
I'm really quite happy with this purchase - got it on sale, and it does exactly what it is supposed to with an easy-to-use interface. Temperature control is very good (well under a degree) and it has no issues heating up a 15L esky. In addition to even cooking of thick steaks and breaking down tougher cuts like brisket, the temperature control is useful in homebrewing as well.

Sous Vide Everything!
I love this machine!
Simply put this is the best cooking appliance in my kitchen. I have never owned a Sous Vide before so I can't say that this is the best one you could get but I looked at a bunch and I don't think I would buy another one given the option.
Pros:
- Small and easy to put away (some of these things can be huge)
- Heats water quickly and circulates well
- Wifi/Internet enabled lets me set it up in the morning and activate it from work!
- You can cook nearly anything with it (if you have the time)
- Any kind of meat, mashed potatoes, eggs (best poached eggs you can make), jams, cheese, pickles...
- Versatility: You can attach this to any size vessel depending on your needs...Read more

Unreliable. Poor support service. Hassle with Australian Warranty
My unit failed after less than 4 months. Customer support is in US there a major hassle. Having a debate with them about whether they will comply with Australian consumer law.

For cooking large lumps of meat it is hard to beat!
While cook most of the family meals I am never going to win any awards for my skills in the kitchen. That said the food I have been producing with my Anova sous vide machine (Xmas gift 2017) has been amazing! It is easy to get great results without much effort and no risk of accidentally overcooking....
I tend to use this prior to barbecuing most meat. It ensures the meat is perfectly cooked throughout (and I do mean perfectly). I then get my charcoal bbq as hot as I can and scorch the outside for less than a minute or two giving it that fa...Read more
ntastic bbq flavour without under/over cooking inside. It is also good for making cheaper/tougher more flavoursome cuts of meat tender because you can cook them for hours until they are melt in the mouth. This does not come with its own tank of water. However, I purchased a 10L tub from Tas catering supplies for $8.99 and cut a hole in the lid, job done. I didn't envisage ever using the app or wifi as overcooking is not really an issue with sous vide however it is very useful to get things up to temperature if I am out and forget to turn it on. (I want this feature for my oven!!!) The app needs some work but generally works well.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Something special indeed
I watch a lot of food prep videos online, and sous vide was nothing new. I initially wanted to get hold of ChefSteps Joule cooker, but they don't retail to Australia, no good. And, I watch a lot of stuff off www.seriouseats.com, they use the Anova, deal done.
So, I bought myself a xmas gift directly from au.anovaculinary.com paying via paypal, the unit arrived in the post about four days later as I had checked auspost delivery. Chose the bigger wattage item for $164 AUD.
First impressions: quality boxing effort, looks good. The unit is la...Read more
rger than you might expect, steel base with a matt finish black plastic top. Display is larger and easy to read. Good quality finish to the item. Au plug as indicated in the order. Filled up a stock pot with cold water, set the unit in place, good solid hold from the screw-in fastener, the unit didn't move when in use. Test cook time, the old culprit for dry stringy horror stories, the full sized Chicken Breast™. Seasoned full chicken breast (just one) in a clip seal bag with a little olive oil and herbs, set for the app option of 65.6 degrees c for one hour, initially stuffed up the timer as its set for hours and minutes not minutes and seconds, my fault not the unit.Similar opinion? Anova is a winner
I purchased the Wi-Fi version (with no intention of using Wi-Fi, nor Bluetooth as in the other model - I have no idea why I would want to) simply because it was the more powerful (900w). 900w is plenty as once water has reached temperature (I use some water from a kettle to get things started and help it along) it takes little to maintain it. I use big containers (cooking 5 kg or more at a time) and it is fine. Pretty schmick interface on unit and easy to read. Timer is a little odd in that it beeps, but doesn't turn unit off (so is basically a gizmo). But love it so much I am going to buy another.

I was able to use it twice.....and it stopped heating up!
So sad, I read all theses great reviews, but they all rely on the product reliability.....Which sad to say is a fail.
When you buy a product that you rely on for a dinner party, do you really want to have to implement ....PLAN B.........NO.
Readers do not focus on how the food turns out...all sousvide machines heat up and so on,so you get great results....but if the machine does not work...WELL ....it’s over...broke down after 2 uses.

Great Results
I have had my Anova Sous Vide for over 4 weeks and have cooked, steak, pork and fish. The results have been very satisfactory. Steak, Fish (salmon) and pork Chops took about 1-2 hours. I did a pork belly for 10 hours. For each attempt, the meat was very tender. All meats were 'seared' on a hot stove top cast iron frypan to achieve a crust. I purchased a $5, 15 litre plastic storage container from Reject Shop and use this for my water bath. I have not used the wifi or bluetooth yet as I just set the temperature and time on the unit itself.

It had potential but was sooo sad through manufacturing issues.
I purchased the anova precision cooker from America after reading alllllll reviews . How disappointed I was when I received it in the mail. The plug didn't suit Aust 240v ( even though specified in order and blew up). They sent a replacement which had a uk plug on it,.....( which also didn't fit Australian voltage). Finally,,,,,,,, I got one appropriate for Australia. Managed 4 brilliant sous vide gourmet meals from it to be finally beaten by the dodgy fan piston that shifted out of place and kept banging on the side of the sous vide cover caus...Read more
