- Great speakers for a tablet Somewhere in between: - Gesture control for most things *It's hard to make this a con since physical buttons are disappearing from most of our tech. Cons: - Heavier than other equivalent sized iPads - Hard to hold at times (see more on this below) I'll start out by saying that I no longer put the cost of apple products as a con because they just are. This shouldn't come as a surprise to you if you're researching buying one. When I research things, I already know what they cost, I want to know if they're worth it. In my experience, my apple products have lasted for anywhere from 5-10 years when taken care of including iPads and phones, so you are getting what you're paying for. This particular model of iPad has the build quality that I have come to expect from Apple and I expect to use it regularly for the next 5+ years, either directly or within my household. Moving on! The iPad Pro 11" is a great little unit that COULD replace your laptop computer... but probably won't. Like all tablets it is made for consumption, not production. Some people pull it off, but you buy these things for their portability which means that any keyboard you attach is going to be compact and that tapping the screen with your big clumsy finger isn't as precise as a mouse pointer tip. You can connect a mouse via bluetooth but that sacrifices some of your portability. You can get the Apple Pencil but it's another thing to keep track of and, in a way, this also reduces your portability and freedom from clutter. For me, I want to use a tablet on the couch to look things up, shop or keep in touch while I watch TV. I take mine when I travel instead of packing my laptop now because it's smaller, lighter, charges via USB and has better battery life. I CAN login to my work server to do things but if I'm honest, it's a pest. So, when I sit down to write this review, compose a letter, touch up my resume or produce anything of great substance, I am much more comfortable on my laptop. Now, with all that said, I do have the Apple Smart Keyboard Folio (what a name) and it is actually quite nice (reviewed separately). You can type fairly easily on it and when I'm travelling I love that it gives me a bit of my laptop experience with increased probability but it's a lot like 2 in 1 shampoo & conditioner - Good when you're travelling but not what you'd use at home. So why buy the thing, so far I haven't exactly explained why I give it 4 stars. As a Tablet, it is excellent. It's the fastest tablet that I have ever used and despite not having the same specs as a Microsoft Surface it is actually much nicer to use. Apple's closed system allows them to ensure that most of the apps that you can get on it are optimised to run well. If you're not an apple user, I'm sure you will have your own opinion on this but hey, you're hear to read my opinion, so there you have it. When comparing it to a Gen 2 iPad Pro there is a noticeable bump in speed and responsiveness and I do like the face recognition and gesture control (somewhat in spite of myself). The speakers are great and while they are still small and tinny and you won't be chucking this thing on your shoulder and walking down the street pumping your jams for all to hear - circa 1980s boom box, they are a noticeable improvement over previous generations of iPad. The cameras are good for video conferencing but not for photography. This would have to be the worlds most frustrating camera for getting out there and snapping up photos so I'm happy to say that the rear camera quality is far more than I need for the rare occasion when I happen to be holding my tablet and feel that I really must capture a moment. The transition to not having a home button is something we all just have to get used to. So this leaves us at a point where it's a great tablet that, for the right person, could replace a laptop and is, what I would describe as apple's best tablet yet! So what's the downside? Why did it miss out on that 5th precious star my perspective? Surprisingly, and this didn't occur to me until I had used it for a few months, it is harder to hold than the older iPads! I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't even figure out why this was. My partner finally pointed out to me that I kept dropping it on myself while using it in bed before going to sleep (bad habit I'm sure). She would be there with her Gen 2 iPad Pro (sucker) but didn't seem to drop it the way I kept doing. She aptly pointed out that because the screen on this model goes nearly to the edges, you are always trying to hold on to it by about a half thumb width (your thumb may vary). This all seems really trivial to me writing it out for you, but I like to know the practical things when I read a review and I can tell you, that I have dropped this thing on myself enough times to feel it is worth mentioning. I have never dropped it in an important way or caused any damage (to the iPad). Bottomline: - Apple's best iPad yet, totally worth the money (in my opinion), easy to drop on yourself in bed.

I have to say this is probably the best IPAD ive ever owned.
The size of the screen is the best but it seems much faster than the previous model.
Apps seem to load much quicker and the connectivity to networks is very smooth and seems
to just connect effortlesy. thank you opts great deal.

I carry my iPad Pro with me nearly every day. As a photographer it allows me to edit photos on the road + with the keyboard case (optional extra) you can type like a laptop so responding to emails or writing that report is super easy.

The Gen-2 pencil is expensive but if you can justify getting one it’s totally worth it. Especially if you scribble notes or use brush strokes (drawing / photo editing).

the average home user. I opted for the 11 inch with 64gb & 4G. If you use mostly cloud services and stream your videos, then you won’t need the larger ($$$) storage sizes. My advice, save that money and buy the case & pencil instead.

Great gadget in the market

Husband bought me IPad Air generation 3 cellular and wifi. I used it for work as I need the camera for documenting as well as quick typing for online portal reporting. The processor is super quick. The photo quality is very clear and video is great too !!! The apps and browser are great and working smooth.

Purchased in May 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Electronics.
