How do i access the fan for cleaning purposes

I’m not sure about your model, but with the IS900 model the technician had to pull out the whole heater out of the fireplace to access the back where the fan is located. It’s not a 5 minute job, as there are other panels you have to unscrew to get to the fan. You would probably be better off calling in a technician. I hope this helps

Dear techs.
I have a 2004 FS100, (s/n 33450522527) which recently has failed to complete its startup cycle for the front burner until I have restarted it about 6-8 times (using remote or manual switch makes no difference). The red front burner LED in the panel blinks for about 20 seconds then stops - but no HSI glow after that. After the first 4-5 attempts the front HSI glows and then goes out, and no gas flow. After a few more goes the gas solenoid clicks in after the front HSI has glowed, and I then have a constant flame. No more problems after that until the heater is shut down again for several hours. Other than that all heater and remote operations work perfectly, including the rear burner cycle. New batteries fitted to the remote and receiver box, and the red LED in the receiver box blinks away happily.

Any ideas?
Malcolm

It sounds like your pressure switch is not engaging, there is a l.e.d with a picture of a fan or it looks like a 4 leaf clover on your display panel if this light does not come on or fades out the heater will not ignite because your pressure switch will not be engaging, this can either be a partial blockage in the flue or a sticky pressure switch so you may want to inspect your flue or if necessary replace your pressure switch, if at any time you see an HSI glow and no ignition you have a valve problem which means you may need to replace a coil or a circuit board on your white rogers gas valve, it is situated at the left-hand side of the heater opposite the convection fan it will have two coils sitting on it they will be black or white in color and the board will be in a grey plastic cover on the valve, you can purchase all parts if required from Aurora there contact phone numbers are 1300 388 953 or (03) 9795-8895 they will also be able to guide you on any of the above-mentioned proccedures, best rgards Technician Turtledove.............

I have a FSC100 model purchased in 2008.It has just started tripping out the RCD in my switchboard when the back burner tries to ignite. After switching off the fire and resetting the RCD, the fire can be switched on again using the front burner only. I have checked the ignition coil resistance and it seems o.k. I suspect the rear gas valve and/or its associated circuitry. I would welcome your suggestions.

I telephoned 039795 8895 for service in Sydney and was given only one technicians number to call, I later rang back for a second technicians number and was told that they did not have one.
What a poor service backup. What choice does a customer have?

This problem is quite easily rectified and can be corrected by any gas fitter or even your self, the procedure is quite simple, the rear HSI will need to be cleaned and if that doesn't correct it, it will simply need to be replaced which is very easy to do, you don't need a specific listed Tech anyone with half a clue can work it out, so there is plenty of service back up offering very good customer service, these heaters especially and some other brands are designed in a way that they can be repaired by anyone who knows how to use a screwdriver, sorry for the late reply but have been of work for some time due to illness, you may have already fixed your problem, also any tech has access to Aurora,s Tech support team for guidance over the phone which is an excellent service, if you have any more questions I'm happy to assist, best regards Turtledove independent heating and cooling advice.............................................

We have an Auroroa FS100 (installed by previous owners in 2007). We have the instruction manual but there is nothing on how to change Farenheit to Celcius on the remote control. Also have issues whereby we now switch it on and off at the wall rather than deal with the remote. Most days we have to switch it on then wait (and wait). Doesn't work so switch off and repeat the exercise. May take up to 4 times before it works. Should we call in a service tech?

1 answer

Hello, Terry, you may just have the instruction manual for the heater, you may require the separate instructions for the remote which you can get from us if you have the remote with the touchscreen you just need to hold the up and down keys on the screen at the same time and that should change it to Celsius, in regards to turning your heater off at the power point is not recommended and if done while the heater is still warm can cause damage to the appliance, you may just need to relearn the receiver or just try bypassing the the remote and see how it performs manually, its probably best to give us a call when you are in front of your heater and we can guide you through the process or give you a number for a tech, our contact numbers are 1300 388 953 or (03) 9795 8895 hope this has been of some help to you, look forward to your call best regards from tech support at Aurora climate systems.

Hello, Geoff is your flue fan LIGHT coming on and staying on, how old is the heater, do you know the serial number, do you know the model number of the pressure switch, do you know if the hot surface igniters have any fractures in them, also do the two igniters have there own inline fuse, these are just a few of the questioned we need the answers to, its a lot easier if you can give us a phone call when you are in front of the heater so we can guide you through what to look for, our contact numbers are 1300 388 953 or (03) 9795 8895, hope this has been of some help look forward to your call best regards from tech support at Aurora climate systems.

Hi, have called and now waiting on a call back from Marcel. For the record however, my heater is a 14/7/2004 serial no 3345052264. Power light turns on, there is no remote fitted. when either roller switch is turned on, leds light up and fan starts. The flue fan led also illuminates but after 30-40 seconds, maybe less, the burner leds and flue led turn off. Nothing more happens until you repeat the process. The FSI's appear to be in good working order. I have replaced both inline fuses and checked them for continuity. Fuses (both ) in the rear control box are also good. Unfortunately the local tech is unavailable until late August which is pretty disappointing in the middle of a cold Mt Gambier winter. 9 degrees today!

Marcel rang back today and was exceedingly helpful. Exceptional knowledge of the workings of these heaters and happy to talk me through the issues.Disconnected the pressure switch( attached to the fan housing at front) Blew into it to make sure it wasn't stuck. Seemed all good but left the clear plastic pipe unattached as advised. Heater then fired up immediately . Back burner working perfectly but front burner not keen to stay alight. Will check the front flame rod later today- pretty sure it may be touching the steel base plate where it comes through the heater base plate. Pretty happy at this stage!

Hello Luke if you see your rear burner physically lighting for two or three seconds and then goes out and tries again that would be a flame sensing issue and you may just need to clean the flame censor which we can guide you over the phone on how to do this,if you see your rear igniter coming on and its not lighting, like no gas coming through then it could be a gas supply problem you can check this buy rotating the coils on the gas valve, its probably best to give us a call and we can assist you over the phone on how to rectify your heater or put you in touch with a tech if required our contact numbers are 1300 388 953 or (03) 9795 8895 hope this has been of some help to you look forward to your reply best regards from tech support at Aurora Climate Systems the manufacturer of the Archer gas log fire.

My Remote refuses to "talk ' to the receiver despite constantly " re learning " Can I overide this by operating the heater manually ? if so . How ? Serial # 3835858211 2008 model . Thanks

To be able to use the heater manually, you have to switch the receiver box to the "ON" position. Also check the betteries in the receiver box, as they may need replacing

San

Thanks for that . I did actually resort to doing that with fingers crossed . Luckily it works . Receiver box is electric - NO batteries . We have given up on the remote control now . I think the thing itself is in need of replacing . Using it manually is not a problem for us though

Hi..I live near Cambridge, NZ and own an Archer FSP 100...apart from replacing a gas solenoid it has performed well. Recently however it developed a new fault where the flue fan starts with turning on the mains and the 'purging' light on the display panel flashes. Also on the display panel is the 'fan' light which starts initially, but then fades out before the purge or start up cycle ends. When the flashing light stops, (and then usually the element lights, the gas valve opens, and the flame starts.) Now, when the flashing light stops...nothing. Fan keeps going but nothing happens and I need to turn the heater off. Local gas people are reluctant to deal with this heater so, any thoughts on the problem please? Thankyou and Kind regards....Noel

Hi there
the problem with your heater could be, either a blockage in the flue, or water in the pump container due to a faulty pump.
If you would like to forward your telephone number we could contact you by phone and ask some more questions while you are in front of the heater

We have had our Archer for a few years now and when working properly has been a good heater, but we have had a number of problems with it.One of the main problems has been with the seal around the door glass paneling not sealing very well.Over the past couple of months we have noticed a bad odour coming from the heater and a build up of soot under the top panel which has burnt into the metal it self.Has anyone any ideas on how to fix this problem? Chris

1 answer
Aurora
Aurora A.Aurora

Hello Chris the seal on your door does not affect the combustion of your heater if you look at the back of your heater you will see a rectangular hole where air is sucked in for combustion so they are not a sealed unit and work as a vacuum so any openings would suck air in if you are having problems with soot forming in the firebox, heatexchanger or the condensate you need to check your burner bar position log placement and gas pressure, if you drop the gas pressure by 50 to 70% the heater will begin to clean it self up over time also if the seal is coming loose on the glass it means it has not been handled correctly when removing or replacing the door, hope this has been of some help or you could call us for advice or a tech person in your area it is a simple issue to resolve Phone Numbers 1300 388 953 or (03) 9795 8895 Best regards Aurora climate systems Tech Support.
