Great and efficient machine
I bought from Harvey Norman who always gives me great service. Love how this machine shows me how much time is left in my wash. I use the Fast 30 for lightly soiled clothes and the 1hour anti stain quick. Both do an awesome job and machine is quiet. Like how I can change water temperature as awell as spin cycle. Would recommend this machine.
Purchased in July 2021 at Harvey Norman for $799.00.

Happy chappy
Set it too high to start and it went for 3 hours. Wow that was a shock. Have since learned to do lighter washes. Only down side is a clump of hardened powder remains after every wash. Been told to halve what the washing powder says to use. Haven’t tested that yet. Can’t tell what phase it is up to in the cycle and that is a little frustrating. I was also attracted to the 5 year warranty but will check that it is accurate.
Purchased in July 2021 at Harvey Norman for $895.00.

So far so good
I purchased this machine on the Harvey Norman Sales Rep's recommendation. I had never heard of the brand, but he told me it was excellent quality for the $800-900 price range, and came with a 5 year warranty. It also had functionality that appealed - key lock, antibacterial rubber seal, good wash cycle options - and I liked the appearance. When I came home and read the negative reviews on Ariston, and realised that Harvey Norman had a vested interest in the company, I thought I had made a big mistake. As it had not yet been delivered, I went ba...Read more
ck to the store and challenged them as to whether they were selling me a lemon. The Sales Rep gave me the option to choose a different machine, but stood by his advice to recommend the Ariston (he did admit that an earlier model from Ariston had been a bit of a lemon). I have now used the Ariston for a few different cycles, and so far so good. It is quieter than my old Electrolux, has good wash cycle times (<2h), and is easy to use. Overall I am really happy - if it breaks down or I have any problems, I will definitely update my review accordingly!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

So far so good.
I purchased this machine based on the recommendation by a salesperson from Harvey Norman (with no written review available at time of purchase) and convinced by its 60 months manufacturer warranty plus additional 24 months product care by Harvey Norman. I'm happy with it's wide door that can easily fit larger items into the machine, compare with most other brands and I usually use Fast 30 and Anti-stain quick (1hr) programmes. These 2 programmes doesn't allow you to use the extra rinse and intensive/delicate buttons which give less flexibility ...Read more
and you can only choose other programmes with washing cycle for more than 2.5 hrs. Also due to it's water efficiency rating (4.5 stars), the water used is very little (too little) during the washing cycle, which means if you include bath towels in these 2 programmes (with 3-4kg load max), sometimes those towels are even not all wet if they are very water absorbing cotton. As for it's noise and vibration, the noise is acceptable for using inside a laundry room while the vibration is less ideally performed (you better remove items placed above the machine during it's drying cycle or they may fall). In general, this is a fair washing machine that would be suitable to do basic wash with acceptable quality.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

should have read reviews before purchasing this lemon
worst washing machine ever, 2 months old clothes come out dripping wet, loud bearing noise developing from rear of machine, harvey norman sales con points to the 5yr warranty sticker on it but when you read warranty form it only has 2yr warranty, 5 yr applies to other ariston products, false advertising, stay well clear of ariston front loaders, just read other reviews to confirm the poor quality of their products

Hi,
I have just inherited this 1 year old machine. I am quite impressed after always having top loaders, with one BIG exception. What on earth does it do to towels? Mine come out hard and scratchy no matter what I do. I refuse to use fabric softener as I have never needed to before. Any clues?
Thanks

Hi Traci,
You don't need to use fabric softener, as this could make the towels worse. The detergent is sticking to the towels and not washing out properly so it is best to add a cup of vinegar (with a bit of ammonia) to the fabric softener compartment, and then put in your detergent as normal. The ammonia will make sure that the detergent won't stick to the fabric, and the vinegar will make sure the minerals and other chemicals won't stick to the towels. The towels should come out softer and fluffier.
Regards
Thanks. So did a load of towels yesteday. Used a litle less detergent than the recommended dose, added vinegar (no ammonia as I wouldnt be impressed if I had to add 2 different things when my top loader does the job with just detergent). To give the towels their best chance of coming out soft, I washed at 30 degrees and reduced the spin down to 600rpm (even though my top loader spins at 950rpm). I gave each towel a good shake before hanging on the line and also hung them in full shade as I know the sun can make them stiff). The result? Well as I type this, they have all been spritzed with a little water and are in the dryer in an ettempt to soften them up. Some of them felt like they could almost stand up by themselves.
I would like to keep this machine, but as I wash towels a lot (pool, beach etc), and dont really want to be using the dryer every time, it looks like I will have to pass this along to someone that doesnt mind scratchy stiff towels, unless there are any other suggestions.
Update - i had a few towels that had just been used once for the pool. This was my chance to see if my laundry liquid might be the problem. I put them on a warm fast 30 wash with just vinegar, and reduced the spin speed right down to 400. The result was the same - scratchy towels.
My conclusion is that this machine can’t wash towels and have them come out soft. It’s not my towels as I have since washed the same ones in my top loader and they are back to soft again, with just laundry liquid.
Unless someone from Ariston can suggest something that works, i would say that i am glad I didn’t pay for this machine and I wouldn’t recommend anyone does unless they like really stiff, scratchy towels.

Brought a stand for washing machine holds up to 100 kgs was wondering weight of this machine cant find this info any where not listed in dimensions or specs.

Hi Denise,
You're right, I couldn't find that info on the specs either: https://www.harveynorman.com.au/ariston-8kg-front-load-washing-machine.html
Hubby assures me it's under 100kg. At a guess it's probably around 50-60kg.

Hi Denise,
Our specs say this washer weighs 74kg, so a stand that holds 100kg should be fine.

I have only had my machine for a couple of months now and its not washing my clothes properly. They are coming out dirty. My whites are the worst they have ever been. Even putting them thought Anti-Stain cycle which goes for 3 hrs. I have even tried swapping laundry detergents. Any suggestions??

Hi Lee,
It is difficult to tell if there is an issue with the machine without seeing it. It would be best to give Arisit Technical Support a call on 1300 762 219 to see if they can recommend a fix or if they think they should send someone out to have a look.
