Excellent value in a sturdy good looking electric bike.
I purchased a Aseko Tourney from Pro Electric in Aug 2014. It arrived quickly (to WA) and was fairly easy to assemble. I live in a hilly country area and it was the hills that put me off any sort of bike riding. I found the tourney to be a sturdy (Im 90 kgs) bike with a very comfortable seat, easy to learn how to use and excellent at getting up hills. My street is some 700m long, fairly steep with a gravel uphill drive for another 70m or so. The Tourney managed all this on 3 power and 5 or 6 speed with my only input a continuous pedal.

e local area is all up and downhill with stretches of flat road and the tourney managed a 15 to 20k ride with no issues. Ive just sold this bike today - almost a year to the day since purchasing it and made most of my money back. Im now going back to Pro Electric to buy a better model for my height (163cm) as the shorter Tourney was still too high for me to comfortably get on & off of. Service was good & the sales guy is always ready to help if there is a problem. Only problem I have is with the information supplied on the website regarding the bike, seat & handlebars minimum & maximum heights for ALL bikes. If I had this information to start with I would have chosen a more appropriate bike for my height & probably wouldn't have had that accident on the gravel... I have mentioned this to the owner, don't know if he will make the info available though.

Perfect design,
Balanced bike (feel like riding normal push bike)
Best value of money
Good salesmanship
Every word for the bike on its website is true.
The only regret is why haven't I bought it before.
I recommend this for those who want to ride to work daily.

Does exactly what it claims
Very few times do you come across a product that is able to deliver what it advertises. In this instance I was pleasantly surprised that the bicycle exceeded all my expectations. In recent times I have put on quite a bit of weight and every time I tried to get on my regular bicycle I would find myself getting sick within 2 weeks due to over exertion. The electric bike was able to assist me over the hills and allowed me to pedal when the road flattened out. I used the electric bike for about 2 months and switched over to my normal bike. on I have dropped from 105Kg to 88Kg and I am cycling close to 200Km a week on my normal bike. I could not have done it without the initial help of the electric bike. My wife is now using the bike to join me on rides and she too will be swapping it for a normal bike when the time comes. Then the bike is off to grandma ! As far as the bike goes I never ran the battery flat and I cycled up to 40Km through undulating terrain. I never came across a hill where the bike could not assist me getting up. I did have a problem where the pedal broke off the crank but the part was replaced immediately with no questions asked. I would highly recommend this product. Pro’s Good battery life Good motor Comfortable to ride Good aftersales service

After some research of the electric bike market I finally decided on an Aseako Alto electric bike which I bought over the phone from Pro Electric Bikes - it was a hard decision as there are quite a few choices in the electric bike market and the prices vary significantly.
Assembly took my husband and I about 30 - 40 mins.

Just bought a Tourney with the 250w motor and upgraded to a 15ah battery. The service, buying the bike and emails from the distributer re delivery were very prompt and easy to deal with. It took me about 3 hours to put it all together ( in the lounge room ). I took it for a couple of hours ride last Sunday. It went well, but I do have a couple of issues.
Very strong well engineered bike, comfortable and easy to use within the 1st 5 minutes. - great price.

Very similar feel to a surfboard ride.
I test rode my new (250W) Tourney for a km or two, just to get the feel of it. Then I gave it a try at lowest power. Then medium. Then full bore.
I can only liken the feeling to that moment on a surfboard when the wave is caught, and you have this sudden surge of power moving you in towards the beach. The bike just flies along the road. I have also tried it out uphill over soft grassy ground, with equally impressive results.
The ease with which I can get up to speed, and stay there.
I still have not worked out the hand throttle. It starts the bike going from a standing start, but will not keep it going, cutting out after 10 seconds or so. What might I be doing wrong?

Great for my daily commute
I have been commuting to and from work on my Tourney for a little over 6 weeks now and find it fantastic as my commute involves one substantial hill and a few smallish hills. Apart from when I am riding up the hills I usually ride the bike using low or med power and then switch to high when I encounter the steeper hills; that allows me to keep exercising daily, but also stops me killing myself on the hills.

able to raise the handlebars somehow. The handlebars do raise on the Tourney, but they raise on a diagonal angle, which was not high enough for me. I emailed [name removed] at Aseako and he suggested I try the “Satori Heads up 4” stem riser as other customers had recommended this to him. I actually ended up buying the “Satori Easy Up adjustable” riser for $45 instead as it raises the bars much higher than I need but I felt it was good to have the option to raise the handlebars higher or lower at will; I recommend the “Satori Easy Up” stem riser to any buyer who wants this upright position, its made such a difference and well worth the $45. Overall the bike has been a good investment and customer service has been responsive pre and post sale. Good on the hills, attractive looking electric bike Being 6'1' I needed the handlebars higher to enable a comfortable riding position - adding the Satori riser was gold!2 comments
Hi, can you please tell me if the Satori easy up stem riser was easy to fit, or did you have to get a bike shop to fit it? Cheers Brian
It was pretty easy to fit, about 10 mins. But if you are unsure, just buy the riser from a bike shop and they would more than likely fit it for you?

Responsible service even after 2+ years
I had a problem with noise in the gearbox of my bike within a few months after I bought it in Oct 2011.
While there were initial problems with communication, the problem was addressed and solved under warranty.
Recently the bike had a recurrence of the problem with the gearbox, and while it was initially difficult to get in touch with him, as soon [name removed] learned about my problem, he offered to help me get it back on the road asap.
It is good to know someone cares for their product reliably beyond warranty terms.

I own an Aseako Moto which I use to ride to work and the local shopping centre. The area I live is quite hilly in places and the Aeako handles them with ease. Another good thing is that it has both peddle assist and a separate throttle that you can twist to propel the bike. This is great for hill starts. The bike is very sturdy and well made. It is a bit heavier than my previous one, but that’s because it has front & rear suspension, a battery & a motor but after the initial ride you get used to it so you don’t notice it and I can peddle up steep hills. Well worth the investment!
Represents value, separate throttle
Initially feels heavy.

overall pretty good
I bought this Aseako Tourney model 4 weeks ago sight unseen after trying out some hub electric bikes. It does all that I wanted including going up a steep hill near home without me leaving the seat. I use it to commute to work ( 7 Kms each way) and I can easily get 2 days out of the battery before a recharge. It is a heavy bike ( as per web site) and takes a bit of getting used to. Whilst the bike itself seems well made some other parts are not so good. I have had to upgrade the tyres ( additional $43.00 each) because I had 3 puncture...Read more
s in 2 weeks with the tyres supplied with the bike. The clamp that holds the seat at the correct height is not up to the job and the seat continually sinks lower into the frame. I have had to drill a hole in the frame and the seat stem to insert a pin to stop it sliding down. The front mudguard fell off yesterday due to fatigue in the bracket attaching it to the front forks. The front and rear lights as supplied are LED type but are not bright and do not flash on and off as most LED bike lights do. Will power up a steepish hill fairly easily. See comments above1 comment

Takes Hills with your bum still on the seat.
I am in my late 60;s & live in a hilly suburb & the last hill to my home is a real drag as I need to use the lowest gear with my old bike. I bought the Moto model after researching electric bikes for months & decided on a centre drive model & the Aseako Moto came in on top for price.spare parts & with an Australian base. The last hill in question is now easily conquered in the 3rd or 4th high gears(total 8) & a lot faster than before. With the operation of the pedal crank needing one turn to bring in the motor is one of the good things to prevent you from wasting power using it as a "motor bike & not needing to pay registration costs". It is everything that is advertised.
A great buy.

Does what its designed to do
Received my bike on Tuesday and did a 60km round trip to work the very next day.
If you're used to travel on a road or racing bike as I am you'll be dissapointed with the speed. Unfortunately there no one to blame for this as the bike does exactly what is advertised. If you need speed I would recommend a 500W unit.
Good handling over bumps, good energy savings if you don't mind travelling slower than the racing bikes around you.
Very hard work trying to keep up with the racing bikes

y ride the bike at 30-32kph. If you would like to go faster than this on the flat, then a bigger front chain ring would be the first step - the bike comes standard with a 42T chainring, Increasing this to 48T - 52T would increase your overall top speed, but naturally would reduce some of your hill climbing ability - it depends on the type of terrain that you usually ride on.Similar opinion? Great Bike
I have just had my first ride on my new ALTO bicycle and already know this has been a good investment.I found it easy to ride once the motor "kicked in",but very heavy and awkward to actually get started - on my second ride I found a little throttle solves most of this issue. There have also been another couple of things I need to learn better control over, but I stress these issues are not due to a fault in the bike, simply things a new rider needs to understand and get used to.
Solid and well made.
A little heavy - but manageable.

Good buy!
My last bike was a folding electric bike with small wheels and no gears. So heavy and so hard to ride without power because of hub drive and no gearing. Our 2 new Aseako bikes have arrived and been riden on flat paths and up steep hill. Marvelous! We went to Maroochydore to test ride them first and to check out the agent. So impressed we went home and ordered 2, the Alto and Sports.
Well geared for hills. Can easily ride for exercise without power.

Very Positive Experience
I had an electric bike before this, so I knew what I was looking for. Mainly lighter weight, and not-hub drive. And nice looks, with value for money. So I looked around, and found the Aseako bikes.
I was impressed with the pedelec system working through the chain to give more torque, as opposed to the weight distribution anomoly of a hub motor on the wheel. So I ordered one, from the Aseako website (though they were the same price on Ebay).
My order was placed by email on a Saturday evening, and the bike arrived on Monday afternoon! ...Read more
I can't get letters delivered that quickly! Assembly was easy (put the front wheel on a spindle, insert the spindle into the front fork, and put the handlebars in place with the provided allen key - easier than an Ikea project!). After charging the battery, I rode it to work the next day. Perfect. Fun, handles like an ordinary, albeit a bit heavier than ordinary, but not a problem, bike. I bought the disk brake option as an extra. The bike is heavy, and needs a bit of stopping on a hill. I regard that as $129 well spent. I live at the top of a steep hill 1kilometer long. Pedalling up that hill on my non-electric bike is not on. I walk. Pedalling the Aseako is easy. It climbs that hill at about 15 to 20 kph, without raising a sweat, but still pedalling, that is, not using the throttle and letting the bike do it all (though you could).3 comments

essful in every market they go in to: musical instruments, tools, machinery, clothing; you name it. The centrally and low-mounted electric motor is designed to directly drive the crankshaft at 1500 rpm. Lithium-ion battery by Samsung, gears by Shimano (8 sprockets, rear only, no front derailleur). Frame build quality excellent, though obviously far too heavy for a normal road or mountain bike. The greatest bike on the Planet
Ever since a friend told me about an electric conversion kit he had fitted to his standard bike, and how he rides to work from the Mt Gravatt to Brisbane City through wind and up hills with ease, I wanted an “electric bike”.
The route I take is not to work, but just for exercise and fresh air along a Broadwater and 99% of the time it is a full on head wind in one direction of 10klms. I gave up in the end as a bike ride became too hard and no longer enjoyable.
After trawling the internet and reading up about e-bikes, the decision was mad...Read more
e that the Aseako E-Bike was the best value, had the best equipment and was the best looking bike on the planet. (Image is very important!!). Buying a conversion kit for my standard Mountain Bike was not worth the cost or bother. So along comes one absolutely stunning Aseako Moto within 48 hours and WOW, what can I say, but more WOW’s. The sensation of the Pedelec System and Central Drive is unreal. I cannot compare this to a Hub System as I have never tried one, but all I can say the Aseako is absolutely brilliant and I wouldn't want anything else. A couple of seconds and I felt this unique umph. Like WOW!.....It is indescribable and after a test wizz around the local park, it was down to the Broad-water. The wind that day was virtually gale force. One could barely walk let-alone try and ride a pushy, yet here I was having a ball and peddling through the wind. I came back feeling energised and fantastic. I had a work out, but I didn’t have to kill my-self in the process. I also went up a rather enormous hill only Tour de France riders could tackle, and the Aseako got me up there without a problem. WOW again!.1 comment

The best purchase I have ever made
This is my first eletric bike, so do not have the experience of trying another. This is such a great looking bike and I receive comments all the time about how it does not look like an eletric bike. It has made the ride from my property (dirt road uphill) to the bitumin so easy, I would not go back to an unpowered bike again. I had the disc brakes fitted which I do recommend, as it is a heavy bike. I have found the battery life to be good, though I only use the electric assist for the first part of my ride.
Reliable, great communication from the company

What is the weight of a Tourney?

It's a standard 12v battery charger that takes around 2 hours to fully charge the 10 amp battery.
The Tourney weighs in at a hefty 28 kg with the battery.
