Discontinued and can't buy parts.
Robot starts up for 10seconds then stops. Needs a new motor, however can't buy spare parts. New motor from 3rd party is$1800.
Never buy an Astral product again.
Stops after 10 seconds
Don’t know why but unit stops automatically after 10 seconds . Pumps water up but then just stops dead . Certainly an expensive piece of equipment tgat has such a short life span .

Don’t buy any astral or zodiac equipment
Although I enjoyed having a robotic cleaner for 31 months. And only having to replace the foam wheels yearly otherwise it will not move. I am frustrated by the short life spam of their products. For a company that thinks they are the best in the industry. Their quality is appalling.

very disappointed
After only 28 months ( just outside the 2 year warranty ) this machine has multiple failures .had been working ok, however its an extremely heavy unit .Had a repair man look at it as suggested by astral, however with the amount of things wrong with it ( over $900) and a new unit costing approx $1000.Its not viable to repair.Won't buy another robot pool cleaner, huge outlay to purchase compared with suction cleaners, and they have such a short life span.

Good Machine but Very Poor Service
The machine stopped dead after 25 months. Astral just fobbed me off and wouldn't do anything to help to get it fixed. The product works very well but Astral are extremely poor on Customer support.

Disappointing broken down no after sales service
Broke down after 18 months. Astral are terrible to deal with. I have been waiting 10 weeks for the unit to be repaired. I have heard nothing. Spent 45 minutes waiting to speak to Astral and the call centre folks just arent interested in you. Classic case of a company prepared to take your money but are nowhere to be seen when there are issues.

Breaks all the time
the machine went well for the first year. Broken again for the fourth time. When asking for replacement they just don't return your email. They say they are going to call you back but never do. Planing on having to go to the Australian competition and consumer commission. We will never buy this band again.

Couldn't live without it!
This is the best pool piece of equiptment I have ever purchased. Used to have a dolphin S200 that came with the pool. Lets just say that that is the worst cleaner on the market. However, this RPT is the BEST! From day one I was sceptical of buying another robot, however my local pool shop ensured me that they had a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Giving them the benefit of the doubt was the best possible thing I could of done. Its super light weight, and has filters which cleaned things I couldn't even see!... don't know how that is possible. ... Read moree cleaner also didn't miss a single part of my Fiberglass pool, a problem with the dolphin as it missed corners and the step (not a problem with my astral. I just love the whole experience I'm having with it and I would have no problem recommending it to any pool owner in my opinion! PS you can purchase a trolly for it to sit on extra (got mine for $100 with the cleaner), highly recommend for storage as it has a place to put every part and looks really premium? Just my opinion
Easy to use and cleans pool
I bought this for a new concrete pool. I set it on the heavy setting to begin with and it picked up all leaves and dead bugs but not sand and finer particles. I then lowered the suction inlets and it picked up everything - leaving nothing behind. The filter compartments are easy to remove and clean. They are relatively small so sometimes I have to clean them and then run another cycle to get the pool spotless.
I did not go for the remote control and caddy and do not ever think I wish I had them.
In a nutshell at the moment I am extremely happy with this product and having come from the old school where you used to vacuum a pool I find myself just standing and watching it go with a big smile.

Questions & Answers
My RPT can’t get over a small rise/sloping step to a lower level of our pool. It’s about a 25cm rise sloping upwards. Does anyone know how to improve the unit’s ability to climb?
Hey, on the bottom of the robot is there somewhere with a Phillips head screw bit? If so u can unscrew it and it will release the filter out a bit helping it get over. If not you can buy as an option I'm pretty sure?
Mine broke too and worryingly it looks like its been grating plastic into the pool (and hence the family).. anyone else have problems with their astral rpt? Time for some answers astral!!

Thanks for your comments. The warranty we have for our rollers is for 1 year only and this is due to them degrading over time and not having sufficient traction for it to properly clean your pool.
