Flawed product and terrible service - DO NOT BUY

published

This product is not fit for purpose in Australia. When it stops working and you have to contact the company (Fluidra) for assistance you will be even more disappointed. Unhelpful, belligerent and rude. See review for AstralPool Australia here: /listings/astralpool

Purchased in November 2022 for $1,500.

No Support

Change the filtration system to the Viron Salt Chlorinator V45 (45g/hr) This is what the pool company suggested This unit has always struggled to produce enough salt water (always under the required chlorine) I have the time set at its highest number of hours and the chlorine set at the highest (8). Tried to call Astral Pool. All contact numbers in Australia have been disconnected. Was on their chat line and they sent me to a distributor that don't even sell and support the Viron products ... Stay Away

False advertising

published

Brochure website and even the box state “view your water balance “ but the reality is that even if you spend an additional $1200 on sensors, the unit is still not capable of this claim.
Austral will not respond to requests for customer assistance via email and don’t answer the phone.

Purchased in November 2020 at Clark Rubber.

Works ok in the first year, bluetooth is the worst feature you could add

published

1 year in & works OK.
Bluetooth - the most insane idea to add bluetooth.
With bluetooth you can use your phone to control your chlorinator... so long as you're standing next to it. why bother?!?!
Add WiFi so i can control it from my house & dont have to stand next to it. Who made this design decision?!?

Purchased in September 2022.

Poor considering purchase price

published

Our salt cell has just failed, less than 4 years old.
The PCB's on the control unit were begrudgingly replaced, after much to and fro with Astral.
All our pool equipment is from Astral, I would reconsider using there products in the future.

Purchased in September 2016 at Pool builder.

Nothing but problems and Warranty worthless

published

Bought it and had nothing but grief. It doesn't work right, never has, and the one time they did send a warranty guy out he showed with no tools, no parts, no thing. Only did a visual inspection, said it was working fine. Still dramas, have spent 10 days chasing warranty and they have yet to make contact with me. I'm ready for a refund and a different brand of chlorinator.

Purchased at Poolwerx.

Failed within 2 years

published

Our unit failed within 2 years. It was inspected by an authorised agent but they refused to repair under warranty as they deemed our residential apartment building is "commercial" even though the pool is barely used on a weekly basis and never used during winter. Terrible product and they will try their best to avoid any liability for their poor quality products. Avoid.

The right to repair: which brands are making it easier for you to fix their products?

The right to repair movement in Australia is calling for companies to make it easier for their products to be repaired. Here are some electronics and appliance manufacturers who are starting to listen and make it more feasible for consumers to repair, rather than replace, their items.

Do not waste your money on this piece of garbage

published

The limited warranty is not worth the piece of paper that was used to write it on. I cannot understand that a product of that value which is used for 4 months a year was barely able to last two years before the main board died requiring it to be repaired under warranty for 1/3 of the purchase value. I never did go through getting repaired and I urge anyone not to consider purchasing this or any austral-pool product as I am not the only person to experience this. I should have placed this review in 2016 when I went through the warranty process and the exceptionally poor customer service at that point.

Have you checked the fuse on the PCB? I have the same problem - unfortunately after replacing the fuse ($1.45 from Jaycar) I've still got no power. You may be more fortunate.
