Smooth, comfortable and reliable
German cars are 'my thing': being a long-term BMW driver, I decided to give Audi a try.....What a difference ! Great breaks, the engine is silent and the fuel efficiency cannot be ignored. I like the seats and the ergonomics: the buttons on the side of the seat make everything so user-friendly. other functionalities on the steering wheel allow the driver to safely manoeuver the car and use the multimedia system simultaneously. Love my car !

Quattro super elegant and a great drive
Audi A4 SLine Quattro superb car to drive with so many features, 2.0L the torque is unreal the leather interior is great even in summer does not scold you. 1 x cup holder is a negative as you usually want 2 minimum. The riot tonic gearbox is great for city driving or cruise control for the highway. I can not recommend this model and car type enough. Beautiful German crafted machinery and handles the Australia weather quite well no issues as long as serviced at the right intervals as per dashboard computer it will advise when issues or service is due.

Great experience
Have had the A4 2.7TDI since new and it has been a really good car. The 2.7 diesel is a terrific engine and did not get caught in the cheat software scandal. Plenty of power in reserve that comes in handy on the open road. I think the current 3.0litre is essentially the same with extra volume and power. Very comfortable for long trips. Overall it has been very reliable, with just a couple of hiccups (1) with the catalytic converter (which failed about a month after the warranty expired, but I managed to negotiate successfully with Audi Aus...Read more
tralia to replace it), and (2) very annoying and expensive failure of the GPS (including $250 to paint the shark fin the car colour!). Other than that, each annual service tends to cost a bit for fixing normal wear and tear (engine mounts, glow plugs, steering arm bushes etc). There was a noticeable increased responsiveness, and reduction in fuel consumption around 50,000k. I hear this is a common experience with diesels. Had done 115,000km until we bought a VW Touareg SUV recently. It still looks and drives like a $70k car, but was almost worthless as a trade-in, so now our son is enjoying it.Similar opinion? Very smooth ride
Since i have bought this car, i am very happy with it. It' s a very smooth drive and has low noise engine.
The breaks are very good and so is the transmission. It is fuel efficient and also features a V6 engine.
It uses fuel properly even when you use sports mode. You can drive in sports mode all day with a full tank without loosing half a tank of fuel within 2 hours of driving. Compared to 4WD this car is 2WD/FWD and has very nice steering/handling.

erything so easy to use. Buttons on the steering wheel allow the driving to safely maneuver the car and use the multimedia system. It's also has a convertible feature so during summer you can enjoy riding this fantastic ride.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Nice to drive, terrible car
Had nothing but problems. Central locking failed, transmission mechatronics failed, and finally the engine failed at 105k km's.. Audi servicing I experienced was expensive, arrogant and ignorant. I loved driving this car and it looks great but that's as much as I can say that's positive. If you buy an Audi, get rid of it before the warranty is up is my advice..

All New Stylish Audi A4
1) The driving experience is amazing specially the control.
2) Loved the interior especially the fact that you get Google Maps with Street View embedded into the satellite navigation system is a welcome touch, as is the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity. Meanwhile, the ambient lighting in the doors, across the fascia and even in the cup-holders makes the cabin a proper event come nightfall.
3) Reliable vehicle but running cost is what you can expect from Audi.

Amazing car love it.
So different to drive than a commodore. All parts of this car make it beautiful. The leather, the performance, the handling. Very nice to drive and low fuel consumption but not as low as advertised. Will always stick to European cars from now on. Wish it had fold in mirrors to protect when parked.

Really great car, but watch out for the TCU fault!!!
Audi A4, drives beautifully, looks great, so comfortable and absolutely confidence inspiring on country roads where you cant see round the bends. What a well planted car. I had mine for 2 years it was a 2004, all black and I really loved it. I read many review and the transmission control unit (TCU) fault was an issue that Audi should have acknowledged and recalled. Mine failed and Audi quoted $4,500...So they are making money off their stuff up. I did more research and ended up posting the unit that my local mechanic removed, to the UK wh...Read more
ere they reconditioned it, posted it back and my mechanic fitted up. This cost $1800 total, still allot of money, but I was happy to not reward Audi. I'm not put off and would go audi again, I'd avoid the dealerships however.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Oil consumption and mismatched gearbox
Like many others, my car suffered from heavy oil consumption. I disliked the geabox, the CVT never matched the turbo engine from takeoff. Rolled badly in uphill starts. Had smooth ride and great fuel consumption (if you can believe the VW/Audi gauge). I switched to Mercedes which has vastly better quality. I won't buy another Audi, despite owning four of them in the past.

Its an ok car!
It's comfortable, driving is nice but not comparable to a BMW 3 Series so if you're coming from a BMW, might be worth going back to BMW. At 1.5 year old the car has already let me down when it started leaking oil and coolant left me on the side of the road on the way to work and had to get towed. There has been no major problems since but i don't have the confidence now to take the car away on super long trips. Who knows may be it was a one time thing, there are plenty of happy owners out there. Time will tell if I'll ever buy another Audi but for now I've gotta say its a NO.

Bland & uninspiring at best
Hired one for 10 days during holiday time.
No hassles, transported us around ok.
Power was disappointing. Being a turbo, you'd expect a bit of punch, however the power delivery was soft & felt like there was no turbo under the bonnet. By comparison, a BMW turbo lurches off & charges ahead like a bull with a sting in it's backside.
Instrument cluster is busy, distracting & some gauges/instruments were totally unnecessary. Important are speed, revs, fuel, temp. Important also is the layout so they can be quickly scanned & then eyes re...Read more
turned to the road. Can you do that in the Audi... Um... NO. There is no "white space" balance in the layout of the dashboard. Distracting. Sorry to say... check out other cars, such as BMW, where the driver can in a short scan identify which gauge to focus on & get the value of that parameter. Audi seem to be trying too hard... cramming in more "stuff"... For example there are lights above the door handle, lights in the door trim, lights around the centre console drink holder (I'm not kidding). Looks like they thought... where else can we add more lights to make this a better car. The lights are distracting in country driving when you want the cockpit dark & they are also somewhat distracting in city driving (yes you can navigate the instrument menu & get to the function to turn them off).Similar opinion? Audi A4 2009 Excessive Oil usage and gearbox unreliable
I have had all the problems that are talked about in these posts. The excessive oil fault cost me $6000 to fix as I had missed a service and Audi say that mixed service may have caused damage, although there were 1,000s of the same model recalled in the US for this problem. I had complained about excessive oil consumption for years and I had been told that it was "normal" for Audi to use a lot of oil as Audi's have a lot of moving parts. I am not sure what kind of car doesn't lots of moving parts. Finally they agreed to to the oil test and ...Read more
said it was normal. 3 weeks later the oil light was on again, and I insisted they do the oil test again which it failed. I have been lied to so many times by Audi, they I would trust anything they say. I have also complained about the jerking into 1st gear and erratic behaviour of the gearbox. Sometimes it wants to go, sometimes it doesn't. It is like playing Russian roulette when pulling into traffic. Again, I was told by an Audi technician it was normal for Audi and that "these cars are not meant to take off quickly". It is due for another service and again I will ask if they can do anything, but I am sure nothing will be done. If anyone asks me about my car, I ward them off buying an Audi, as they build crappy cars, but claim to build luxury cars. They definitely don't stand behind their name "Audi" - they lie and cover up their design faults to save the company money.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very Good, but not perfect
Purchased my A4 as a 2 month old dealer demo with 2000km on the clock. The car has many great features such as the engine/gearbox combination which gives excellent performance and outstanding economy. I live in the country and have averaged 6.4l/100km over 9000 km's!!!
Generally the car is of excellent quality, though mine has a rattle in the headlining which I will get fixed at the 15000km service. Many nice features including 3 zone aircon, virtual cockpit display, lane assist, etc all result in a very comfortable, relaxing and safe cruise...Read more
r. The s-tronic auto is a little hesitant at slow speeds, but once underway it performs beautifully, with super fast manual paddle shift gear changes being possible as well as normal auto mode. The multimedia system is easy to use, easily paring mobile phones etc. The storage jukebox is great and easy to load with your favorite music. The sat-nav also works very well and is easy to use. A couple of simple design floors let the car down and thus my good rating only: A drivers foot rest that is set too far back, a crazy storage bin lid between the front seats that does not hide everything in the storage area, and also its lid that unless you lift it completely up, refuses to close!!! Also there are some bad dashboard reflections at particular times of the day. Otherwise, my Audi experience has been an enjoyable one!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Same issues but Audi Aus now coming to the party
I owned a b7 1.8 normally aspirated before this. It was a beautiful car to drive. Great dynamics and road feel. Engine was nice but weak as anything and the constantly sluggish transmission made it much worse. Always said to myself if I bought another it would be a turbo and preferably a manual. Another constantly sluggish (sorry variable) turned up at the right price and I read about the oil issue and asked the owner who said they had not experienced the issue. bought the car and then oddly it started using a litre of oil per about 400km.

Audi A4 2016 Quattro
I bought an A4 three years ago (see my other review), upgrade to this one for more gadgets which I missed out this time. It is fully options with virtual cockpit and adaptive cruise control, the two main reason for the upgrade. Of course I enjoyed those pretty much, BUT what's more? A power engine so quick, responsive and SMOOTH. The cabin is QUIET. Driving this A4 from speedy highway to stuffed traffic it is an enjoyable experience. I cannot believe this car is such a huge improvement from the last version. Indeed it does not feel like a car, more like a spaceship!

Shaky start to love affair
Bought my A4 Avant 2.0L new in 2010 based on quality, practicality, performance and looks.
Within a few months, the excessive oil consumption issue arose. Audi explained likely problem and ran their required processes, resulting in new engine from Germany; no cost to me; other than time and anxiety.
That was 6 years ago and has run like a dream since. Love it.

Above average engineering & quality
I bought a A4 B5 1.8T auto wagon for my wife 2nd hand & in the 10 years ownership(70,000k) parts wear out it's a fact, having owned Aus,Jap & now German built cars all have issues, but it's well made & has been reliable & never "broken down". It is serviced & smaller repair's done by me as required so the cost is minimal, but get a mechanic involved with any vehicle that = $$$$.Plastics & leather are good quality, has comfortable seating & cruises v/well on the open road. If you have limited mechanical experience my advice is get an inspection d...Read more
one it's worth the money as a good service history or low k's are only part & not the whole story, some owners have no "mechanical empathy" the vehicle could have been thrashed from cold day 1 .As some unwary buyers have obviously found out "Caveat emptor" with any second hand purchase.Similar opinion? Delay in gearbox transmission causing jumping, wheel spin when does engage
Audi avant 1.8 fsi- from new, always had delay. Took into garage after a year and explained problem and Audi said they couldn't find it and never heard of it. Took it back in three times before warranty ran out, and made sure they logged complaint on records. One time they re set gearbox and that improved problem dramatically, but after 10 weeks was back to usual problem. Took it back again, said they reset gearbox, kept car for 2 days to test drive, again said nothing wrong. This time no improvement with reset. Car also guzzles oil, in between...Read more
services I have to top it up, which I have never had in my life and owned over 12 different cars. The problem is very dangerous, particularly when pulling out at roundabouts and junctions. You have no idea when the car will move so it's always a gamble. Have also noticed car rolling back when on hill - very scary as nothing you can do until car decides to engage. Have asked garage if known problem, both Benfield Audi in Newcastle and the new garage that bought them Lookers - both claim to have never heard of the problem. Big cover up going on here no idea what to do.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Poorly designed engined. Audi Australia won't take responsibility
Exterior: nice, elegant design
Interior: best in class.
Transmission: the CVT transmission is an acquired taste. After a few months I came to like it, but I understand that "car enthusiasts" dislike it with a passion.
Engine: herein lies the problem. 1.8T and 2.0 petrol Audi engines built between 2009 and 2011 have a known design issue which leads to excessive oil consumption. This has lead to a class action in the US, which Audi settled. Audi has agreed to repair the engines, refund oil expenses, and double the warranty period from 4 ...Read more
to 8 years. Unfortunately Audi Australia does not recognize the fault. Really regret having purchased this car. If you are considering an Audi (in Australia), don't google "oil consumption Audi" and read many stories of costumers being pushed around without having the problem fixed; it will ruin your day.Similar opinion?
