They send it to your parcel locker and don't even send a code to collect it

published

Received an email saying to collect my parcel from the St Kilda Delivery Centre lockers on the 23rd of April. In short couldn't open the locker because the bar code wouldn't scan. I phone the help line they told me I needed a PIN for it but I was never texted one so they couldn't help me. What a waste of time. I have had multiple issues with this pathetic company in collecting items I wish it would go broke so we can get a decent service because they are the biggest pile of rubbish ever. According to tracking it arrived there on the 14th April and I only received an email to pick it up on the 23rd. Ridiculous.

Parcel delivery is slow, why do we pay so much for such a poor service?

published

eg 1/ Parcel left China on 26th of April 2020, arrived in Australia April 30, cleared customs on 8th May. I lodged an enquiry as to where my missing parcel was, no reply or response. Delivered by Aus Post to inner Melbourne May 20.
eg 2/ I currently have parcels sitting at a Aus post depot about 15 Km away. My parcel is due for delivery in 4 days time!!

Honestly just bad

published

I have been waiting 3 days for my package, it keeps saying it can't be safe dropped at my door so they are going to take it to a post office!! Why?? I am home all the time due to quarantine so I can collect it. After this I finally got them to deliver it to my house. I received an email this morning saying it would be delivered, however its now 5 pm and no package in sight. Not to mention it's already late and meant to be express shipping. Honestly just slow and the tracking system doesn't update.

TERRIBLE

published

if you can use another courier then I suggest doing so unless you want your parcels misplaced, dropped at your address in an in-safe place and then stolen! All Aus post can say is “driver dropped at your front door seek advice from sender” when you have specifically asked them not to drop at your front door and to take parcels to post office. It’s never there fault! It’s always someone else’s when there the ones misplacing items by dropping them in obvious places when no one is home.

Incompetence personified

published

I have a very low expectation when it comes to Australia Post parcel delivery. It borders on incompetence when every delivery is delayed or late.
In future I will resort to paying for a courier to deliver my goods.

Cant decide amongst themselves who should serve and what questions they should ask

published

I was there to pickup my parcel and was asked to present an ID after which the team member couldn't find it in their office. Asked me to make sure that it was ready for collection and I replied with an email copy of Au post email stating ready collection. At this point he referred my case to another team member who started yelling at me for having different address on the parcel. I am sorry different address, well duh I came in for a pick up so the address on the parcel is the address of the post office and the address on my ID is my residential address. Why wouldn't that be different and why do I have to be yelled at for not having same address when I chose the collection service?

Damaged Box

published

I have ordered a mouse that is brand new from Jbhifi. I is quite an expensive mouse that is about 150 Au. When I ordered it, I though that it would come in a box not damaged. Apparently shipping companies just do that and my box looked like it got beaten up. Postal also delivered it late.

None of my packages have come on the day they have said they were going to. My daughter's package went missing but thankfully they refunded me for that. My express post didn't even come when it was meant to. If you are busy because of covid 19, which you know you are going to be because every one is being told to shop online, PUT MORE STAFF ON. Not hard

Don't buy online

published

Its obvious Australia Post can't cope because of covid19 in Australia which doesn't compare to the severity in other nations. The simple answer is "don't buy online". It would help if Australia Post started advertising telling people to stop buying online because they can't cope.

Excellent Service Under Extraordinarily Difficult Circumstances

published

Yes a number of items I have ordered online have been delivered to me a lot later than usual and Australia Post was the organisation that delivered these items. An absolute moron could figure out that due to the extraordinary circumstances from the Covid-19 pandemic and the sudden restrictions that have been imposed, that this would have resulted in inevitable delays that no one could plan for. I would be so extremely embarrassed and ashamed of myself if I put up a negative review of an Australian company in these unprecedented times. Only uneducated people would do this. Thank you Australia Post for doing the best you can during these difficult circumstances!

OK so COVID-19 has resulted in delays. I'm sure we all understand this.
What we don't understand is why COVID-19 has resulted in Australia Post no longer scanning parcels.
What we don't understand is why Australia Post is working with a "skeleton staff" at a time when business is absolutely booming.
What we don't understand is why Australia Post is still accepting parcels for Express Post and charging the going rate when Express delivery is not being achieved.

Well stated, I agree! I find the information on website ambiguous and dishonest. And the tracking system is arbitrary and non-transparent. There were deep systemic network issues prior to Covid 19, online parcel delivery has been AP's main business for years now, there have been years of Xmas and sales periods from which lessons could have been learned, the capital cities of Perth and Darwin (apart from their CBDS) are *still* officially outside the Express network and considered regional areas. Inefficiency appears deeply embedded. I have no doubt all/majority of the on-the ground staff are working extremely hardannd around the clock atm and it must be awafully stressful, but when there are sytemic falws, hard work just does not solve endemic, structual problems. There have been issues at times with some automated sorting machines.
A decent system that is already largely efficient is obviously going to cope better when there are exceptional circumstances such as those we are currently facing.

Talking to the bloke at our LPO he says loss rates on parcels has increased by over 100%. He says there is no logic to the COVID-19 excuses given they've stopped tracking parcels to save time. He thinks AP employees are taking advantage of the mess their management have made of this and are pilfering more than normal.

Hey anyone who can help!
I’ve currently been stressing day and night due to a parcel I should’ve received latest on the 15th of April but is now 3 days overdue with the last scan being “emanifested for departure” which was scanned on the 5th of April.
My parcel is coming from prettylittlething UK
To Melbourne Victoria.
Having no updates or scans after the 5th is starting to worry me as I don’t know where the parcel is located or in this case lost.
I want to believe it’s either missed a scan or is just a massive delay from the covid backlog.
I have an investigation running with auspost but I haven’t been updated with my case in days and all I want is to know in the end I will receive my parcel :(

Hi Milan. I have the same problem. I managed to get through to an Australia post representative yesterday who told me that they are working with skeleton staff and are not able to employ more people due to the government restrictions so they have a huge backlog. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do except be patient. If you want to speak to someone from Australia post go to their chatbox during office hours. I hope this helps.

Hey hun Thankyou for your response, has you order also been last scanned at emanifested almost two weeks now :/

I wouldn't be too concerned judging by the amount of negative review bombs they're just backlogged. I'm waiting on a $3500 PC that was supposed to be delivered on the 5th and there's still no tracking updates from when it was shipped on the 25th of March.

Hi Zara. I have the same problem. I have just finally managed to get through to an Australia post rep. Apparently there is a huge backlog of packages with only skeleton staff to process. I asked if they will be employing more people to help clear the backlog, apparently they can't due to government restrictions. I know it's frustrating especially when you can't get answers that's why I'm responding to your query. I guess we just have to wait patiently, there's nothing we can do except try to get through to a representative on their chatbox.

Oh that's lovely of you to share this. I have been messaging the sender and they don't know what's happening either. I just thought its very abnormal for the status to remain the same for two weeks now. Let's wait and see if anyone gets back to us here about it. Thanks again :)
