Abysmal service and expensive

Express post. Paid for next day shipping. 5 days later I'm still waiting. This is from Sydney to Melbourne so not regional. No online updates as well and it's an absolutely frustrating experience waiting for your package but Aus post can't be bothered to update you on its whereabouts.

Again Australia Post is late, order express from Melbourne to Perth last week with the due date on Tuesday, it says it's arrived in Perth but is delayed. Tried to ask if I could go and collect it, apparently that's not possible. So then I asked why is it sitting in a warehouse 20mins from me to no certain answer. They are now hiding behind the coronavirus as an excuse but I have recently got a package from Japan delivered in less than 5 days.
Don't want the parcel to get stolen so I have now been sitting at home for 3 days now waiting....
If you or a friend has a similar experience tell them to complain as that's basically the only way this will change.

I've been waiting for my express post. Today being Wednesday and my express post still shows “Shipping information approved by Australia Post” since Monday. What's the point of paying extra for EXPRESS?????

Over the post office counter lodged express post parcel PENDING

published

Purchased express post satchel and lodged at the counter of the Post Office 16/4/2020. Tracking states: Pending, no tracking at all on it. Lodged missing parcel enquiry 18/4 and again enquired 21/4...no reply at all from AP. I’m truly hoping they haven’t lost it - extremely sentimental contents. A reply is not really much to expect when engaging such a service,

I have found my local post person in my district 4563 post code had a letter that needed my signature, they didn't knock on the door, I was home all morning no TV on, no back ground noise I was sitting quietly reading, the person just put a note in my flyscreen & ran, made me go & line up at the post office during the COVID 19 restriction period, would of been able to do the process at my front door safely within the guidelines with clear communication...Poor effort, this was on the 24/3/2020..

Ridiculous rubbish service

Purchased on kogan on the 5th.
Kogan says it dispatched the item purchased on the 7th of April.
Its now the 18th and just doesn’t exist in Australia posts system?

Why even bother having an express post option?
Public Domestic flights might be canceled but Freight flights are not, the roads are not shut to trucks and rail is still operational.
All these methods and they still can’t manage to get a package across the country in two weeks?

Absolutely atrocious.
The fact they don’t even reply to enquires about freight shows they know they are in the wrong and provide a substandard service at an inflated price.

Nothing express about it

Have sent a few dozen express post satchels over the last 6 months or so. 50% are at least 2 days late, 20% get lost in transit, and the rest actually make it as they should. Premium service, but woeful execution. I have 4 cheque’s to cash For postage refund that have (finally) arrived in the lat week. At least they don’t argue the refunds too hard I guess.

Some of the stuff I send are documents and medical scans which are literally life and death. I don’t have any other option.

I’m an hour north of Sydney, yet it’s common for an express package to take 3 days. Seriously? What a joke!

Excuses after excuses

I bought an extremely expensive thing by express post and it didnt come at all! Apparently they dont know where it is it was scanned at a post office afew suburbs away from me and then mysteriously disappeared!! (Didnt know auspost were thieves too)! Then this week bought another package just a simple delivery from syd to melb have bought from them before and its usually 2 business days. Delivery was expected last week! Another package in limbo!! I dont understand? Do they throw my packages off the side of the truck when they see my name?? Why is it so hard? And they keep blaming covid which isnt an excuse because my friend has ordered 5 things the past week within australia and everything came within the week without express post!

Placed an order with a clothes company on April 2nd and paid the express shipping fees for them to dispatch from the warehouse the following day and send express from Melbourne to Perth. Well, today is April 16th. Still not here. The website shows green "on time" Hahaha! You guys are so amusing- really glad I paid for express dispatch and shipping....

Pathetic

published

Paid $17 to send a package 40km by Express Post 15 days ago, according to tracking it is still sitting in the Post Office with "Delayed". Australia Post took my money to send it express knowing that were unable to deliver in 3 days. Knowingly charging for a service they can't deliver would almost amount to fraud in my opinion.

Hey Moi, having just finished going through this myself, this is what I know: You go to the AP website, then you need to dig around there until you find the delays info. You need to click on a few links, The last time I looked it was in the FAQ, via Covd 19 Domestic post updates. There is an update there from 14 April which says delivery to country and regional areas "may be delayed by up to X days...". Under this, both Darwin and metro Perth are listed, as both cities (except for CBD postcodes I think) are considered as regional and outside the express network for next day guarantee. Also at some point recently, the gaurantee was suspended, although the info is that Express is still the fastest way to send and natuirally still costs the same. I seem to remember that for Darwin it may have read " up to three days...". So whatever the expected time is for Victoria to Darwin via Express, you add 3 days to that. You have to dig even deeper to discover what the expected time fro Express delivery is to Darwin, but as I did find the table giving estimates recently I remember that Darwin from non regional Vic was 1-3 or maybe 1-4 business days. So if AP had your mail on 16/04,it would be expected on say 21 April (4 business days) at the latest in Darwin, then add 3 days for C19 delay and that takes you to 24th April ie tomorrow. That's just according to the unsimple, ambiguous and difficult to access info on the website. There is a more general statement that is more accessible that predicts " a few days delay" whilst other pages say "significant delays". So who knows?! A 'few" usually means three so. My express parcel Sydney to Perth took 14 days.

Domestic Express Post

How is that a parcel posted with regular standard parcel post can be processed in metro Perth on 8th April and delivered to recipient in regional NSW on the 15th April, yet an express post package going the other way can be dispatched from NZ on 7th April, handed to Aust Post in Sydney on 8th April post customs clearance, take 2 days to reach a major automated sorting facility also in Sydney on the 11th April, be sorted on the 12th April, be expected in metro Perth on the 15th April, be "delayed" on the 16th April, have a formal enquiry lodged on 16th April remain unaddressed as of 21st April, and remain in limbo as "delayed" with no further updates as of the 21st April? And Australia Post still offers its Express Post Service as the fastest way to have items delivered?

See question by a1342applemacbook2009 from 7 days ago on page 2 of the Q and A here which was responded to by an Aust Post Rep.

IMO it's Incompetence and a monopoly of the postal system so we don't really have many other choices and they know it.
