Hello. I have a parcel from a person in Australia to Lithuania. My first parcel was suppose to be sent on March 27th and second on April 17th. At the moment both tracking numbers say: "Cleared and awaiting international departure. SYDNEY NSW". What does this mean? When will this be sent? 2 months have passed.

I'm waiting 2 packages posted from Australia to Italy with International standard airmail on April 7 and 8, and the tracking for both says: "Delayed - transferring to sea carrier for international departure". CF133814836AU and CF133817846AU. Where are they after 7 weeks from dispatch? How much time I still have to wait?

My express parcel to the US: tracking number EJ245372045AU has been sitting in a depot in Brisbane supposedly waiting for an overseas flight for SEVEN WEEKS. My on-line inquiry has dried up. No-one is doing anything. When I posted a second enquiry out of pure frustration, they deleted it and said I already had one going. All is want is for one person, not Sonya, followed by Bill, followed by Tanya to do something and tell me why the parcel is not moving, and when it will move. I understand that Covid has affected mail, but they say on-line that express will be given priority. I’d hate to see how long the non-priority items will sit unmoved. It is now impossible to speak to an AP person on the phone. What a shambles! So very, very, very disappointed.

Hey Kat, so sorry to hear. If Australian Post cant tell you, then I fear no one can. Unless you sight this parcel it just guess work. You don't need guess work, just facts. There needs to be an inquiry into AP. I was once told the board decide there own wages. The CEO is paid three times more than our prime minister. AP is a complete mess, before the pandemic but now they have something to blame. Please try not to worry as it not going to move or find your parcel. Easy to say I know, its not going to help you. Only an enquiry into AP no service can help us all. If you can/If we all can, try not to use AP as much as possible. Ray

My parcel (coming to Belgium) left the shop on May 1st. Since the 2nd of May, my status hasn’t changed. I says: Cleared and awaiting international departure. So that means it’s still in Australia? It also says that it’s ‘on it’s way’. When I check the Belgian Post, it says that is being processed abroad. Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes to get a parcel from Australia to Belgium?

Hi, my parcel is shipped from Australia to Vietnam on 9th of April,2020, it is been 45 days and still have not arrived. I went to track the item and it says "Cleared and awaiting international departure" since 6th May and it doesn't seem moving. Hmm, If it has gone through the Sunshine sorting depot (I can't see any indication that it did for sure) they seem to be having horrible issue at the moment where parcels are sometimes being held up there for considerable time. AP are aware of this issue but seem to be failing to correct it.

Sorry I cannot find the email response I got from AP in relation to this but have just finished my own 6 month battle with them to simply get the driver to knock on the door, so as you can appreciate I have dozens of emails back and forth.

Hi Kamille

At present we are experiencing significant delays to USA. Due to limited airline capacity and government restrictions as a result of COVID-19. Australia Post is working with partner airlines and other postal operators to move items as quickly as possible and clear backlog. The standard parcel to the USA can take up to 35 business days. For further details, please have a look at the following site:

So thing is it’s been about 64 days since this parcel shipped. So we’re well beyond that 35 day mark

I had a look, I have had the same issue from the US and China over the years.
AP will probably blame customs TBH.

As it is "First class international" service, AP will not (or very very rarely) scan for tracking of any kind and you will most likely be told this too.. at which point I am betting it will show up at your door within a week.

If you have ANY other items coming to you from ANYWHERE there is also a good chance that the tracking number has just been lumped with that one as it is a cost cutting measure I have encountered that has infringed on my right to end to end tracking as purchased.

LZ865875535CN This one for example coming to me, arrived months ago.. I never lodged that query.. I have no reason to, and of course that date is only yesterday..
No idea what is going on with APs system.

33PRP0288035 was listed as delivered for 3 days before it arrived..
HA3001266401000930303 arrived on the 3rd of Feb.. as you can see there is still no tracking or even confirmation of delivery.

Oh and there was a Startrack (yeah I know its not strictly AP) express post delivery that took over a week because, well they never did tell me why.. something vague about the city being correctly stated instead of less correctly, the town. (it still had the street, number, postcode and country.. all that is strictly needed)

Thanks for the response. The irony of clicking the “help“ link or talking to an AP representative is lost on me, both of which continued to keep me in the dark. My parcel was sent on the 11th of April...

Domestic Express Post

----
Effective 20 April 2020, we're temporarily suspending the Express Post guarantee of a refund and replacement envelope or satchel for articles that don’t meet the next business day delivery standard
----

I doubt that if I sold an item in my business with a warranty or guarantee I could later say "nah, changed my mind, sorry" but that is exactly what Australia Post is doing here.

We have 100's of satchels that were purchased prior to April 20 and they were purchased with a guarantee. Surely this is just a case of the big boys standing on the little guy.

Is this a job for consumer affairs?

Ibne F.Australia Post

Hi

Our Express Post service will continue to be our fastest postal delivery option for our customers and we'll continue to prioritise these deliveries. They just may not be delivered next business day every time. This change is due to delays to our delivery services caused by the ongoing impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, including:

- a significant increase in parcels that require manual sorting
- social distancing measures in place at our facilities, which mean we can’t process items as quickly as usual
- a significant reduction in the availability of passenger flights which, in addition to our dedicated overnight airfreight network, also carry our parcels

The temporary removal of the Express Post guarantee is not intended to impact any rights that customers may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
