All details of the hire were clearly communicated, and any questions I had were answered quickly and in detail. The vehicle and the equipment were as described, and the staff member arranging the pick-up was personable and went through all relevant details regarding the equipment. Australian 4WD Hire gives that extra bit of freedom needed to go off the beaten track.

We enjoyed a great Easter weekend with our Australian 4WD Hire car. The car was clean, fully stocked with camp equipment and pickup and drop off were a breeze with a friendly local agent.

Depot was a bit far away for us-We live in Brisbane central- But customer service pre, post and on pickup and drop off was excellent- . all documentations processed fairly promptly and in a friendly manner. Car was clean and ready. all bond money was promptly refunded a few hours after returning the car. very seamless transaction. would definitely recommend Australian4WD Hire to anyone wanting a reliable car with all the necessary items to travel with. school holidays.

We hired a vehicle from this company in 2017. It was a terrible experience and one I would not wish on anyone else.

Their 4wd fleet is not comprehensively insured, if there is any damage during your hire they will hold you 100% liable.

The company were rude, aggressive and tried to extort money from us through the courts.

It is great to see they are finally being held to rights and being taken to court by the ACCC for breaching Australian consumer law.

We just had an amazing trip in Central Australia we picked up a Toyota FJ Cruiser from Australian 4WD Hire in Darwin, the FJ cruiser is an awesome vehicle for traveling around Central Australia equipped with a TJM roof top tent so we could camp at some of the most amazing places in the Top end. The TJM roof top tent is surprisingly easy to set up and pack up we were a bit sceptical before the trip but are very glad we chose this set up from Australian 4wd Hire.

Pre-sales support was good, however they clearly have a policy of ensuring you don't get your bond back. They record your speed every 60 seconds, and then if you exceed the speed limit they threaten you with police action unless you pay a 'fee'.

Won't ever use them again.

The entire process from the second we booked to returning our car was excellent customer service, quick responses and perfectly smooth from beginning to end. The security bond was super easy to manage and returned quickly aswell. But the best part about it was the car itself. We had a bush camper large GT with EVERYTHING included that you could possibly need. We drove from Sydney to Broome and enjoyed every KM of the 8000 we did in this awesome car! Can't recommend them enough to explore Australia the way its meant to be done! Thankyou!

Me and my brother hired the car to go from Adelaide up to Darwin. We had an fantastic time! The car is great, everything you need is included and the 4WD gave us excess to nice off-road tracks and highlights we could not have done with a normal car. I can highly recommend this company for anyone who what’s to go out and explore Australia in a 4WD!

Perfect 4wd car well equiped with all needs! Brought Toyota Prado from Adelaide to Darwin, great cruiser. Rooftop tent and fridge makes it super easy to camp in remote areas. Proper offroad track tyres for 4wd-ing. Easy pick up and drop off with friendly and helpful staff.

Good customer service in pick-up and return. Great value. Rented vehicle in perfect working condition and well maintained. Includes contained but more that enough recovery kit for prudent and careful use of the car. Rented a Jeep Wrangler Sport and enjoyed it on Fraser Island. Will rent with them if I go back to QLD.

I planned a road trip with my dog Zephyr from Brisbane into the QLD outback. I picked up the Toyota Hilux with the roof top tent from Australian 4WD Hire in Rothwell. The guy I dealt with was very friendly and gave me a lot of his time.
The car was a joy to drive on and off road, its a Hilux, you can't get much better!
The rooftop tent was incredibly easy to set up and they supplied a table, chairs and a gas cooker.
No issues throughout the whole trip and would happily use their services in the future.
