Time to consolidate into another Super fund
Well going on others comments and my personal disgust of Australian Super, I think it is about time to find a top performing super fund and consolidate my super over to them.
Australian Super has shown it's true colours in our times if need and to hinder and hold up an ATO authorised withdrawal of emergency super funds is simply disgusting.
I have looked into other Super funds and HESTA seems to perform quite well and so far have been quick to pay out Coronavirus super requests, this fund may not be for you but hey this is the time we need to...Read more
do our research and get the best Super fund that suits our best interest. Also keep in mind if you are paying for insurance with Australian Super, with their track record would they even payout if you needed to claim, eg: how long would they hold up a death benefit from your family or even try a technicality to not even pay out to your family. UPDATE - A Little hope for all of us struggling
I wrote a scathing review below, and have been very anxious about this due to financial commitments. I just wanted to give a little hope to all of those in the shoes i am - although i have heard nothing back at all, 2 updates to help us:

They are dodgy company
With australian super every time when you log on and check your account you will have less money than last time.I am wondering if there is anybody to control their work becouse they are terrible. I was just losing money with their premixed investment found and I changed all investments into cash (100%) . And when I check my account there is always less money. This is not posible! Try to contac them and they send me useless messages and mark conversation resolved. Whata a dodgy company!

ATO approved on 23rd April and now Australian super claims they didn't receive the automated notification from the ATO and ill have to wait another 5 business days before they're able to process the withdrawal. Seriously WTH?... For a company as large as Australian Super whom claim to be there for their members it's beyond a joke and id seriously warn anyone considering these criminals for any type of investment to look elsewhere... whilst im here, Years ago these thugs called and emailed regularly before i succumbed to their harassment and finally gave in to allowing Australian super To take over my superannuation on the promise they'd consolidate all my accounts with other entities into 1 aus' super account... then, each time they released a summary statement Id call asking why i now have 2 separate Australian super funds only to be assured each time they would rectify & consolidate them... Same as everyone else I got the approval letter on the 22/4/2020 still havent heard or recieving any money from them,called them and had waited for 2 hr still no one picking up the phone,cant talk to anyone, this is so frustrating

I got an sms message from Australian Super yesterday, that I didn't see until this morning. Great I thought! The lazy (deleted) have finally got around to contacting me, about my payment release. So I click on the HTTP link they put in the message, and its nothing more than a mish mash of cut and pasted info that comes straight off the ATO Covid-19 Super release website, plus a few bits and pieces added in here and there from Super SA's website (where I have noticed) they have added a few lines here and there "suggesting" that their lateness in...Read more
releasing funds is something they are not responsible for. (e.g. once we have released your payment, it may take the ATO several more days to verify?) (what the firetruck?) How come other people I know, who have had payments released from other funds, have not had to go through this? Also (as per usual Super SA behaviour) they are contradicting themselves, by sending out information that payment release will take around five days? Ah my maths is bad, but not that bad. We are currently sitting on day 12 and considering its Saturday, the next business day will be day 14. I don't know about others, but Super SA hasn't even got around to contacting me yet to verify my ID? (Which they are required to do) according to their (own) website, they have decided to do this via Australia Post (I kid you not, check it out yourself) This I am suspicious is a strategy that Super SA has chosen to use, to delay payments as every person and their dog knows that Australia Post is at this point in time, completely overwhelmed. )I have been waiting three weeks now, for a parcel (the size of a shoe box) to arrive from Melbourne!) Can you imagine how long its going to take for "all" Australian Super members to get these mailed out ID letters. Also the comment that Sam has made about people being audited for security/Fraud reasons, this is information that I "suspect" only an employee of Australian Super would know about? Poor reporting
I have been with Australian Super for over 20 years and I’m now retired. Their reports are very basic and it’s impossible to speak to a one.
Their fees are comparable to other large funds but since the customer service is non existent I would not recommend them.

Common superanuation release problems.
This is a common problem I see. I asked for early release, and was approved for it on the 21st of April, and have yet to recieve any response from REST or AustralianSuper. I also double checked that my information was correct, and updated everything in less that 2 business days from recieving my approval. Not one of the lucky ones who received their payment within 5 days
23/04 - ATO approved application and sent to AustralianSuper
28/04 - I called to update my phone number and check on application. Was told it had been processed and payment would be made that day or the next day.
01/05 - No funds received, no funds left my super account. I called to see what was happening, and was told my application was flagged, and they couldn't tell me why, but someone would call me within 48 hours.

This review is regarding covid-19 super withdrawal.
I've been with AusSuper since roughly 08, I'm leaving this review in regards to the covid-19 withdrawal only. I understand some people have been having some trouble, maybe these cases are an exception to the rule however I'm unsure. I applied on the 21st and recieved payment yesterday the 29th, a total wait time of 8 days, no problems at all. I know it's hard times but patience is key here, also there's obviously a reason some people's cases are being referred to the fraud/security team.

CoVid19 Payout. Might As Well Call It NoVid19 Payout
I have been with this fund for about 2 years and genuinely believed this fund would be good. First they jacked up the fees, then ridiculous charges up and down the account (Even in the last 2 days). Smoke and mirrors.
Like hundreds of other people I had applied via mygov for a covid super release. It was all approved and was expecting payment within 5 days. 7 days later contacted them and like hundreds of others I need to wait for another team to contact me. I reckon they are stalling as they do not have the money to pay and are trying to sell assets . Disgusting company. One I get my money I'm changing funds straight away. To all those getting stuffed around by them you should Lodge a complaint via AFCA. They are the governing body for super funds. If you are experiencing financial hardshid they can expedite it.

Covid-19 payouts
I applied from ato and was approved for early super payout on the 21st of April then went on live chat on Tuesday the 29th to see the update and then the person called [name removed] said the alert team will call me within 48 hours before paying me. Once I receive the money changing super. Customer service is carp for a big company to not realase payouts. I can see lot of people going to change super very soon. Early release covid no transparency rude attitude of customer service
6 business days after approval and nothing. No release. Being told by chatbot via app next week some time just to process it and treating me like I'm a pain in the rear. Doesnt matter when i explain that i have anxiety and this is making it worse, they dont care about mental health. Just give me a date, stop stringing me along. This is so exhausting.

Make up excuses to not pay you your money
Like a lot of people I have been approved from the ATO for early release of super on the 21st April and still nothing still no contact no communication no email no SMS no contact from Aus super whatsoever,
First time I called up they told me that there was an alert and that I had to wait 48 hours for them to contact me still nothing.
Called them again a few days later for them to hang up on me after waiting 45 minutes on hold.

Lies lies lies that's all they give you. Never again with Australia super. They told me that my funds were released in the 23rd of april. Its now the 1st of May. WHERE IS MY MONEY. You gamble with my funds on stocks and shares and when its time to release my funds you take your time. Very bad super fund don't sign up for constant lies.

Like lot of people I applied for early release of superannuation on the 19th ato approved 21st and I received the text. From then onward down hill with Australian Super, they say within 5 days you will receive the funds. Havent receive nothing. No I did not roll my super into this account recently. I have been on disability with centrelink. And like the one above me, as soon as this is cleared and paid, I will be removing the rest iof it as well. There is a person on here who has been waiting for 3 months to get a claim on his mother's life insurance for three months, which was before covid cause all kinds of wrenches to be thrown in the works. He also has no communication. I think that makes things clear on one account, they have no copmpassion, and they will have none in the future.

I have been helping someone but you must make sure everything is correct on application as they try to delay payment
AustralianSuper will try and not pay you out.... The big boss owns a lambo and hopes to pay it off with its customers fee's... Change your super company and you won't have an issue.
I am in the same situation and don't want to pay the tax but they are making it impossible to get the funds out prior to her death. i have done everything and they are now telling me that it is with the Trust Office and there is no time frame and when it will be processed.
