Ordering online should be swift, painless and an effective way of shopping. I thought I would give baby direct a chance on some purchases for the company I work for, which is large Australia wide. We will not be bringing our business back, which is very disappointing. I ordered a couple sterilizers, it went through and I paid. I got an email the next day stating that they were out of stock. is out the window. The support for online is through an email address where they state they have a 24 hour turn around time. We have been chasing them for 3 weeks via phone and email to get our money back. I spoke to someone today and they said they will ask them to process it asap... we then have to wait ANOTHER 10 days for the money to be refunded, assuming they actually process it today. There are so many other baby shops that service is 10 fold... chose them first!! We ordered over 100 sippy cups from Baby Kingdom at the EXACT same time, they came in less than a week.I wish they had the sterilizers we wanted available. Poor customer service
I have been to Baby direct Ringwood couple of times and the staff there is not helpful at all. I had to walk to the Cashier multiple times when I had a question or wanted to know more about a product. The staff gather around at the cashier and chat to eachother without helping the customers that walk in to the store. Both times I have been there I walked out frustrated and bought the products from other baby stores even though I had to spend couple of$ extra. They had poor knowledge about the products they have on the store. Very poor customer service!

Not the best experience
Ordered a Boori cot on lay by for three months, had to call them weekly to where my order was at, one store told me it wasn’t coming until Feb other store told me part of the order was in, after hassling them we found out that the drawers had been discontinued and tried to sell me drawers of another set, a little disappointed with the customer service side as we had to keep calling up, in the end got a refund and brought elsewhere.
The pram we ordered was the same story only to be told a day later it was in for pick up.
Unfortunately we kept getting wrong information and the whole process was stressful when if they provided the right information could of been avoided.

Great service and good price
we bought a cot and chest drawer from baby direct, pick up the item on the same day, they have got really good price and service in store, we set up the furniture package and they look beautiful, unlike a lot other stores sale expensive baby product, they really had the right item at right price. Love to shop at baby direct

So happy with our Riley Cot!!
We are really happy with the Riley cot we purchased for our daughter! It’s a really beautiful cot and is defiantly the highlight in our nursery. The quality is great and it was easy to assemble. Thank you Baby Direct!

Overall ok experience but...
Good range of products and competitve prices however very average service and zero attention to detail. We were their regular customer for over 8 weeks not for buying new things but for returning the faulty delivered items.

I ordered a Maxi Cosi car seat and their website crashed with a "fatal error" page on checkout. I tried calling the 1300 number, there is no one you can talk to for online orders. I called the same number to speak with someone from the Ringwood store and was told they don't deal with online orders, I would need to email them.

Next day I receive an email confirming the stock has been dispatched from the Ringwood store and is being collected by Australia Post. I called the Ringwood store again, and they were now instantly able to cancel the dispatch and process a refund via eway (confirmation email on approved refund now received). This pram isn’t safe for my baby to use
We bought a pram through baby direct last year firstly they took ages to get the pram to us they said it’s on order and we were kept on chasing them until we got the pram.

Wouldn’t recommend
I purchased a grey striped blanket online and received a blue blanket with elephants. Customer service informed me the item I had ordered was out of stock and would be back within 6 weeks if I wanted to wait. I then had to send them back the item and pay for postage out of my own pocket, follow them up a few months later and I’ve been sent the wrong item again. I give up!

I ordered a bassinet online that said it was in stock. Once paid said shipping would be in 5 days. Then got an email that there be a 2-3week wait I called the company and said I wait as long as that as long as it would take. They said if there was any change in time frame they would call me. all me back first thing on Monday never did. I called today explained the situation the man found out that it won t be coming into stock. No apologise no voucher for my hold up. Just tried to get me to choose another one. When I wanted my money back I was told it could be 3 days +. I told them I was unable to wait as I needed the money to buy one today. The man said I transfer it using your card and should be in within an hour that was 11 am today still no money. I have also informed them several times that the product I ordered is still on there website say in stock I told then that is unethical and they said they fix it up. All went well, got what I ordered fine.
Was a little concerned by reading some of the reviews but all worked out fine. Ordered a cot online and it was delivered a week or so later. No issues so what ever the problem was seems to have been resolved.

Website states items in stock when false, website breaks, refund took over the time stated by custom
First things first the website is absolute shoddy development and misleading.
I found the pram I wanted discounted (note, this wasn't a huge discount was just discounted - I later got the same discount at BabyBunting and a better service), I proceeded to purchase the pram which stated on the website that it was 'in stock', upon purchase (after payment) the website broke and I could only see header, due to me being a tester I found this was caused by the 's' in 'https' in the URL (removing the 's' brought back the page completely) - Bit of a ...Read more
worry straight up when you enter payment details, confirm and the website breaks, confidence was shattered at that point. Also had to request a re-send of the confirmation email as that didn't arrive... I then received an email to state that this item was not in fact in stock (even though the website claimed it was) and it would take 5-6 weeks, upon discussing with my partner we decided not to wait due to my due date being in the 6th week so requested a refund. I was assured the refund would be processed and I would receive it in 7-10 business days. Waited the total amount of time and still no refund. I contacted via email and was told that they had a list of refunds to go through and mine was top of the list and I would be contacted when done, due to the time and money I wanted more than that I wanted to know exactly when it was done, after some more exchanges on the 11th day I finally received an email from the third party payment service the website is using to say it had been processed - I then received my refund the next day. Note that the whole time the item still stated it was in stock when that is false information, so they basically take your money without having the items there. The only positive and the reason why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because on all but one occasion the did reply to emails (1 time I had to send another email to prompt a reply).Similar opinion? Bad customer service!
Went in hoppers crossing store to buy a cot, pram, bassinet and a car seat. Was given a quote by the guy working there after spending 2 hours. Asked him to double check if he could do a better price by asking his manager over the phone. 5 mins later he said sorry can’t do any better, infact i under quoted you so it will be $400 more!!
Do not stick on their word after giving a price and they are supposed to price match?? Wasted so much time!!

Do not choose this company
I ordered a cot from Baby Direct in May, was told I’d have to wait 4 weeks which eventually stretched to 7 weeks. It was extremely stressful having to constantly chase up the issue especially as it got to my due date. The only reason we managed to get our cot was probably because my husband got in touch with the manufacturers who promised to help. If you are looking for a fuss free experience I do not recommend these guys. As other posters have mentioned they also have very poor customer service and long wait times on the phone. Pick a more reliable company!!

Worst experience
Went in store to order our pram and bedding package as they offered the most competitive price. Ordered it, paid a deposit (was heavily encouraged to leave a higher deposit) thank god we didn't because the next time we returned to continue shopping and check on our order the shop had closed!!!!! No notice, no call, no money back. Very dodgy!!!!
Luckily we were able to find another, reputable place to fill our order but not without having to pay a higher price and lose the money we laid down for our order with Babies Direct.

relocation sale that the store will relocating, also there are clear signs at the time in the shop advising that we are relocating the store, you are welcome to pick up you Layby item from our other branchs, also we would never say that we want heavy Layby deposit, all we asking is 25% deposit to be left on all Layby orders. PATHETIC - STAY AWAY!!!
Like so many others, my product did not arrive. After many weeks of me calling them, I cancelled my order on the phone, which was accepted and a refund was promised. After 2 further calls and two emails, stone silence and NO REFUND!
This store can not deliver what they promise, are more than happy to take your thousands of dollars and will deliberately ignore you and hope you will go away.
STAY AWAY - Google a product search of what you like and use a reputable, local store. I'm disputing with MasterCard now and will commence recovery proceedings if this fails

It would seem we’re having a similar issue with Baby-Direct re product not in stock and having to wait (which isn’t an issue providing we get what we ordered before the kid arrives). However they have now started to ask my partner for copies of her Drivers Licence to prove she’s not fraudulent. Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

I did provide my driver's license and said I was happy to wait the few weeks it would take to come in. But then after waiting the time they estimated, I got another email saying it would be another few weeks. I would ask for a refund now and shop somewhere else.
No, I haven't been asked for my driver's licence. I would strongly advise against providing. After my experience, I wouldn't advise anyone to doing business with them.
