Great knife sharpening steel

I've had this Sharpening steel since October 2018. After 18 months it sharpens well but not as well as when new. It works well to keep the edge on knives between sharpenings on a sharpening block. It isnt intended I don't think to sharpen a very blunt knife, rather to keep the edge on between sharpenings on. It is well balanced and a pleasure to use.
