Bank First Credit Card Issue
Loyal 90 year old customer from Brisbane is now unable to deposit credit card payment at Commonwealth Bank by cheque. Family members have now assisted by making transfers by internet banking from another banks account to the credit card account number on his paper credit card statement. Unbeknownst to them the transferred money with reference to a credit card payment was paid into a Savings account and First Bank paid only the minimum amount from that account. t Bank needs to be advised by phone or letter that each payment is transferred from Savings account. Surely First Bank can provide an account number of the Credit card for internet banking from another bank. Apparently the number on the statement is the Savings account. There are better banks out there
I have been with this bank for a number of years (around 20 years) and although they were relatively great in the beginning they have gradually gone downhill.
Recently after moving house and forgetting to update my details online my loan account went into arrears. The bank claim they tried to contact me by mail but I received nothing. Most likely due to not updating my details. The bank then happily took out $20 a month in arrears from December until April until I noticed it and fixed the arrears. No phone call, no text message and no sympathy...Read more

I am shocked they have overall good reviews...
They were pleasant to deal with when opening a loan, they were responsive and overall nice to deal with. However it all changed once we took out the loan. We have been very unhappy with the service over the past few years and have noticed the variable rate is a lot higher than other banks. We know of 3 other couples that are leaving or have left because they are so unhappy. I would be careful of the variable rate and compare it to other banks. Also check the exist fees just in case. y did not mind if we left. We were on a high fixed rate but the variable proportion was 0.40 higher than where we are now and also had lower ongoing fees. We also found it a bit frustrating that if you ever had a question the team could never answer it on the spot. They would always have to check and come back to you and we would usually be chasing weeks for a response. It was pretty unprofessional.... especially for a bankSimilar opinion? Excellent Friendly Service
I have been with Bank First for many years, and have always received Excellent Service. The staff are friendly and always Very helpful. Nothing is to much trouble for them. Service with a smile. I would Highly Recommend Bank First.

Excellent Service
Great experience with this bank.. Easy to deal with and low fees and charges. Good experience .Highly recommended.. Though i went to another bank for my another car this time as rate of interest offered was even better but overall a great bank to deal with.. Better than Big 4 banks..

refinancing our home loan was so easy
Bank First are amazing. We wanted to change over our home loan and from the moment we contacted Bank First we received personalise email from Andrew who was so helpful and went out of his way to explain everything to me . We also wanted to change our bank accounts over and with the help of Imogen this was so easy . The customer service we receive has been above and beyond our expectations . They went out of their way to make sure everything went smoothly . I feel so happy to have found a bank that is about people first .

Very helpful team
I have been very happy with my experiences with Bank First. I have recently organised a car loan through them, and found Julie-Ann to be helpful and pleasant and honest. I had a short time frame to organise everything in, and she ensured everything went quickly abs smoothly.
My husband and I have also been dealing with Richard Farr for our home loan and he has likewise been helpful, upfront and great to deal with. Very pleased with Bank First's customer service so far.

Fantastic personalised service...from a bank!
Service was exemplary. Felt very supported throughout the process. Assessors looked at our individual situation when approving the loan, not just ticking boxes. Contacted regularly by the bank with updates. Extremely fast turn around once approved.

Excellent service always
I applied for a credit card. Julie-Ann Moffat dealt with me. She was courteous, friendly, professional and thorough. She was able to explain the whole process very clearly and helped me with the application. She was also very efficient and must have process the application very quickly as I have just heard from her that my application has been approved. Thanks so much Julie-Ann.

Easy, streamlined process
Brilliant customer service from Julie-Ann. She was receptive to my special requirements and clear about how she could help and timing.
I did not experience any extra costs or any other surprises. Everything was clearly communicated/disclosed.

Very happy with customer service and personal loan
I am extremely satisfied with the rate of my new green car loan that I have received. After doing lots of research I found this one to be the best. As this was my first ever loan I was a bit nervous but found the customer service amazing. I dealt with Stephen Forster, Personal Banker, and he exceeded my expectations. He was very thorough, professional and understanding when things didn't go to plan. He was kind, patient and explained everything to me very well. I spoke to a few other Bank First employees as well and they were as excellent. I would definitely recommend the bank and will be looking into what else they offer. Thank you

Couldn't even open a simple bank account
They are so incompetent, they can't even open a simple bank account. Look at the letter they sent me when I tried to open a simple bank account. Their incompetence begins even at simple things - I'd hate to see how they deal with even slightly complicated matters!!!:

Unhappy with Bankfirst's customer support
I decided to take out travel insurance through Bankfirst. I started off by getting an online quote, which was $471. I had a few questions on the travel insurance plan that I selected so I phoned the travel insurance department. The consultant was friendly and said that she could assist me with the insurance. I provided the dates and details and when I asked her to repeat the details back to me she had the dates incorrect (a shorter time frame than I wanted). was much lower than the online quote. I asked her why there was such a difference but she couldn't provide an answer. I thought that maybe I struck it lucky so I paid the amount. A few minutes after our conversation I received an Insurance certificate confirming the details of the insurance I just paid for. The dates were still incorrect. I phoned back and the same consultant answered. I explained what happened and she apologised and said that she will fix it but can only do so at the start of the new week (on the coming Monday as it was a Friday then). I couldn't understand this but said that it is fine. She promised to phone me first thing in the morning on Monday, as soon as they opened for business. This never happened. I had to phone her midday (3 hours after she said that she would phone me). She apologised again and said that she will credit me $20 for the inconvenience. It is now two weeks later and I still haven't received that credit. She then charged me an extra $77 after she corrected the dates to make up for the extra dates that wasn't charged before. Later on I added the two amounts up (the $413 I previously paid added to the new amount) and it came to $490. So the total amount was now even higher than the original online quote. I was sent a survey by email afterwards to rate the service and I expressed how unhappy I was with the service and that I would like them to contact me. That was 6 days ago. I haven't received any call from them since that request. I contacted them today and requested to speak to the supervisor. Guess what? He/she wasn't available "but he would phone me back". I wonder how long I will have to wait for that to happen. I am really unhappy with this level of customer service. I am tired of companies who make promises they do not keep. What has happened to great customer service? I read other good reviews and think "am I the unlucky one here?" Based on my experience, I wouldn't advise anyone to use their services. Fast assistance exactly when I needed it
I had to meet a large payment deadline. When I attempted to make the payment online, it exceeded the daily maximum amount. Called Bankfirst, and after appropriate security checks, immediately arranged for the limit to be temporarily lifted, then watched as I completed the transaction and verified that it had gone through with no further problems. Excellent service, fast, efficient and spot on. Well done.

First Class Service
From my first conversation with Julie-Ann I found her extremely knowlegable, informative and genuinely interested in helping achieve my goal.
Once the loan had been approved Julie-Ann kept in touch to ensure that everything wass proceeding smoothly and to overcome any hiccups if they occurred.
Overall an extremely pleasant person to deal with and a credit to Bank First.

The best bank
The staff were amazing and very friendly and they are quick with transactions and they dont keep you waiting for any reason better service than any other bank if you call them on the phone they wont keep you waiting or place you on hold
