No better than other internet providers!
Have been waiting for the ADSL connection to be activated for nearly 20 days now and they are just inordinately prolonging the waiting period. Furthermore, despite paying 149 dollars for the internet order, I keep getting messages stating that the payment was declined. When this was pointed out to a customer care representative, their initial response was: 'So what's wrong with that message?'. After realizing their mistake, they could only offer the following explanation: 'The messages were generated by the system by mistake! Just ignore them'!. How PATHETIC!

Lies! there is a connection fee
Only after signing up do you find out you have to pay a connection fee of $168 is the phone line is not already connected. Also it is Telstra connection.

Best internet service provider EVER!!!
Barefoot service highly recommended!!! They have been very proffessional at handling all sorts of customer support coz im a fuzzy customer and they always helped me at all times!! They did not even charge me for the late payments because i have been unemployed and its a huge deal !!! Most polite and priffessional customer service ever seen in my life!! What can i say please dnt spend money on big brands coz they have asian customer service and they treat customers well not very nicely!! Please move to Barefoot asap if ur stuck with a useless service provider! Huge thank u for Barefoot for being helpful! Also its more convienient if ur open all 7days too just my point of view. Best phone experience I've had regarding home internet!
Read some reviews and sounded good so phoned and received fantastic telephone service right from beginning to when my ADSL connection was switched on..constant updates and only took 3 business days! Rang support and got fast and efficient friendly man who was patient and very knowledgeable!

Not user friendly for multiple accounts management!
1. Customer service is great, you don't have to wait when you call their CS. Their CS is the best in Australia
2. They use Telstra's phone lines in Sydney, it took 3 whole days to just wait for the technicians at home and more than 1 month to get the internet actually connected for 2 of the apartments and 2 weeks for the other 2.
While Exetel got my places connected within 10 days and able to send Optus' technicians to my places the next day after I called their CS. Exetel uses Optus's phone lines in Sydney.

hat I connected a couple of my places with Barefoot, and they separate my 4 addresses into 4 different accounts. When I wanted to check my bills, I have to log in 4 times for them while other utility companies actually let me manage all addresses in one account. I decided to use other telecoms after I found these issues. Other than this, I'm happy with their customer services. Barefoot should consider switching to Optus instead of Telstra in Sydney area.1 comment

Barefoot has an excellent service & product.
Barefoot saved me big time with no contract, unlimited local calls included in the price which is $69 a month and to get your phone line connected (line already installed) only $69. All the others are a minimum of approximately $120 to $180 not including modem/router. I had a router already and it was very easy to get online. Also the customer service operator/salesman gave me a direct line where by I could call him so you're not just talking to random operators. The Barefoot Portal where you pay your bills and check usage is easy to understand...Read more

Terrible, slow and unusable service
Experienced constant service dropouts (there were entire days when the connection wouldn’t stay up any longer than 5 mins) and extremely slow connection speeds of less than 5 Mbps down on ADSL2+, made the service totally unusable.
Called support and was told to try a different modem and get the phone line checked, even though I explained that I had a fast and reliable service at the same premise with a previous service provider. I had no choice but to switch to another service provider who can actually provide a fast, reliable and usable internet service. Very disappointed with Barefoot.

The customer service at Barefoot is beyond impressive, they are always happy to speak with you and sort out any issues that may arise. ADSL2+ speed is slow BUT that is a Telstra issue as Telstra own the infrastructure for my address, but that's another review haha. I have spoken with John, Adrian and a few others and their service skills are impressive, I am treated like a human when I call Barefoot, that's why they are so great

Excellent internet provider
I changed from TPG to Barefoot and they have been excellent. The connection is good and their support team is very friendly and helpful. When you call them you don't have to wait for someone to take your call, you simply leave a message and they always call back very quick after. One of the best thing was that there wasn't any setup fee and no locked in contract. And lastly, "Barefoot Telecom" is a cool name :-)

The best Customer Service I Have Ever Dealt With
Note* I did not end up purchasing broadband from Barefoot due to unforseen circumstances.
In short, Barefoot has the best customer service of any company I have dealt with. When signing up, Frank was exceptional. The process of signing up was clear, fast and Frank was extremely helpful and polite. When having to cancel, I was worried about getting my money back as it was to do with Telstra not barefoot. Signed up using compare broadband (never use that site they are dodgy as.)
STUNNED when I was unable to access my usual frequented website. Support n tech teams have spend 6 weeks exhausting them self and the stupid website had Te issue. Not even mate. But they went ABOVE AND BEYOND BLUE in attempting to fix this issue.
It's nice to tell someone an issue and they UNDERSTAND YOU and then come back with useful responses I can also understand.

Amazing, connected without issues
When moving into a new house we decided to get My republic ISP after 3 days waiting they sent me a email saying there is no active line so we are unable to provide our services. Then i rang to Barefoot Telecom after searching their reviews. Connected, but not without issues
After trying to transfer our ADSL service from iiNet to Aust.Online and being told that we couldn't transfer because we were connected to non-Telstra equipment, we tried Barefott to see if we'd do any better. I sent an email to Barefoot asking if they would also be unable to transfer us because of this issue and they replied promptly, but it was a fairly vague response and appeared that they didn't really check it.

iPrimus suck, still better than barefoot
I signed up for ADSL2, first 48 hours had 300ms ping to google and internet dropped out every few minutes, had 16mbps down for the first 2 weeks. Have had 7mbps sync for the last week, barefoot requested multiple speedtests and then told me my service is meant to be adsl1, so there's no issue. Haha, are you guys serious? Don't believe all of the fake reviews here either. I'm a real person and barefoot telecom suck, don't waste your money. Bad service, bad products. I even have a confirmation email stating I signed up for adsl2 from barefoot.

Your modem is syncing at approximately 7Mbps. As advised, we logged a speed fault for your service and the carrier advised that your speeds are the best available speed at your location based on your distance to the exchange and the quality of your copper. If you are unhappy you are completely free to leave as we have no contracts on any of our plans and no cancellation fees.Then why did it sync at 16Mbps for the first 2 weeks?

you won't regret
After having bad experience trying to get connected, finally we contacted Barefoot Telecom - fast, efficient and super friendly. We got a contract in October and we are enjoying it since. Anytime we have enquiry or question they are quick to respond. The speed is good, and the connection is reliable. Really happy!

Honestly not worth the time and money. Junk!
We setup an ADSL 2 connection to our house. Our old speeds use to be 12 fast and flat down and 1.2 up. Now with barefoot, we get the barefoot minimum. 2-5mbs down and .2 up if we're lucky. The line can now not even handle the 4 people in the house. We shouldn't have moved from TPG i didn't realise they would provide us with a worse connection. These reviews now seem dodgy, too many positive reviews for an ISP. Somethings sketchy. We rang the tech support on the first day of activation and the technician said "So would you like to cancel than?" ...Read more
The customer support is so bad. You ring, they take your details EVERY TIME and then call you back. What kind of call centre is that! I've had to give my details EVERY TIME over 10 TIMES! As advised, when we initially ordered your service, a service qualification check indicated that no ADSL2 ports were available. There is no difference in the cost for ADSL2 or ADSL1 so we would always want to offer you the best connection possible - we do not pay extra to access ports, that's not how it works.
