Fantastic support without waiting for hours on a phone!
Connection has been very stable for 2 years. When I had one recent issue (related to modem) it was solved over the phone within 15 minutes. Almost unbelievable in these times.

Best telecom provider I have experienced.
I have previously had NBN from four other companies. Since then I have stayed with Barefoot at three separate addresses.
The difference is the speed at which everything is set up, customer service you receive and the speed during periods of off peak/peak usage.
With other telecom providers my installation ranged from 1-4 weeks. The longest installation took 2 days with Barefoot after an internal optic cable was severed in our apartment building and an NBN contractor had to come out to replace the cable.

rom Barefoot has been flawless. With other telcos they do not care about you. I cannot stress how little they care, I have had the pleasure of escalating to the relevant ombudsman which resulted in compensation due to our lost business from a failure to provide a service I was paying for. After being on the phone for literally hours at a time (on many separate occasions) being bounced between the sales team, to the technical team, back to the sales team, back to the technical team - I just got transferred from the sales team don't transfer me back to, back to the sales team, sorry what you think is a problem isn't a problem - Great thanks for your help. Meanwhile with Barefoot every query, every concern has been addressed and nine times out of ten they have contacted me before I have noticed anything to let me know I will be experiencing problems while the service is rectified as the NBN network has issues. Before Barefoot I lived a lie and chose to believe that 60% of my advertised speed was reasonable. When my speed dropped to 10% of the advertised speed I believed that was the network under strain and this was reasonable. If you are not able to achieve at least 80% of your advertised speed at any point during the day this is because your telecom provider is terrible. It is not the network under strain - Change your telecom provider!1 comment

Not bad but not great
I joined Barefoot when none of the other big companies could provide ADSL at my house in western Sydney. I couldn't fault their internet and local phone service. It was great.
Moving to the NBN has been somewhat disappointing. When it's working, it's good. But there are numerous dropouts every single day.
Hard to know if it's because of Barefoot itself or the NBN or because how it gets delivered (FTTN). Some of these are beyond their control. So, I don't want to seem too harsh towards Barefoot.

Great service and Speeds
My experience with Barefoot has been nothing but exceptional and coming from Hellstra it was such a welcome relief. I couldn't believe my eye when I sent them an enquiry about my billing and I had a response back from them in under 5 minutes, resolving the concern. The other bonus being the speeds are always good and I'm getting 55/23 on NBN HFC in Sydney, northern beaches. Can't be happier!

Great Internet, better support!
We have been with Barefoot for over 2 years now and their NBN is a very reliable connection and we have never experienced a dropout. Conversion to a new address was seamless and their customer support is second to none. I have recommended Barefoot to many people who cant thank me enough after they experienced many frustrating experiences with other providers.

Great product with Aussie support
I joined Barefoot as it was the cheapest for what I needed at the time. I found it to be easy to set up using a modem I bought myself at a local store and it was also easy to cancel when the time came. The speed was slightly above the advertised 'typical busy speed' and I didn't have any issues with it dropping out. The best part is the support call staff are caring and patient people who are easy to understand (they are in Australia!).

Great product and awesome service
I have been with Barefoot over 12 months now and have never regretted my decision. I get great internet and excellent phone service on the occasions I have had to call them regarding minor billing and modem issues. Awesome and easy!
Had previously been with an internet provider that caused me a lot of drama. I needed to switch to nbn, so thought I’d change providers too. When I contacted Barefoot, they were so helpful, efficient and easy to deal with. They set it all up with no dramas, sent the technicians out to connect the nbn and it was up and working immediately. Service so far has been fast and consistent!

Almost perfect
Signed up for the 100/20 NBN plan. Generally speaking it's great and provides better connection then the previous service providers used at this address but have yet to check consistency of advertised line speeds with those actually received. Customer service team have also been far more pleasant to communicate with then providers used in the past.

Barefoot NBN review.
Internet works fine and support is good. The lack of an smtp server for email clients is a royal pain in the neck. Effectively forces people on to web based email. This is not always desirable. The bundled mobile phones and landline are good value

We do have an outgoing mail server for emails: smtp.m2ws.oss-core.net However, it is recommended to use the outgoing mail server of your email client. Regards, The Barefoot teamI'll try that. Transition from ADSL went smoothly. 50 package gives me around 43 mbts.

My thanks to them
I've been with Barefoot for over a year with my ADSL2. Finally NBN has been connected to my house.
Being 90 years old I wasn't looking forward to having to go through the process of setting up the modem.
Barefoot Technician Tony guided me through the process and had had lots of patience. My download speeds are up to four times faster over 11 mbps out of 12 mbps purchased.
An Australian company that's a pleasure to deal with.

Happy enough
Good phone support, never had any dramas connecting, a few drop outs here and there but for a bush town pretty happy. There maybe cheaper options but was happy with no lock in contracts.
Only negative I can think of is when changing address, if you're paid up for the month and move early in the month you have to start a new payment from when you move, so you might pay 2 months worth in for example 5 weeks. Have had to do it twice and a little dirty about it...

Absolutely absurd customer "service" despite them failing to provide broadband for over 3 weeks without contact
My god. Barefoot telecom is woeful. Be very careful considering to use them. They do not care about their customers AT ALL. If it wasn't my connection not working, it was spam marketing from them or outages.

Wireless NBN ? Not so good
Apparently the best available option for our remote area (we have heard the horror stories of sattellite users in our area)??? Perched atop a hill we readily face the wireless NBN tower. The maximum plan speed we can get is 50/20. We struggle to get close to that on downloads - peaks rarely hit above 40, but worse is we usually only get around 4 upload. This makes remote access to our home network very difficult, especially for streaming media.

Great NBN & mobile service
I a NBN12 & NBN Plan (50, I think?) in 2 different houses and have not had significant dropouts. The service has been excellent and support is also good, especially because I get to speak to Australians. The mobile reception is also really good. The only minor issue is that I look forward when international roaming is available.
