Great before purchase - BAD after
They were 'lovely' while I was leading up to buy it. After they had my money, I was a nobody. Even when I went to pick it up, I noticed there wasn't any water in the Windscreen wiper reservoir, I informed the Sales Rep who was handing me the keys. Her reply was "oh don't worry YOU can fill that anytime". What I expected (and told her so) was that a staff member would smile and say "fix that in just a jiffy" and run off to find some water. Incidents like this make you wonder what else they missed on 'pre-delivery inspection'. I took it back for ...Read more
it's first service and told them about the "Pronunciation", they shrugged and said "yeah, we know, there will be an update out soon, will cost ya about a hundred and twenny bucks". Since then the Dealer has changed their business name (not sure if they were bought, or changed management), but when I took car for a service, they 'updated' the Infotainment (free), and now the pronunciation is much better. Shortly after the service, I was sent a text asking me to 'rate' them. I did, and the online rating system told me "In appreciation, your next service will be free". As my next service won't be for a year, I sent them an email to ask them how I would 'prove' my next service was free. And so far, after 6 weeks... no reply. So.... LUV the car... very little respect for the Dealer. Reception staff were rude, they never called back when they said they would, do not answer email. They are now called Sydney Volkswagen (or similar), hopefully the name isn't all that is changed.1 comment

Beware of capped price service scam
I purchased a brand new t5 transporter in 2013 and was given the capped price service schedule. My 30,000 km service according to the schedule was supposed to cost me $383 but it cost me $719 it turns out that the original price has gone out the window and they now charge $500 plus a pollen filter $81 and break fluid $138 it appears that they have purposely left the latter two items off the capped price and add them on when you take your vehicle to them.
There is no mention of a price increase or additional costs for pollen filter and brake ...Read more

Barloworld Volkswagen Mascot
* Reception staff rude and transfer call mid sentence. Sales consultant advised they have
received complaints about her.
* Staff do not call back when they say they will.
* No follow up call or e-mail to see how the new vehicle is going. (Mazda are wonderful at
Customer interaction such as this).
* Staff registered vehicle for business use when it should have been private, after many
phone calls and messages left. This was never resolved by the dealership or their
registration clerk.

* Misled when purchasing vehicle, package selected yet when vehicle was delivered a part of It was missing. After a heated discussion with their incompetent service staff and sales manager including two trips back all within the first 7 days of ownership, issue rectified. * The automated voice as per the standard satellite navigation is appealing. So bad the voice Can not pronounce a street name. Contacted Volkswagen customer care centre. Told they Are aware of the issue and that I would have to wait for a fix. Advised to call back 'in a few Months'. Pathetic. When questioned as to why all customers will not be notified when a fix Is available, I am told 'we only do this when a vehicle is recalled, and this is not a recall'. The taste this brand has left in my mouth, a vehicle that is 5 weeks old, 1,241kms and costing over $44,000 leaves a lot to be said for. The staff clearly do not care about the customer and after reading other reviews it seems this is a trait of Volkswagen Australia. That they simply invest no time or money in their overall customer experience. We will not be servicing our fixed price vehicle thru Barloworld and chance are while we love the car, Our next choice will not be a Volkswagen based on their after sales service alone. The vehicle itself is pure German, solid and safe Terrible after sales service. Volkswagen do not care about the customer.

Excellent buying process so far
I am in the process of buying a used C200 from the Moorabin office of Baloworld. The expeience so far is great, their sales person [name removed] came to visit me and manager [name removed] is helping to make the car in the best condition. I would add my feedback again after I use the car for a while but so far it's a nice experience

Breaking the ‘salesman’ mould
This was the first time we purchased a new car and so we were naturally apprehensive about the process of dealing with your typical ‘salesman’. What a pleasant surprise to deal with a team that is nothing like your typical car dealership. No patronising remarks, no talking to the male only, no hard sell to the point of queasiness…Our experience with [names removed] at Barloworld VW Bayside on the Nepean hwy in Moorabbin was consistently easy going and left us feeling comfortable and confident about the purchase of our new VW Tiguan 132TSI. Update: Just took Golf in for its 3 year service. Barloworld in Mascot, is now Sydney City VW. Improvements? No.
hem to do a wheel rotation. I said that would be good, until they told me it would cost an extra $165. I said to forget it, would do it myself. Then... on the way home I thought... they already had the wheels off (supposedly) to service and check the brakes, so they could have easily just put them back on in rotated pattern, perhaps for a nominal fee for wheel balance of $10-$15 a wheel.... but $165..... So no... now my 3 year is over, I will never set foot in that Mascot dealership, whatever they decide to change their name to.While I waited for my car to be done, they came and politely asked me if I would like t...
