HEATHERBRAE BARRIER REEF POOLS
We have just had our Slimline Pool installed from Heatherbrae Barrier Reef. Antony was our contact and provided us with excellent information and follow ups, he was always available and prompt in returning our calls. Beck, the secretary was a great source of information an help, and always available. The installers Shaun and Dan were fantastic, slaving in the hot sun, got the pool in and set up in two days, spread our dug out soil and levelled it as part of the process, explained the workings and unit etc. Try other pool suppliers if you like b...Read more
ut you wont get the kind of service we had from Antony and his crew at Barrier Reef Heatherbrae. Also has a great list of concreters, tilers, and any other service they recommend and use. Thanks guys. Off for a refresh in the cool of the pool.... Ian Fern Bay Seaside

Barrier Reef Pools Friendly staff!
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to this company down at Beaudesert Qld. When I went in to have look for an inground pool, I was greeted by a lovely lady who showed me around, She was most helpful, as were the rest of the team!

Find out how Barrier Reef Pools compares to other Pool & Spa Shops
Know better, choose better.
Information pack contained two brochures same pictures but different names
We were ready to pay to install a barrier reef pool after visiting their display centre in heatherbrae nsw. The agent came out to measure up and left the information pack. Inside we noticed two brouchers exactly the same pictures and layout including picture on back of qld manufacturing plant but two different names. One brochure said ocean reef pools the other barrier reef pools. On research appears there is a name change. With ocean reef coming up with numerous complaints. When I questioned female at office about this she advised she had never heard of ocean reef but when I explained about two brouchers in our pack they gave she hung up. Very concerning for such a big purchase seems to be an industry not well monitored.

Barrier reef pool faded gelcoat 2 year old pool
I have found the same. Barrier reef don't want to know about the faded gel coat. Our pool is just shy of two years old. Before barrier reef will even look at the pool they want monthly reports of our pool balance.

nce a month and to safely store these reports should they be required further down the track. There are two main reasons that we state this in our warranty, 1 - for the new pool owner to understand and learn how water chemistry impacts your pool and to encourage the owner to get into the routine of checking their water quality regularly. (A small tip, look for pool shops that test the Langelier Index as this is the Australian Standard for testing pool water.) 2 - The second reason we request reports relates to your concern noted in your review of "faded gel coat". There is a possibility that gel coat will fade over a long period of time, but as you state your pool is only two years old it should still be in pristine condition. Possibilities that may have caused your gel coat to fade include High Chlorine Residue (can bleach the gelcoat colours), Calcium Hardness (which can be aggressive and erode pool equipment and gelcoat finishes), Copper and Iron (which make up 80-90% of all pool staining issues) among others. It is for these reasons that we state in the warranty that you regularly get your water tested. By obtaining these tests and recording them safely we can create a history of your pool water chemistry which can help us determine the issue you have with your pool as well as how to best rectify the problem. In saying this, if you don't have your water test results we are still able to get a visual test organised, although this is not as accurate as having the results. Should you wish to have someone to look at your pool and advise our thoughts please get in touch with Barrier Reef Pools Beaudesert on 07 5541 0944 and ask to speak to Shane. I hope you find this information helpful, Kind RegardsGood afternoon Shane, Thank you for your reply. I have left a couple of messages on your phone since I received this message 3/8//16. I haven't had any replies. I will try again tomorrow. Kind regards, Simone.

Warranty not worth the paper it's written on
We purchased this pool in 2007. Since then the Barrier Reef installer has gone out of business. Everything purchased with this pool has been replaced except for the shell and now it needs replacing too. From the very start the gel coat started to fade and produce a milky line around the water line. There is no gel coat left on the pool and the company blames the pool maintenance company for the wrong ph. The pool maintenance company refutes this and feels there is a problem with the gel coat. Either way the pool looks terrible. I would not recommend a Barrier Reef Pool to anyone. Their service is slow and they don't choose their agents/installers well.

quite harsh and unnecessary. Our records for your pool state that the majority of your water test results made notes for you to turn down your chlorinator as it was making too much chlorine, combined with high PH levels resulting in a high residue build up on your swimming pool walls. Referring to your comment "there is no gel coat left on the pool and the company blames the pool maintenance company" the gel coat is still in place however due to the chemical imbalance of your pool water the chemical residue has built up over the top of your gel coat. We would like to state that never once have we "blamed" the pool maintenance company for your pool. We would like to now address your comment "they don't choose their agents/installers well" and explain to you that all of our agents are fully licensed in Australia and the majority being members of the either Master Builders, HIA, or SPASA. It is unfortunate that the agent you dealt with has now left the company as we held him in very high regard and he also had a very accomplished reputation in the pool industry. You may find it of value to know that he left the company for personal reasons and not to go to another company. In saying all this, had your water tests results complied with Australian Standards then a full warranty would apply to your pool shell, but as they were not even close you can not expect Barrier Reef Pools to warrant a product that has not been cared for and has been abused through pool water quality maintenance. Kind RegardsAnswers from Roz @ Deeluxe Riverspa in response to Barrier Reef Pools Australia comments on our review.

with Barrier Reef and get the same answer, which is, it's the pool owners fault as the PH or the Chlorine has drifted beyond acceptable levels. I know with our pool it was and continues to be, tested every week so the levels were bought into line every week. Had we been told how imperative it was to keep within a certain margin at all times we would have to test the water every day. Just a warning to people who have new pools. If you have any trouble with the gel coat Barrier Reef Pools will blame you. Roz.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hey Bernard
Thanks for your reply, but I’m asking about the actual thickness of the fiberglass pool shell itself, I want to know if there is a difference in the shell thickness between the bottom or base of the pool compared with the kids play area and the spa or are they all the same and if they are not all the same I’d like to know what they all are. Because I think the average thickness is 4.2mm and I just wanted to know in the Brooklyn range which has a spa and a play area if it’s all the same or not and their measurements.
Thanks Marzenelz
