Typical Aldi product
These headphones are absolute rubbish. They take ages to charge (12 hours or more) and then will last no more than an hour before needing recharging, If you need to get up for a cuppa and turn them off, they can't be turned back on until they're returned to the charger, even if they were only used for10 minutes. What a joke!!. No stars.

The Aldi headphones are heaps better than Sony MDRNC8
I travelled with The Aldi Bauhn Head phones and a pair of Sony MDRNC8. The Aldi ones definitely work well whilst the Sony is only earmuffs- more comfortable but don't work.
The biggest problem with the Aldi headphones is that the LED light is far too bright and disturbs other travellers when the aircraft cabin lights are dimmed. Also a little Heavy and difficult to sleep with tem on.
I have found the cable supplied with the headphones has badly made plugs (poor machining) and often disconnects of crackles. I had to buy separate chord which now works well.
Of all the non grocery JUNK that Aldi sells these headphones are not Junk.

Great value. Excellent airplane noise canceling
I have used these on two flights now and the noise canceling function is really quite amazing for the price. I am more than satisfied and would highly recommend them for travellers who don't want to spend three times (or much more) the amount for branded earphones. They are probably a little more bulky than the expensive brands but they fold down adequately and have a nice carrying case. I am not a music connoisseur, all I want is to listen to music and watch films on flights without the engine hum. This product does indeed serve that purpose ...Read more
more than adequately. Moreover, given the price, I don't need to be paranoid about losing them or leaving them on the plane. ALDI, you've done a great job on this product ! I must admit, I was skeptical at first but having tested them in real flight conditions am a convert.

Best Bass-Blasters on the Market!
Seriously, For $30, I haven't heard anything like it! Being a fan of bass and the like, these bad-boys handled my 15db 63Hz Boost without skipping a beat, I actually prefer them over my Sennheisers. They are a little heavy, but as headphones go, they're just fine. They're a little tight, but I like this because they won't fall off like SOME headphones *cough* Dre *cough. They have a large expandable range to suit most heads, so that isn't an issue, however, if you have large ears, they may be uncomfortable for you. The noise cancelling is top-n...Read more
otch, even WITHOUT the batteries. Having the detachable cord is one of my favourite features of these headphones, as I always seem to have trouble with cords breaking, so being able t just buy another 3.5ml to 3.5ml cable and use it instead is just glorious! While yes, there are some reports of the headphones having a short lifespan, I can inform you that this is TRUE. I've had 2 pairs in a 1.5 years now, but I believe the issue with my first pair may have had something to do with me using them in heavy rain. Hey, for $30-$40, you can't go wrong. These headphones have, in my opinion, great sound quality, and yes, while there are probably better sounding headphones, they aren't under $50, are they? Seriously, if you like like BASS, BUY THESE HEADPHONES. The amount of bass these bad-boys pump out is PHENOMENAL, SERIOUSLY! I have gotten goosebumps lord knows how many times because of these headphones. If you want an astounding pair of bass-blasters that can melt faces, you cannot beat these, and for $30, who's complaining? They have a 1 year warranty so just take them back if they break, and the case is nice and sturdy too, which is nice for keeping them safe and sound.Similar opinion? Good sound, too small
It has amazing sound and bass but the size of the headphones are of a size that they are pressing against my earlobes, causing bruising. Unfortunately this makes them uncomfortable to wear.

Cheap and Effective
The noise cancelling works a charm and for $40 the sound quality is superb.
I now use these headphones instead of Earmuffs when operating machinery on the farm.
No troubles at all, worthy purchase.

You get what you pay.
It's good to get more or better than you pay for than the other way around. A bit too much bass. For older ears they are quite good. A bit daggy design, not for trend followers for sure.

Wouldn't Buy Them
Haha I have a pair of Sony MDR1R headphones and these Brauhn ones would be good for someone who just wants music and noise cancelling... But for someone who truly wants to enjoy their music I suggest you buy a good pair of high resolution headphones.

Great product
use it everyday at work, very happy with, for $40, you don't have to worry about leaving it at your desk, and it works as it should. used it once in a plane, noise cancellation is great. battery life is very good, using energizer highly recommends it.
waiting for the next sale to buy a couple more.
great value for money, excellent product. (i am an average user, was looking for a way to reduce ambient noice)

Broken after 3xs
Very disappointed, only used them three times and the jack snapped off at my amp. And, I can't find my receipt! Grrrrr, so I can't return it. Purchasing spare cord off eBay to fix it up. Hopefully the headphones will last another three times! I hope this isn't indicative of the quality of bauhn products, you won't get another purchase from me.
Poor quality

Fit for purpose - excellent value.
I purchased these specifically for air travel and they do a great job. I've had them for about 6 months. I wasn't looking for high end audio quality - just a device that cut down background noise so that I could listen to music or in-flight movies without having to ramp up the volume. The protective case is big enough for an MP3 player and spare batteries.
They do the job. They are great value for money. Store easily in protective case.

Good noice cancelling, not so good sound quality.
I brought these specificity for travelling on airplanes. I think they will do that job nicely. The sound quality is lots of bass but no mid to high frequencies, especially when the noise cancelling is turned off. Not too much hiss with the noise cancel on but maybe this is because there are no high frequencies. For the price they are adequate for my purposes. I can't say yet what the battery life is like yet.
Good noise cancelling. Cheap.
Muddy sound - no top end or mid range. plastic clip for battery looks weak.

Just Great
I purchased a pair of these headphones for the express purpose of use for travelling on planes etc, I could not believe how amazing the noise cancelling effect was, I could only head what i was playing thru my tablet and not one bit of external noise other than someone talking directly to me could be heard, fantastic, everything comes at a cost and for $39.99 from Aldi, what a bargain.
Amazing noise cancelling.
The ear pieces swivel but don't fold flat against the head piece, but I'm not complaining.

Aldi Noise Cancelling Headphones
Was unable to get any noise cancelling affect on any frequency what so ever, tried it on a bus, next to my motorbike, next to my sound system playing a lot of different music (especially base), next to my nephew who is very load and has a high pitched voice, just didn't work. There is a switch on the headphone where you can turn the noising cancelling affect on and off and chance its intensity, none has any effect on the background noise. As headphones the music it is all base, especially when the noise cancelling is turned on, missing a lot of...Read more
mid and high frequency in music. Maybe I just purchased a dud! I intend to take in back to Aldi tomorrow and get my money back. Very Cheap, Comfortable, Maybe ok if you like a lot of base Doesn't work as advertised, Batteries not include. Speaker not design for full spectrum of frequencys2 comments
I don't think you understand how noise cancelling headphones work, or what they're designed to achieve. The test cases you cite confirm that the headphones are working exactly as they're supposed to.
You need to understand what these are designed to do. They cannot cancel out sudden sounds. They are designed to cancel constant and mostly unvarying noise, such as aircraft engines. They do this b... Read more
y using microphones to pick up this outside noise, inverting its "phase" and mixing it with the sound you hear. The outside noise leaking in, is cancelled by the inverted sound from the external microphone, leaving you with (in theory) just the music or sound source you are listening to. But it takes a finite time (maybe half a second) to adjust the mix, which is why it hasn't time to cancel sudden loud sounds, like your nephew...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good value for only $39.95
I didn't want to spend $300+ on N.C. headphones, or risk spending hundreds of dollars on E-bay & get fakes. Thought i'd try the new Bauhn's first and get my money back if not happy. First impression was cheap plastic, & care must be taken not to break plastic battery hatch. They would look better with a matt finish instead of gloss. They came in a sturdy case with accessories for mp3, home stereo and airplane input. I wasn't expecting amazing sound, as the dynamic range is not stated on the box / or inside. The headphones fit right over the ear...Read more
s and are quite large. Padding is reasonable & quite comfortable. In passive mode and active mode in minimum position, sound quality is muffled and terrible. When you switch the active mode to full (takes 2 x AAA batteries) however, the noise cancelling was surprisingly good. Like most N.C. headphones they work best at blocking out low frequency background noise such as planes, car, trains, air conditioners, etc. You can still hear higher frequency sounds such as people talking, (just a bit quieter). Music sounds good when N.C. is turned to full, but don't expect the dynamic range to knock your socks off. When in full N.C. mode & NOT listening to music, there is no background hum, which is good. Noise cancelling of low frequency environmental noise was pleasing. So in summery, if you don't want to spend big dollars, and cancellation of low frequency background is the main priority, these headphones represent good value. If you want to get better noise cancellation and better sound quality, i'd go for the Bose QC 15 headphones....as long as you don't mind spending (literally) ten times the price. Inexpensive, good at cancelling low frequency background noise / rumble. 12 month warrenty. Cheap easily broken plastics, Unless "Noise Cancelling set to full.....Forget using them"Similar opinion? Questions & Answers
Hai D.asked
The headband is broken how can I got one for replacement?
1 answer
hi, Hai D.
my headphone band is also been breaking, but I've put some duct tape around it so it won't fall off. I recommend doing that or using glue, e.g. hot glue / super glue. if you've done those two things, then I recommend always carrying it in the case it has come with since not carrying it in the case could be a possible reason for damage.
Sheila M.asked
How do I tune them in to my hearing aids?

When are these coming back??? Best headphones ever!!! Had them for 3 yrs then my kids broke them. Duct taped together and still goin. I need a new pair!!!
