Cook Top Not Sealed - Design Problem
Liquid spilled on the cook top can run past the burner seat. Unpleasant pungent liquid odour can be dispersed by the fan to the front of the oven. Cleaning requires disassembly of the cook top by a technically proficient person.
Purchased in January 2021 for $400.00.

Dont buy the Belling upright gas cooker
Hi we purchased the 54cm freestanding gas/gas upright cooker about a year ago now. For the money we paid, it is the worst cooker i have ever used. It takes 3 hours to do a roast chicken or a casserole. Even a pizza took ages. I had the technician come and he said everything is fine. My partner is a gas fitter and plumber and a client of his recently got him to install the same cooker. She hates it too, same problem. Tech came out and said nothing is wrong, just heat it up for half an hour before cooking. She is old and doesn't want to waste gas...Read more
for half an hour. Took her 3 hours to cook a roast so she has demanded Harvey Norman take it back which they have and replaced it with another. I didn't push the issue and instead have bought a convection roaster to use. I dont use the oven at all now, only the top so what a total waste of dollars. Disappointed
Paid $1400 and was so excited. Took 4 hours to cook a roast, and the crackling was still soft???? Stovetop is fine, and it looks quite nice but even on the highest heat with fan force on, it doesn’t get hot enough. I am so upset as now I am stuck with it as can’t really afford a new one. I am going to try another roast and also a couple of cakes, but from what I’ve seen so far it’s just rubbish.

21st Birthday Food Ruined
We bought this model 2 weeks ago and had it installed by a certified gas installer the week before my daughters 21st birthday party. The plan was to use this new oven to heat all the food eg pies, pasties, dim sims, spring rolls etc for approx 60 guests so it was going to get a work out. Problem was it took 2 hours to heat anything to a satisfactory level and most of the food came out half warm and soggy. Even on 240 degrees with one try on the top shelf it was barely cooking. one way or the other at the companys expense. Quick update: Phoned Belling this morning and they advised a technician would call by tomorrow. Got a call from the technical support team who are sending someone on site early next week....so thanks to GlenDimplex for prompt service - can't argue with that. Please don’t buy this product.
The oven does not heat up enough. Tried to cook a pizza today.. two hours at 240 degrees and it’s still not cooked. Had to put it in the microwave. Tried cooking a cake a few days ago.. same again 240 degrees for an hour and it had raised slightly, then went in the bin. Might as well have put a match to my money.

knobs are absolute rubbish
cooktop ok - oven does not heat properly- knobs are a joke (very poor) and replacements are seriously overpriced for such an inferior part have had to purchased 2 sets already, also purchased LPG model for a company I was employed at same knob problem (company replaced them under warranty )and same oven heat problem

Split knobs
Choosing to pay a little more for what i thought was a better oven so wrong .... all the knobs have split and i now turn it off with pliers. I work away a lot so cooker seldom used i wish I'd bought the other which was much cheaper but i have bought before and never had any of these problems.

Natural gas is not available,this is the next best, can't believe we waited so long to get this stove,cooking is a breeze,so quick and the double oven is fantastic.easy to adjust the flame and the food is cooked quicker,the stove to is easy to wipe clean and the cut off mechanism when you lower the lid is wonderful

AGREE - WORST OVEN EVER!!
We've had this stove 2 years come this July and have not been happy with this since day 1. Everyone else has written exactly what we have experienced, slow to heat, doesn't keep the heat, takes FOREVER to cook a roast and don't even think about getting pork crackling or lovely crispy roast potatoes. know it's still under warranty - you should not be experiencing these problems, I will email Belling and get one of their reps to call you'. Well they called, but unfortunately hubby is not up on the whole cooking thing - he just knows how much I complain! He tried explaining to the woman who called - Gayle - and she said it all depends on the size of the roast as to how long it takes to cook! Hubby told her I was a very experienced cook and know exactly what I am doing. Anyway, he told her I would ring her when I had my next day off. In the meantime, I asked him to ring her again last week, just to let her know that I would get in touch with her the following Friday after Easter and she had 'no recollection' of the earlier phone call or the problems we were talking about. I am hopeful of a resolution. According to everyone else, these stoves are real duds and I just wish we had done our due diligence BEFORE buying instead of after! Surely Belling have got to be aware that there are a lot of unhappy people out there. I have already discouraged three of our acquaintances against buying one of the Belling gas stoves.1 comment

Worst service ever.
This unit cost $1,800 and like others thought we were buying above standard. While the cooktop is fine we have had nothing but problems with the main oven. you couldn't leave the stove for fear of it going out. Again many phone calls and again the wrong parts sent, twice this time, which we were charged freight for and have not been reimbursed. So the oven finally gets fixed over 3mths later and a week after that the oven is still going out. problems. The wrong parts were sent twice last time which you won't let them return and have still charged for the parts and the freight. We do not have a 'no returns' policy on spare parts issued in error and so I would very much like to speak with the agent in question to follow up on this issue. Obviously, without more details, I am not able to investigate further which, and it would appear that in this instance we need to do. It is of course your prerogative to escalate as you see fit, however, I would very much prefer to be able to resolve directly if possible. Worst stove I have ever cooked on.
Does not heat properly, takes forever to cook a roast, forget crackling on pork, it's never going to happen. I have a certificate of cooking and operated a catering business and must have cooked on 100 different stoves. This is clearly and by far the worst I have ever used. Had the technician out who assured be it was working fine.

Absolute Garbage - Shame BELLING and Glen Dimplex Australia
1 star only because the review requires the field to be used. We have this unit only in a L.P. version. Everything Kim and Chris have said has been our exact experience, right down to the attitude of Glen Dimplex Australia and their service agent Gas Care. (what a misleading name for them).

We grew up in Melbourne with natural gas and have been in Hobart 35 yrs using a Chef gas unit that was brilliant, didn't know the difference from Victorian natural gas cooking, when we thought we'd earned an upgrade we bought this on recommendation of Harvey Norman staff, it looks great in black, shame it won't boil water without a lid on the saucepan and the oven is as outlined. Breaking Knobs
I have had my Belling oven for just under 4 years now, and over the past 18 months have had the knobs becoming brittle and cracking off. Down to my last knob now, so contacted Belling about replacements... starting at $10.80 each + postage, so looking at upwards of $70! This is not through wear and tear or rough handling, the rest of my oven is in pristine condition. I would understand if this was a 10 year old oven, but not quite 4 years? g a larger Belling cooker. Don't bother people, save your money. If you do your research you will find a vast number of sites selling these knobs; they are in abundance. Guess the problem is not isolated, but extremely common. Terrible oven, worse service
Bought this for $1599 expecting a bit better than average. So below average. Cooktop and grill were fine. Oven is small, but we knew that BUT while it got to the set temperature it did not stay at temperature. So if the door was opened, say to add something or baste something, the temperature plummeted and would not go back up. Took 3 hours to cook a roast chicken! And nothing cripsed up in spite of fan forced. Pizza took 30 minutes (not frozen, fresh) and then was soggy. Even turning temperature up to maximum didn't help. Guess it was a lemon ...Read more

Yeah they’re hopeless, will never buy another belling product ever again....which is a shame for them since I am doing a full kitchen, bathroom and laundry renovation and will be buying all brand new appliances this year!
It's only 3 May 2022, so be patient and wait another week. In many cases, corporate accounting approvals for refunds can take 6 weeks. However, you should not give up pursuing your refund.
