Bellini Electric Jug BTK 615
This jug worked fine for so many functions of temperature selection however the lid became impossible to open in a very short time. It warped due to high temperature but still a temperature that it has to be set to. The lid finished up coming into 3 pieces with one piece still attached to the body of the jug.

DO NOT BUY! horrible horrible horrible
I brought this kettle with the matching toaster (that works BRILLANT might i add).
How ever, i have now replaced the Kettle twice, for the same reasons.
Leaking from the bottom, as you pour boiling water, & also leaking all over the base !
Highly dangerous.
Bellini Australia, can never be contacted, have tried numerously with no success.
Emailed, with no reply !
will go back to sunbeam products.

A good kettle. Does it really need those buttons though?
I was given this kettle for a christmas gift (as i desperately needed a new one) and i was glad it matched my toaster! It works fine. The buttons can be confusing.. working out which program and what not.. whats wrong with just flicking a switch like normal kettles?
The only trouble ive had is when i want to use it i have to switch the PowerPoint off and back on to get anything from it. Im guessing im supposed to switch it off after every time i boil it but im just not that efficient.
It does the job and thats the main thing!

For the short time it worked, it worked well.
I received this as a gift to replace one that had finally given up after many years of service.
It is a digital kettle and I was initially sceptical about needing to know the exact temperature of the water. I did find that the lowest pre-set temperature (40 degrees) was extremely useful when I wanted to wash a single pot and not waste all that water/gas to fill the sink.
Unfortunately Google suggests that other digital kettles supply only various high temperatures supposedly needed for various types of tea so I can’t replace this with a s...Read more
imilar functional model that heats just to a dish-washing “hot” temperature. However, after some 6 to 8 months use, the displayed temperature started to oscillate, swinging widely from (actual) cold to past 40 – and hence turn itself off. Switching to full boil and the supposed temperature would oscillate between cold (20-) to the 90’s. So basically, the reason for paying a premium failed after less than a year (and, as a gift, I can’t return it to Target under warranty).Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

A really great kettle at a great price
We bought this because it seemed to have all the features of much more expensive kettles. We've had it for about 6 months, and It has been surprisingly good. It has a range of temperatures, boils quickly, is reasonably quiet, beeps when ready, etc.
The only thing that is a bit tricky is the fact that the water level window is "under" the handle, so it is impossible to see how much water is in there when you are filling it from the tap. You have to turn off the tap, lift it up, check it and then add more water as necessary.

ing that some reviewers have mentioned is that you have to "re-set" the temperature you want each time you use it. This is true, but it is literally a matter of seconds. No biggie. Same with turning the power on; you have to hold down the power button for a few seconds to make the display light up if the power has been off. Again, this is a matter of seconds. I'm not saying this won't annoy some people, but really, it is a very minor issue. It seems that some other reviewers have complained about the noise, but we have not found it to be any noisier that our old kettle; in fact, it might be a bit quieter. The beep that you hear when the water has boiled is absolutely fine, and I think anyone complaining about it is really splitting hairs. For under $50, I think this is a real bargain.Similar opinion? Not as good as a billy
Does it boil water? Yes. Does it squeal a high pitched squeal at every other time? Also yes.
This kettle is also quite annoying to use, holding down the button for as long as it takes to force turn off your PC, every.single.boil.

No BPA
Very noisy and a cheap product. The lid is not BPA, so somehow you are poisoning your tea. And the function is really annoying, everytime you have to click at least 4 or five times on temperature to get the favorite one. I decided to return it back after a day.

Not as good as the old one.
I loved my old kettle because it was perfect, so when it began to play up I had to buy a new one. When I wasn't able to buy the same brand I had to look at others, but I did have some "must have" features in mind. It had to have variable temperatures coffee, tea, etc, and I setted on the Bellini BTK615. It only came in the silver colour, which I don't like becasue it marks so easily, it is slightly squat and takes up more space than the old one. However, the first really annoying thing I found is that the water indicator is behind the handl...Read more
e, pretty stupid I think as it isn't easy to see. Secondly, you can alter the temperatures but as it doesn't automatically reset when you lift it, the temperature has to be checked before use or the water might not get to the temperature you want. Then there is the thing about pressing the button a long time then again and it very slowly starts to boil. Lastly, the noise. It drowns out the TV. It's incredible. On the plus side, it does hold a lot of water, has a long cord and you can chose any temperature by degrees. Of course hubby disagrees with me and likes it.Similar opinion? Worst kettle EVER
Why can't I just push the button and get boiling water? NO I have to push a button down a long time till there is a click then push again to light up the dial. NO ONE who comes to my kitchen can work the kettle. I don't care what the exact temperature is, I just want to simply no fuss no frills ability to biol a kettle of water. Is that too much to ask for?

Agree with Kenny of Townsville....
We have had our Bellini kettle for longer than any other with heavy cup of tea use every single day.
We bought it when it first came out and paid nearly double what you can buy one for new now.
I would say 7 years ago. It is quite a long time. We are in our current home 3 years and easily had it 3 years more prior to that.
We LOVE the kettle and do not mind the loud three beeps when boiled because we home office and work at opposite ends of the house to the kitchen. Put on the kettle, go back to work, hear the beeps, make tea. Or, put on the...Read more

Excellent value for money.
Ordered it on Thursday and got it delivered by Auspost on Monday. It has a very stylish design and looks good in our kitchen. It works exactly as advertised and costs quite a bit less than other brands with similar features. The advanced features are a little less intuitive for new user especially one like me who do not like to read the manual. I encountered all the problems mentioned by many of the reviewers here and was also frustrated until I sat down and read the manual from cover to cover. My only concern now is the longevity of the product. Only time will tell.

Excellent features but has fatal material flaw
I have had 6 of these kettles over the past few years. They all fail in exactly the same way. A long crack or split will appear in the upper portion of the plastic water level meter on the inner side - extending from the tube hole. This can happen as early as within a few days of usage. The cause is wrong choice of material and expansion of the plastic due to water heating. There is nothing you can do to prevent it. Soon after the split appears, water will eventually leak out of the kettle through that split. My final fix is to remove the water...Read more
level meter, followed by metal brushing the kettle holes, then using solder flux and welder to seal the holes with copper disks. This means losing the water level feature, but results in a solid kettle that won't ever leak again. Naturally, it was necessary to remove all plastic parts from the metal chassis prior to doing the welding to avoid damaging plastic parts. Disassembly is quite easy to do - once you know how. The digital temperature feature is great. I also put bluetack weights on the lid to control the speed that the lid opens. This prevents hot water flicking. If Bellini were to use a better plastic for the water level meter, then I would give 5 stars. I'm giving 3 stars because the 'design' of the kettle is 5 stars - the design and features are truly excellent, but the fatal material flaw (cracking plastic of water level meter) leads to a significant deduction in rating. I believe that anyone that uses the Bellini BTK615 is destined for water-leak issues. But if you're prepared to throw out the water level meter and use welding techniques to seal the tube holes, then you'll at least have a great working kettle. Also, the reason why I ended up having 6 Bellini BTK615 kettles is because I initially didn't understand the nature of the splitting plastic, and I was compelled to try find ways of using silicone to resolve the problem. My silicone methods all failed in the end. Six kettles failing in the same way tells me that other people are bound to have the same thing occur. And those that report they have had no water leak issue are likely to have the leak issue now. The only permanent fix is to remove the plastic water-level meter and weld shut the tube holes.1 comment

i love this kettle. its great. so many people complain it turns its self off and you have to unplug it or switch power points ect to get the base to come back on. this is not the case if people actually read the manual that comes with the kettle they would clearly see that is says and i quote (Page 7 of user manual) " After boiling, it enters into standby mode. The pre set temperature remains at the default setting and the related program light flashes on the display unless you press the prog button to change it, unplug the power plug or turn t...Read more

I Like It!
May not be as swish as the expensive kettles but I find it value for money. I have no leaks as other buyers have experienced, not too noisy for me, takes same time to boil as my other kettle and looks good in the kitchen. If/when it turns itself off, please read the instructions, because it clearly tells you to hold down the on/off button for 3 seconds to turn it back on. The ability to boil water at different temperatures works well and is ideal especially if anyone in your household drinks green tea. I would prefer the water level indicator to be on the front rather than underneath the handle.

Not happy and wouldn't purchase another Bellini
Condensate leaks into the handle, then you end up have water dripping out all over the place, it should have been sold with a drip tray that could be attached to the unit!
Not happy and wouldn't purchase another Bellini product for the fears that I might get another Lemon

Not really happy with this.
I bought this product thinking it would be useful to be able to use different temperatures. Trouble is I have found it cumbersome to use and it takes a long time to boil. The varying temperatures are a waste of time.

Ear piercing beeps
I knew this kettle was loud because it was hurting my ears.... One day I was walking home and my wife boiled the kettle - I heard it beep from 3 houses away..........I've given this kettle away to charity now......too much pain to go through. The need to unplug the kettle every time you use it or it won't turn on is also extremely annoying. Had enough of this thing now.

Noisy kettle
Had a diff model Bellini, but wanted this one so bought it on special in March 2014. The other one broke after about 15 months, so got this one out sunday 2/11/14. It's noisy, bips every time you do something. After it has cooled it is very hard to restart. Even to the point of changing power points.
It will be returned to target for a refund.

For the price it seems to work well
If people read the manual they might find the kettle works as it is meant too, don't complain about a product if you have not bothered to read the instructions. The ability to set the temperature is useful and saves energy. It seems to do exactly what it was advertised to do.

My Kettle is leaking externally from the water guage, Is there an easy fix for this or is it time 2 replace? I have only had this for 18 months & am a little upset and annoyed that this is happening now. My warranty is now out of date.

You could try a silicone sealant but in my experience, these kettles are designed to die just after their warranty period and I’ve been through 2 of them.
Thanx Daniel, I think ur right just safer 2 cut my losses & buy a new 1. Bit annoying tho, u would think that they would last longer...this time I think I will 'make sure' that I get another brand!
