I don’t work for BISSELL. I just own one and love it. Mine gets a bit stuck too at times. It’s just a matter of getting it at the right angle to take it off and not forcing it. You’ll have to get in touch with BISSELL. I am just a customer who reviewed the cleaner.

Hi Lynne, I have found that I have to be careful when putting the clear cover back on. It’s easy to misalign it. I am worried the plastic clips will break when I give a pull to get the cover off again but so far so good. Sorry I can’t help.

Where online can I buy a spare roller to fit a 2588F crosswave cordless please?

Hey Chris, this was a huge issue for us also mate. The website (Aussie version), is extremely hard to navigate with confusing part numbers and compatibility info. Unfortunately, no help from support either.
The best part is, if you don’t purchase genuine parts (which aren’t readily available in Aus) you good your warranty. Go figure.

The rollers are available on their website here: https://www.bissellshop.com.au/products/crosswave-multi-surface-tangle-free-brush-roll Part number is #2519. Electrical retailers stock them, and are able to order them in for you upon request if out of stock. All Crosswave rollers fit any Crosswave machine - whether its original Crosswave, Crosswave Pet, or Crosswave Cordless. Hope this helps. If all else fails, they're only a phone call away or hit them up on social media.

Hi, I bought my cross wave a week ago.. they had none in stock so I bought the display model which had been used before for demonstrations.
Every time I use the cross wave, half way through a clean, the whole machine turns off.
Has this happened to anyone before? If so, could you tell me why please?

Hi Renee, the Crosswave has an automatic shutoff in the case of the brush roll being jammed, or the machine overheating due to a filter blockage. Can you check all of the air-paths around the brush roll and it's housing, and the dirt tank are clean and clear of debris? Check the filter also, as being a display unit it may not have been washed or cleaned thoroughly in some time. I'd suggest calling Bissell customer care on 1300 247 735

I have just bought a Crosswave Pet and absolutely love it after giving my floors a fantastic clean. What I need to know is that the instructions say to wash the parts and dry them, but the paper type filter doesn't dry very quickly and I need to know can I still use the machine when the filter is damp because I like to vacuum and wash my floors every couple of days? Also do I have to wait until the rollers are dry or can i use them when the are still damp? Appreciate your reply.

I would leave the filter out to dry as much as you can (I leave mine out in the sun) before using the machine again - just to make sure moisture doesn't go into the motor. Maybe think about purchasing a second filter so you can rotate? I only wash the actual filter once a month though, it's the mesh part on the filter I find needs cleaning most. The brush doesn't need to be dry before using, though I pop it in the little drying caddy after use anyway. Hope this helps!

Can you use this just as a vacuum on carpets or does it wash each time too? Looking to get one for mainly floorboarded house but don't want to have to get a separate vacuum just for the carpeted bedrooms.

If you have low pile carpets and area rugs, absolutely. On thicker carpets you may find the suction will stick to the floor and it will become harder to push. If so, consider grabbing yourself an 'Area Rug' brush from the Bissell website - that will make dry vacuuming (and washing) on thicker carpets a lot easier.

Can I use any hard floor cleaning solution in my Bissell Crosswave Pet machine ? because I can only get the Bissell formulas online

As far as I know you need to use the Crosswave formula. I managed to pick up 2 bottles from Godfreys (instore) for $20. The Bissell outlet store sell it (online) but I've found there are alot of places selling it so you may be able to pick some up for a cheaper price.

BingoBingo

Only use Bissell formulas as they're tested with that machine for best results. It will void your warranty should you use other cleaners unfortunately. The Bissell formulas are biodegradable and pH balanced, and contain no harsh metals, chemicals or ammonia. Formulas are available from all major electrical retailers (HN, GGs, Bing Lee, JB Home, Betta etc), from TVSN, and the Bissell website.

Our Crosswave switches from low to high a few seconds after using on tiles - never happened before? Book say to use low speed on hard floors.

Found the problem - dirty water container was full... up to the full mark but only halfway up the container so thought it was half full. Pays to fully read the instructions!! - apart from that does a great job.

Brad

The Crosswave only has one speed - the buttons only adjust the amount of fluid being released between hard floor or carpets. If the motor sound changes and the suction shuts off, it means the tank is full. I've found that if you're using too much of the Multisurface detergent it comes with sometimes it may give more foam than usual in the dirty tank which can trigger the tank full indication. Maybe try using less of the formula? And definitely don't use anything but the recommended formula. Give their customer care a call if you're running into issues I'd say :) Now of course I've written all this and have just read your answer above about it being solved haha

Is it necessary to take the foot housing apart to clean it as mentioned in one of the reviews? There is nothing about that mentioned in the instruction manual.

You can take the brush roll window off to access the brush roll if you like. I like to take the window off and wipe it with a cloth afterwards, and sit the brush roll in the drying rack attached to the supplied self-cleaning tray if I'm putting the unit away for a week. The brush roll window just clips back on the way you take it off (explained in the instructions). You certainly don't take apart the foot housing at all - every bit of cleaning out the Crosswave is easy and requires no tools.

Thanks Brad. I only asked because a previous reviewer said their warranty was voided because they had not taken apart the foot housing with an allen key and the instruction manual does stipulate to do this.

Brad
Brad

Hi Carolyn, there's no mention of an Allen key in the instruction booklet so I'm not sure what that would be about. No tools should be required for basic cleaning or maintenance of a vacuum. Warranty will not be voided if all instructions in the manual are followed.

Does it clean the grout lines or just the tiles?

Just tiles.. even then, it won't clean like stains or tiles with a rough surface.. it'll clean somewhat, but not as clean as if you were to "scrub" it..

NO it won't clean grout -because grout is always lower than the tile--the best way to clean grout is with a scrubbing brush.

BingoBingo
BingoBingo

The slower you move the machine the better the results you will see with textured/rough tiles. Grout gets discoloured from mainly from dirty mop water and other dirt being pushed into it. The machine only ever uses clean water and solution, and never puts dirt back on your floor. So I would have your grout cleaned, then use the Crosswave to maintain that grout colour.

When using the self-cleaning function, is the roller supposed to spin?? Mine doesn't. I actually had to dissemble it to wash it manually. Please advise.

5 answers

HI --yes it is supposed to !!--- it works the same as when using it on floors --the only difference it is in the "washing ' tray-- It needs to spin to clean its self--

BingoBingo

Once it's in the tray, the machine needs to be reclined as if you're going to use it. Otherwise the rollers won't activate.

I am interested in this product and just wondering if you can clean the carpet in a room, I know it says cleans area rugs but will it do a room of carpet Thanks Kaylene

5 answers

Yes it will --however depending on the size or the room as the unit is designed for rugs & mats---the unit gets very hot --so I only do half of the room & let it cool down then do the other half---I have been very impressed on how much dirt it picks up

Great thanks Wayne and I have also been told that I will need to check tankto see if they are full or I need to empty

BingoBingo

It's designed for hard floors and rugs, but it can be used on low-pile carpets. It's not a full size carpet cleaner though so if you want your carpets to be deep cleaned properly or to have stains removed you might want to look at their carpet cleaner, the Bissell ProHeat Revolution Pet :)

I have a hard time clearing the fur and hair that all my previous vacuum cleaners pick up, rolled firm into the roller. Despite using cutters etc, it takes me at least half an hour just to get them cleared. Is the Bissell roller REALLY easy to clean? No fur and hair wound up in it? just rinse?

1 answer
BingoBingo
BingoBingo

Use the cleaning tray supplied to remove any hair etc from the brush roll and roller housing after use. Pour in a bit of water into the tray to the indicated area, then set the machine into the tray and recline it as if you're going to use it, and turn on the machine and let it suck up the water from the tray. The brush roll is tangle free for pet hair up to 20cm long. The brush roll can also be removed easily if needed. There's also a hook in the handle to keep the cable out of the way while using it :)
