Extremely shocked how well this performs
So I have carpet, vinyl and tiles. I have been an avid Shark user for years now as I love them. Best vac I have ever used. Whilst online I saw a preview of another 2in1 on FB and that led me to the Bissell Crosswave Pet. I decided it could NOT work as well as it did in the web site video. Nothing ever does. So I went to youtube and watched many real life demos. Oh boy I was impressed. It DID seem to work just as well for an everyday person. Even on huge messes. I I also read dozens of reviews. I have a cat that sheds like he is going bald (he i...Read more
sn't), and a long haired husky. My floors get covered to the point I could fill pillows! This machine, if it works, would be awesome, but it needs to be able to remove the pet hair off the rugs. My dog likes to rub herself on the rug which pushes the fur in, and that makes it harder to get it all out. That was going to be the biggest test because even with my Shark vac, which has the roller brush, I need to go over it a couple of times. So I decided to try it out. I purchased the item and got an extended warranty also. So I tried it out the next day with some trepidation. I decided to solve the problem of not being able to get it under furniture. As I dusted the room i also dusted under and beside everything with an extended wand duster. I just pulled it all into the centre of the room. So the first place I tried it on was the vinyl. It sucked up every bit of dirt with ease. As it mopped the floor did looked clean. Then I decided to try the rug. This is a short pile. So I began to vacuum. As I did the crumbs and dog and cat fur literally disappeared. Even faster then with my Shark vacuum! That seemed to good to be true. But it actually was. I called my husband to looked. Even he was amazed at how incredibly well it handled the hair. The fact it also washed the surface of the rug as well was fantastic. It came up like new. It removed a couple of darkish stains my carpet shampooer didn't. Then I tried the tiles. Perfect. The reviews said it was hard to push on carpet. I found it very easy on the low pile. Reviews also said it doesn't work on longer pile. I decided to try it on a shag style rug. It worked! Yeh it was a bit harder to push until it got wet, but it came up great! Yes this machine DOES work exactly like it says. It is brilliant. I have only used it once so far and it took a bit longer than I expected. Shorter than a vac and a bucket mop however. But once I get fully into the swing of using it, it really will cut the floor cleaning time by closer to half. Oh and just to see how clean it got the vinyl in the kitchen, after the floor dried, I wiped it with a damp piece of paper towel. It came up spotless. Some people complain about the cleaning of the machine. I don't think they are used to having to clean out even their vacuum, so it seems annoying to them maybe. I have to clean all my Shark vacs often in the same way as the Bissell, so I did not find it a bother at all. Yes it is noisy but I wear earphones and listen to music so it does not bother me. It is actually Brilliant. I love itPurchased in August 2021 at The Good Guys for $449.00.

Love it on my timber floors
I have used Bissell products for many years. In particular, the power fresh steam mop. We recently moved into a new house with extensive timber flooring, tiled floors only in the bathrooms, toilets and laundry. I knew I would still use my steam mop for the tiled floors, but was hesitant about the timber floors. After much research, I decided to try the Bissell Crosswave Pet Professional, because I really liked the idea of only going over the floors once. Our old house had mostly carpet, so the only downfall to the new one was cleaning the floor...Read more
s twice. Now I don't have to. I am a very fussy cleaner. I don't have pets, but that doesn't bother me that this is meant for pet households. To me, it means it should be even better in a pet free household. I've been surprised at how good it is. For a start, the fact that you can send it back in 60 days is always a good sign in my books, no company wants hundreds of these coming back, so they must be pretty confident. Mine is NOT going back. It takes a little getting used to for the first couple of times, because it's a different way of cleaning. But, once you've got your routine happening, it's a breeze. I work from one end of the house, to the middle, then go to the other end, work back to the middle, by then, the first half is dry, so I can finish off, and sit down while the rest dries. The trick is, don't over spray the formula and drench the floor. The vacuum is really strong, so it's great at sucking up the excess liquid too, therefore helping the floor to dry. I love the straining filter too, so easy to get rid of the fluff etc. Our timber floor is so silky clean after, it's really noticeable, with a lovely sheen to it. When we first moved in, it was a little grotty, I've used the Bissell Crosswave Professional once a week over the last 4 weeks and it's come up beautiful. I love the cleaning tray that comes with it too. So simple to clean and spin the roller, then it all comes apart for simple cleaning, standing the roller up to dry. And, because it's cleaning, vacuuming and spinning it at the same time, it dries nice and fast, so it can all be packed away fairly quickly. I also like that the cleaning head comes apart for a quick clean, let it dry, then pack it all up for the next week. It's easy to see that by looking after it and keeping it clean, this will last for years. I gave 4 stars only because of one small downfall. It doesn't quite go to the very edges, there is a small piece at the sides where it doesn't wash. The vacuum IS strong enough to suck past the edges, but the floor doesn't quite get washed. Also, you can't get very far under furniture, because the head will tip up and lose contact with the floor. So, to remedy this, every few weeks I'll vacuum with my old vac and then wash the floors with my old Sabco mop and some eucalyptus and water in a spray bottle. Get to the very edges and right under the lounges etc. BUT... I WILL keep my Bissell because the timber floor does come up so nice, AND, it's half the time to do it. Hope this helps you

crosswave disappointment.
I have Tiles... wood click flooring and Vinyl Planks.
Very disappointed with product.
I did a lot of research before buying this.
The vacuum is very good but the wash part of it is not good enough.
roller needs cleaning a lot.
my Dog has short hair, it would prob be worse with long hair.
I find I am much better off using my vacuum cleaner then my steam cleaner it does a much better job.
the Crosswave is only good for a quick touch up.

Makes life easier
After using it almost daily basis I can easily say it really is a time saver. We have a 9months old puppy and she does make mess and it was a lot of work trying to keep 100m2+ of tiles clean. With this product, it is a matter of preparing the water/detergent mixture and mop away. Despite the recommendations from the manufacturer, I tried various cleaning detergents as the one supplied wasn't cleaning the tiles to my liking. Although it did leave a very nice smell. Some detergents worked well some left marks behind, some didn't smell good. My su...Read more

Does a good job, wish the container held more water though.
Works well on both the carpet for spot cleaning and the tiles. Easy to use, empty and refill. Just wish the tank was bigger, seem to need to refill very quickly.

Excellent!
I bought this vacuum mop 6 months ago and am so happy with it! I have hardwood floors throughout my house (including the bedrooms) and this does a great job of keeping them clean. I run it with the ‘wood floors’ solution and it does an excellent job - especially seeing as I have to keep them regularly clean with two little kids. You can imagine the mess! This works perfectly! The solution smells great.
I don’t have a pet, but it does a great job of cleaning up all the human hair and mess that we make.

Love it, works well as a vacuum and electric mop.
I had a Karcher FC5 prior and the Bissell is miles ahead in how it works and vacuums.
Use this on mainly hard floor / wooden floor boards and some rugs and it does the job very well. Saves having to vacuum first then mop. Only thing is it doesn't work/mop all the way to the edges (where wall meets floor).
The design and build is good although mainly plastic components.
There is a clip on the handle to hold the power cord up, which is useful when operating the device so you don't run over the cord, it also gives the bonus of a bit extra reach...Read more

This is a time saver and its easy enough for the kids to use
I use this on our polished timber floors and tiles wet areas. It is so quick and easy. It has replaced vacuuming and mopping. We have a border collie, live on a farm and have three kids.
Mae sure you empty the dirty water after using it or it will stink!

Unhappy with the product
I used the crosswave to clean my tiled floors.
The crosswave left my floor streaky and it was releasing dirty water as I used it.
I contacted Bissell in which they were unhelpful and only advice I was provided was "it shouldnt be doing that" They took my details and did not follow up on my issue.

Updated review. After using for 1 year I think this machine is good.
I bought this to clean new tiles in bathroom which have a slightly rough surface and new floor boards as a general mopper / scrubber machine.
If you are hoping it will be able to scrub grout in between tiles then do not buy this machine. While it's good as a general surface mop, it doesn't touch your floor closely enough to be capable of cleaning the gaps btween tiles. Even on new floors.
Verdict
I wouldn't go through the hassle of setting up and cleaning the machine again as a spill cleaner:
But... it's worth the (10 mins or so) time of setting up and cleanimg machine afterwards for a large area as a broader clean.

Love it!
Have had it for 9 months and I love the crosswave pet. It really does suck up all the hair (including my long hairs) and doesn’t get them caught around the brush at all! It leaves my polished porcelain tiles clean and mostly dry doing a much better job than every other mop I’ve tried. I pre-spray any dried on mess and dirt and the crosswave cleans it first go. Love the fact it has separate clean and dirty water tanks. Love the extra long power cord too. Only improvement would be a cordless version with a grout scrubbing attachment!!!

Literally The best ever product I have ever purchased
I can not live without my very efficient friend the ‘Bissel Crosswave Pet’
Saves time, energy and your back. Leaves my floors fresher and cleaner than any normal vacuuming and mopping will ever do. I’ve thrown out my old mop.
Very satisfying to see what dirt from your floors it actually collects in the filter.
I’ve used on floating floors, rugs and tiles..with amazing results each and every time.
I’ve even recommended to friends who have recently purchased it too. It’s that good. Easy to use and easy to clean afterwards. Love the fresh fragrance floor cleaner solution. Only minor improvement I would make would be a retractable power cord .

Does a good job ... but beware!
We bought our machine in October last year, and it does a good job of cleaning the tiles and rugs, I have to say that. But! The roller stopped spinning after only 6 or 7 uses, and so we had to go through warranty. Now please note that we followed all the instructions available in the documentation and online on how to clean it, which we did, usually several times during use.
However, Bissel voided our warranty because we did not take the foot housing apart (for which you need an Alan key!!) after every use, meaning that dirt accumulated the...Read more
re and burnt out the bearing. This cleaning requirement is not mentioned anywhere by the way, and you aren't normally mean't to take appliances apart either, so we thought we were cleaning it properly. Bissel did replace the machine for us, but we are now without warranty and we've gone back to the mop and bucket. Very disappointing!Purchased in October 2021.

Wish it worked as well as it showed on the videos
Been wanting to buy this for months.. finally bought it off BingLee. Didn't want to have to lug it home, so opted for delivery. Unpacking was easy, but was a little lost at how to work the 'rinsing dish' as the illustrations were a little vague (maybe my friend, another mom, and I were a little dumb). Finally realized how it was to be fitted. Anyway, it works. Vacuums and mops. The suction power is 5 stars! but the Cleaning power.. not that great.. perhaps my expectations were way higher, from all the videos I had been watching. I suppose it cl...Read more
eans up better for fresh mess, but really not much help for existing dirt stains. That is quite expected. However, I would say, my problem with it is the weight of the whole thing (with the water tumbler and all) was really no joke to push and pull along! The cord is another annoyance.. keeps running itself over the cord. It would help if they designed it such that the cable hangs from the top and not the bottom. It is especially a struggle when the equipment is heavy, and you're trying to push it along while battling with the cord. I might get better at this. The bottle of cleaner that came with it is only good for 2 washes. Buying a new big bottle might get me 4 washes. That is pretty pricey. Will look at updating the review again in a few weeks to see if I change my view of the product. It does carry a 120 day money back guarantee. I'm hoping not to have to return it, as that would be saying I made a bad decision buying it!Purchased in March 2021 at Bing Lee Online store for $379.00.

Wow I thought my carpets were clean ( I dont have any pets ) I vacuum my carpets and floors every week -I have lived in my home for over25 years --mostly tiled floors. But what a shock I got when I dry vacuumed with the Bissell -then also the shock I got after using just warm water to clean my rugs I was embarrassed on how dirty they were _- I would & have already recommended this cleaner to my friends & the people I work with.

Bissell vs kartcher. Hands down bissell wins.
Pros: you don’t have to pre-sweep the floor, cleaning system is easy to clean out after you use it, picks up everything but the dried on food
Cons: leaves an inch around the skirtingboards, solution is streaky (use the kartcher fluid instead)
AMAZING!!!!!

I don’t work for BISSELL. I just own one and love it. Mine gets a bit stuck too at times. It’s just a matter of getting it at the right angle to take it off and not forcing it. You’ll have to get in touch with BISSELL. I am just a customer who reviewed the cleaner.
Thank you Dodokebab.
Hi Lynne, I have found that I have to be careful when putting the clear cover back on. It’s easy to misalign it. I am worried the plastic clips will break when I give a pull to get the cover off again but so far so good. Sorry I can’t help.

Where online can I buy a spare roller to fit a 2588F crosswave cordless please?
2 answers
Hey Chris, this was a huge issue for us also mate. The website (Aussie version), is extremely hard to navigate with confusing part numbers and compatibility info. Unfortunately, no help from support either.
The best part is, if you don’t purchase genuine parts (which aren’t readily available in Aus) you good your warranty. Go figure.
The rollers are available on their website here: https://www.bissellshop.com.au/products/crosswave-multi-surface-tangle-free-brush-roll Part number is #2519. Electrical retailers stock them, and are able to order them in for you upon request if out of stock. All Crosswave rollers fit any Crosswave machine - whether its original Crosswave, Crosswave Pet, or Crosswave Cordless. Hope this helps. If all else fails, they're only a phone call away or hit them up on social media.
Reneeasked
Hi, I bought my cross wave a week ago.. they had none in stock so I bought the display model which had been used before for demonstrations.
Every time I use the cross wave, half way through a clean, the whole machine turns off.
Has this happened to anyone before? If so, could you tell me why please?
1 answer
Hi Renee, the Crosswave has an automatic shutoff in the case of the brush roll being jammed, or the machine overheating due to a filter blockage. Can you check all of the air-paths around the brush roll and it's housing, and the dirt tank are clean and clear of debris? Check the filter also, as being a display unit it may not have been washed or cleaned thoroughly in some time. I'd suggest calling Bissell customer care on 1300 247 735
