Best vacumn cleaner for the price
Picks up the long hair from my collies without winding around the roller and needing cleaning every use. Sucks up so much dirt everytime. The container for the dirt could be a bit larger as it sometimes needs emptying before I have finished and it can be tricky to get it apart and back together. For the price, it is brilliant.
Purchased in May 2021.

Didn't realise how dirty everything was
We have 2 indoor cats and one sheds badly. Have used numerous different brands. Tried this and my god. Could not believe how much fur it caught. Felt disgusted that we had lived in such filth for so long.
Purchased in August 2021.

Worst vacuum cleaner and company ever
We were after an upright vacuum and after reading positive reviews on this one, we purchased. 3 months later the noise changed and it started smelling like rubber. We took it to the shop of purchase where they said Bissell was fantastic and would sort out the problem. Instead they just said the filter was dirty (filters don't smell like burnt rubber) but we clean our filters weekly. So they did nothing. The vacuum doesn't even allow you to turn the brush off so you can't vacuum tiles with it at all, it just sends dirt flying everywhere. A cheap...Read more
vacuum cleaner from a department store works better then this sorry excuse for a vacuum. Terrible product and atrocious customer service. NEVER buy a Bissell vacuum. If I could give this ZERO stars I would.

no warranty
Careful they don't honour their warranty, they will tell you the filter is dirty even though its only from the current 20 minute use, Aust. Office run by a tyrant. Had Bissel products since the late 60's but there will never be another in this house. Plastics are brittle too

Excellent
We used to have a shark vac which i thought was great but this one picks up 10x the amount of pet hair. Such a great vac. Cant recommend it enough to others. The attachments are great for the couch and clothes. I have 3 very fluffy animals and it works very effectively.

Cleans well, poor physical design
I bought this vacuum to replace the one whose name starts with a "D". I'm happy with how it picks up pet hair and dust but the physical design of the machine is poor. The power cord is too low on the machine (it's low at the back) and when you pull back on the vacuum the cord gets caught underneath; not a good thing to happen and I have to constantly bend down to lift the cord out of the way, then hold it for the duration of cleaning. The foot controls are awkward compared to controls on the handle in other machines. The dust cylinder doesn...Read more
't hold a lot for it's overall size, (especially if you have a big house with a lot of floor space) and emptying is not an easy one touch as with a "D" machine. The overall construction is flimsy and the suction hose keeps popping out of the holder on the head of the unit; no matter how many times I push it in firmly and make sure there is no tension on the hose. Let's just say this is not the machine you would buy for your 80yo grandmother to use around the house as it does require a level of fitness to operate; unless of course granny works out. However, having said that, if one is prepared to put up with a bit of inconvenience in the operation of the machine, the price is right ($188) and it serves the purpose in picking up pet hair and dust effectively; if that's all one wants. The other cleaning tools with the machine are a bit gimmicky and I don't bother with them.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good suction
Very good suction and the heads work well to pick up all cat hair and other bits around the house. You need to be careful near edges of curtains, rugs or anything loose as the suction is pretty strong. Yes it is a little noisy (can still hear background sounds and talking) but with the power it packs, it makes the job so much quicker and the noise is over quicker too. It is on the heavy side, but very easy to maneuver when moving along any floor surface as well as use the wand to get those smaller areas, a bit more difficult if you have to lift...Read more
and move though. The cord is a good length, but requires manual wind up. It can do big or small ares very well. I picked this up on a sale at The Good Guys online. I have used various and numerous other vacuums with all kinds of brush heads and none do as good as this with picking up the cat hair. Yes I recommend this vacuum as it does exactly what it is designed for and more.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great product & very efficient
I love this vaccuum. Good suction & lots of nossels for different floors, nooks and crannies. I used this vacuum when cleaning the car, it did a great job & also sucked up the dog hair really well. Only negative is the weight of the unit. Almost a perfect vacuum.

Great vaccuum cleaner
Most of our house is carpet and this vaccuum cleaner makes cleaning the area very easy, it's easy to push and pull with a long cord. It gets a lot of dust and dirt out of the carpet, way more than our previous cleaner. It's also very easy to empty and clean and comes with useful attachments

Money well spent
My carpets now look brand new. Our old vaccy was getting tired after removing hair of 3 dogs, 2 cats and kids. It is easy to use, and the amount of dust and dirt it picked up was amazing. It is the best vaccuum that i hzve bought in years.

Blows pet hairs around rather than sucking them up.
I replaced my very old and very loved Dyson with this product. My Dyson had been going for 15 years (with 2 small repairs and services), but the hoses were finally perishing. I chose this product because it is specifically marketed for pet hair removal.
Good points- cheap, light weight and manoeuvrable.
Bad point- bought specifically to cope with dog hair, useless for this purpose. We have a mix of carpets and tiles. On carpets, it is moderately effective, on tiles it just blows the hairs everywhere rather than pick them up. Not much powe...Read more

A superb Carpet vacuum cleaner!
I received this product as a gift. It is a superb Carpet vacuum cleaner! I used Dyson before. This Bissell product has better performance than the Dyson one I current own. Its brushing and suction combination function works much effectively on both wooden floor and carpets. With its stronger suction, some corner area can be cleaned much esyer. Pets hair can be removed throughly from carpet.
Though it doesn't looks light but actually easy to operate and feel very light and easy to manoeuvre.

Better than product twice the price
We got this vacuum to replace a Dyson I had paid upwards of $500 for.Totally worth it!I thought my carpet was clean!I was amazed at how much dirt it sucked up in the first five minutes. The unit is nice and light and easy to maneuver.I have both hardwood and carpet and the adjustable hight is useful. The only downside is the tools fall off a bit and there is no brush to do around the kickboards etc.

No good at all on hard floors
Bought this vacuum today to try for our 2 cats that are shedding everywhere. Lifts hair on carpets, but not bigger things like crumbs, have to run over it a few times. absolutely crap on Hardfloors whch is no good for us because we have half and half in our house. Anything bigger than a 5cent piece, even a piece of popcorn, goes in, gets ripped to shreds and then spits straight back out again, making me have to keep going it over and over again until its lifted. Getting it replaced today with a traditional barrel vacuum. Never again.

Fantastic machine!
Super happy with this machine! Was looking for an upright due to a back injury and this machine makes vacuuming so much better. Easy to use and leaves floors in excellent condition. Used over a small area on carpet and lino. I would highly recommend the product to anyone, even those without pets.

Much better
I have carpet throughout the house and the Dyson I had paid a lot of money for was useless. I thought I would give this Bissel a go and I'm pleased to say it does a fantastic job. It picks up dirt and pet hair effortlessly and almost makes vacuuming a pleasure. I wouldn't recommend it for hard floors but for carpet it's great. I have used a cable tie to hold the power cord up out of the way but that's just a minor criticism

e a lot of carpet and a couple of dogs so we vacuum regularly and the Bissell is excellent. It not only picks up from on top but from within the carpet and it's easy to used. The only down side would be it won't go under furniture but I generally move things to vacuum anyway.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

My brush roll has snapped and I cannot find a replacement part for the 1521f model. Will rollers from other model numbers fit?
1 answer
When I bought my vacuum cleaner a spare brush roller was included (and I have not needed to use it yet). I bought my product on Ebay from Good Guys maybe you could check with The Good Guys or contact Bissell directly..good luck.
