Not Happy

published

Worked a couple of times and then would not suck up the water, spoke to customer care - they explained how to fix it - still did not work - sent to Bissell - returned back and worked a couple of times and then stopped sucking water again. Fedup. Have not used since. Bought a new Hoover.

Purchased in March 2021 at Godfreys Physical Stores for $349.00.

Does everything it should

published

Brought today. Did a fantastic job on my thick pile expensive carpet that hadn’t been cleaned in 5 years. The pile at the door way that was flat and sad now looks fantastic again. Easy to use on the microfibre couch, no amount of cleaning is making my couch look like new but it no longer has stains. The 3 inch rug in the lounge looks like new, had to go over it a number of times in different directions but so easy to do it was no effort. Easy to fill. Love the tank set up. My three dogs had left a lot of hair that apparently wasn’t coming out with vacuuming so I had to clean the hair out every half hour or so but it was super easy. Definitely recommend. Great price for such a versatile machine.

Cleans carpet ok enough

published

I use this to clean up our dog’s and/or children’s accidents and use it as a general small area carpet clean. It’s very easy and convenient to use. It cleans the carpet ok enough but I would like the extraction to be stronger and for it to be easier to clean out the powerbrush area. Lots of dog hair gets trapped in there and it’s impossible to get it all out which then over time affects the suction efficiency. I know the instructions say to vacuum the area first but you can’t vacuum an area that is freshly soiled with wee, poo or vomit.

The Best

published

Absolutely the most amazing machine, will deep clean anything chairs, car seats and pet stains to curtains. I have used mine to death and it still goes on and on. The customer service can be a bit lack lustre however I will always own a Bissell. A lady rented her house and she was concerned about the stained chairs, she purchased one as per my advice and she could not believe the machines ability to deep clean. If you have Children or pets get one you will never regret it. 5 Plus stars from me....

Biggest waste of money, used 3 times and now not working, not 12 months old not impressed cost $600

published

3 times when it worked to do large bedroom, easy to use when it works, cleans well when it works. Absolute waste of money stay away from this carpet cleaner. There is not much more I can add than do not purchase too expensive cost to clean 1 bedroom 3 times $200 each clean.

Great little machine

published

It's great to use in the car and the amount of dirt it pulled out of my grandmother's carpets freaked me out! One of the best investments I have ever made! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a multifunctional carpet cleaner. Owning this and the Hoover action pets made cleaning her carpets so much easier.

Good product

published

A good product that cleans well as long as you service it yearly. The hand tool is a godsend for couch cleaning and intense spot cleaning. It is difficult (impossible for me) to take apart to get rid of accumulated hair and dirt in the machine though.

Awful quality. Consistent breakdowns

published

Do not buy.

- In the year i've had this, its broken three times. First it was a hole in the bladder when it was 4 months old. I was told I would have to pay $60 for a new one including bucket thing as you cannot buy the bladders separately and the warranty doesn't cover these. Secondly, 3 months later, the belt broke on the pump, so I was without until the sent me a new belt for the pump ( I had to pay). Thirdly, roughly three months later again I've had the plastic nozzle SNAP and of course....not under warranty.

and to top it all off..it doesn't suck up all the water and to get it all of the carpets you have to go on your hands and knees and use the hand 10 cm hand tool, OVER THE ENTIRE HOUSE.

Carpet cleaning is therell, but it is still hard work

published

It cleans well, dirty and messy carpets are revived and freshened and so much dirt can be cleaned away. With regular use you can make sure your family is living in a clean house with a clean carpet. My only concern with this power-washer is cleaning the tank after it has sucked up all that dirty water. That was an issue for me. It was hard and messy to collect all the pet hair from the bristles and clean the container. But all in all saves time and effort from manual carpet cleaning methods, or hefty and pricey carpet leaning service.,

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT

published

I purchased my Bissell around 8 or 9 years ago. I have used it in the house approximately 4-6 times per year, I clean the cars 1 to 2 times per year and annually clean lounges and beds. My machine has never skipped a beat. I am impressed with the finished clean each and every time. After all this time and use I am only just ordering my first replacement little belt. I really didn't expect to still have this machine after all this time and if it every decided to retire itself, there is no way I would purchase anything other than another Bissell.

Broke after 2 months use

published

I don't know if the newer model is any better but mine stopped working after 2 months light use. When I returned it to Bissel I was told that as a result of it being "dirty" they wouldn't cover it under warranty. I did clean it to the best of my ability after each use but it appears that you ha to almost dismantle it to adequately clean it between uses. It's a carpet cleaner it's meant to be used for picking up dirt!! They wanted to charge me $186 for the service 1/4 of the cost of the machine!! Buy a cleaner that's more resistant to dirt, I don't have to dismantle my Dyson after using it!! I guess that Bissel is cheap but now I know why.

Impressed

published

I just returned to Bissel after a few years of using a Vax. I know remember why I bought my first ever Bissel machine....impressive results. I've recently cleaned my carpets with the vax and this Bissel pulled dirt out of them still. Only set back is a small tank,,however compensation is the power brush in this end of the market. Any want to buy a vax ? Lol

Good job 5 Star

published

Read the manual.. then use the machine ! I was moving the Bissell too quickly. Use their shampoo products as the results were fantastic. Stains from the humans and dogs lifted out of the carpet, and the colour of the carpet returned with just one use. The deodorizing worked and everything smelt fresh and clean. The carpet took only an hour to completley dry (22 C 50% humidity). I wish I had purchased this years ago. Highly recommend.

PowerWash PowerBrush Select

whats the best carpet cleaner that doesn't leave your carpets wet for long hours afterwards?

I have a bid sell power was deluxe it worked 2 times only. It's a piece of garbage. It hardly sucks and hardly any water sprays the carpet. I don't know if it can be fixed? I heard someone said it cost them $168 to fix theirs. It will be cheaper and if I hire one at the supermarket and it probably works better. I would never waste my money again.

Yep. And no guarantee that one wouldn't be in exactly the same position again in a few weeks. We just wore the loss and bought another from Godfreys.

Went on you tube they have videos on how to pull apart the machine. Other people have had same problem.Apparently the machine clogs up inside so you need to pull it all apart. Hopefully it will spray water and suck after my husband dismantles it. I'll leave it to him. It doesn't look easy. . You need the right screw drivers.

Will this machine clean loop pile carpets?

2 answers
Marshall
Marshall

If the carpet has very short pile then it doesn't matter whether the pile is looped or cut.

My problems were with a cut pile shag rug with the pile being around 2 to 2.5cm in length. The brush tended to catch in the long fibres, eventually breaking one of the two drive belts. As per my previous comments, the machine is not designed to have either drive belt replaced by the owner.

My guess is that the loop pile would be more likely to catch the brush than cut pile, so I wouldn't recommend the machine for anything more than about 1 cm length pile.

I agree with the previous comments - good on short pile carpet, rugs and on tile floors and we even used it to clean a second-hand lounge suite and a set of chairs. It is great for those jobs. Probably not worth the hassle of breaking drive belts with long carpet.
