Poor software
My dashcam is the DR750S-1CH, it was installed in October 2022. In general, it works quite well and the recordings appear quite good. The BlackVue viewer software is good but basic.
However, there are problems with the overall software. According to BlackVue (and also other dashcam manufacturers) “As part of the SD Card maintenance procedure, we recommend to format your SD card once every two weeks or once a month, depending on how intense you use the camera for recording”.
I have tried this many times but consistently get the error message “F...Read more
ailed to format micro sdcard. Please check your micro sdcard”. A Google search of this error message on BlackVue dashcams indicates that this appears to be a common problem with quite a large number of users complaining about this type of error since 2014. A number of users have complained that their sdcard has become”bricked” and cannot ever be used again. I have 2 BlackVue sd cards the original one (16gb) supplied with the camera and another BlackVue sd card (64gb). Both of these sd cards give the same error. I have tried to format these cards on different pcs with the BlackVue Viewer software and always get the same error message. I have also tried formatting the sd cards whilst they are in the dashcam itself by “pressing the Wi-Fi button for 5 seconds and once voice instructions start, release the button. Then press and hold again for 5 seconds”. Nothing happens and the video files are not cleared out. Judging by the overall number of complaints about this and that this has been accruing for many years then I really don’t think this dashcam is worthwhile and I would suggest you consider something else.
Purchased in October 2021.

in trying to format and use the 2 Blackvue sd cards that I have and will continue with the Samsung card for the moment. I am not familiar with all the technical aspects of sd cards etc but I will make a comment that FAT32 is pretty old now and in my car I have a usb drive with all my music on it. The car is happy to use a FAT32 drive but it also supports ExFat and NTFS file systems. I use NTFS for the music. I would think that with the capacities being used on the sd cards in your dashcams that you should be able to support these other file systems. Again that is just my opinion. Thanks again but at the moment, things are running better and I will leave things as they are.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Constantly cannot communicate with it with my iPhone X, my Ipad Pro is better, but still has lots of issues
Don't know have never been able to get into the settings, the wireless on this thing is useless, it was fitted to my car by the dealer who went through a subcontractor AutoOne, who are next to useless as well, I have to drive over 40 kays each time to get stuff sorted and then 5 minutes after I have left it starts doing the same stuff, not connecting, can't get live view or into settings
Purchased in August 2021 at Ford Dealers.

Happy but some questions..
Happy with my blackvue dash cam. Was setup professionally by an independent auto shop (not by blackvue). However this company did not seem to have the time to explain how my new blackvue set up works so I have muddled through it myself. I understand how it all works now, I think, and I am happy with cloud and WiFi connections and the concept of this. I am wondering if I can set up a 3rd WiFi option (for at work) If so, where can I find how to do this. Also, is the WiFi connection only approximately a 10 meter range?
Thank you

Good Camera overall. Features are good. Camera quality could be better
Had this for about a week and its been good so far. There are a few issues that bother me though.
1- The app does not us to manually delete of footage. Although you do not need to delete them as it writes over them, an option would be nice.
2- G sensor would record whenever i close my door even how lightly i close it and how low the sensitivity is. Should be a little smarter and perhaps only record it as an incident if the car doesn't move off in 5 mins?
3- the cloud connectivity sends me a notification on my phone (cloud connected or...Read more
cloud disconnected) eveytime it gets connected to the internet or when i drive into my compound. An option to turn that off would be great. I wouldn't want to be reminded that im home as im driving home. Other than that its a good overall camera and it seems reliable and well built. Price is a bit steep but i think if you're more focused on video quality, you can get other cameras with better quality with a fraction of the dr750s.1 comment

Not MMI friendly
Can't work with Audi MMI, as it interferes with the bluetooth when the iphone app is on. It plays back well on the iphone but takes up lot's of memory on your iphone. When the iphone app is on, you can receive calls on blue tooth but will not revert back to your radio station after the end of the call, otherwise, great little camera.

Much better than my older DR500GW
This camera with its new sensor is a step above the older models. As said the G sensor is a bit too sensitive but can be turned right down and if you turn audio warnings off you dont notice it. Also have seen it said that video can be better especially at night on 30 fps and you need a fairly fast SD card to use 60fps I use a very fast 128Gb Samsung or a Sandisk extreme Bought mine on a promotion from Autobarn Xmas weekend with the PMP for $300

use them in the DR400, DR450, DR500 (died) and now the DR750. On Dashcamtalk some have had trouble but as the Blackvue cards will be bought in it would be nice to know what they really are because Im sure Blackvue dont make them, they dont put ratings on them and they are also expensive compared what you can buy elsewhere if you are careful. Emmy Teeasked
Hi. I just had DR750 installed yesterday. I don't understand why the wifi connection drops out and doesn't connect again automatically when I return to the car. Is it normal to keep having to press reset on the camera so my device will connect? I'm using iOS 11 and my device recognises the camera as a wifi connection if I go into wifi settings on device, but fails to connect to unit unless I press reset button on the dashcam.

Hi Emmy, you may have the 'WiFi auto turn off' feature enabled, this will turn the WiFi off after 10 minutes of no activity.
Keep in mind, while you are connected via WiFi, you will not have any data/internet on your phone.
Thank you,
BlackVue Australia.
Hi I had the same problem I would have expected the WiFi connection from my phone to automatically connect two cameras in a car when I'm within range what I find is that in fact I have to manually connect every time I also find that the range of the cameras Wi-Fi is very limited unless you're standing right next to the car or inside the car the camera Wi-Fi range isn't far enough and it will drop out.
BlackVue Australia T.BlackVue
Hi Rusty,
If your phone is not automatically connecting to the BlackVue Wi-Fi, this usually means that:
The BlackVue Wi-Fi network is not configured for auto-connect/auto-join in your phone settings, you will have to double check on the Wi-Fi settings for this particular network on your mobile device. Another thing you will have to keep in mind is that if your phone is currently connected to a different Wi-Fi network currently, it will not automatically disconnect and re-connect to the camera, but will usually prioritise the what has the strongest signal in your saved networks.
The BlackVue camera Wi-Fi is only effective for up to 5~10 meters from the device, so it is not recommended to be much further than this when actively operating BlackVue Wi-Fi.
Please let us know if you would like us to clarify on any of the raised points or had any other inquiries about this, thank you!

I just installed the Gator in a brand new Audi A5. It stops the MMI interphase from the iphone to the Audi MMI. Is there a way that the camera can still work without WIFI?

I’m not a expert but I think you only need the wifi to view the records from the sdi card. The wifi I have on my blackvue is only there for me to view records and I can update the card from my phone. Hope this helps.

Hi Ross,
I wish we could help, but unfortunately we don't know anything about the Gator brand - only BlackVue :)
Maybe try posting your question in the Gator section?

SD Cards are classed as consumable components as they are flash memory with a limited life cycle on them. This is the same for all SD cards that are manufactured. However formatting the SD card is a good recommendation for any SD Card as it causes the card to clear its sectors which could potentially get cluttered and cause recording faults. With the error message you have received this will also occur when the SD card is being used by another program. Would it be possible to try and format it through a computer with all other windows closed? If the issue still persists please advise and will arrange to have replacement SD cards sorted under warranty. Best regards, Chaim BlackVue Australia 08 6267 5167
