Hi John,
Thank you for your enquiry. As long as your block is in the Perth metro area, we will be happy to show you what we can build on it. In terms of the cost, our designs start from less than $150k and go up to as much as you want to spend, but typically most of our clients would spend $180-200k on a really nice home, finished to a very high standard. If you would like to give Paul a call on 0422 967 303 at any time of the day or night, 7 days a week, he will be happy to help you.

Can you please advice how many years of structural warranty blueprint provided those who signed the contract before 2016. I guess it was 25 years structural warranty. I am looking for proof. After building completion this year 2016 april, they are saying 7 years warranty only provide. But i do remember Home group WA provide only 7 years. Redink transferable 25 years. suddenly blueprint changed the warranty terms. Would like to investigate and put forward the case to HIA and relevant authority .

Your sales ref already talked to your management. Answer was negative. I am happy to discuss directly with upper management and hope i dont have to go further to legal steps . your job reference no: 14451b

We understand that any defects usually noticeable with 12 months period ( settlement period), but 25 years warranty give us peace of mind, that's why we declined other builder who was giving us 7 years warranty offer during contract signing stage.

Moreover our third party inspection report ( jims building inspection) shows minor indication of long hair line cracks on slab (At this stage not a major issue, but easily noticeable ). that's another reason i need to get 25 years structural compliance warranty certs.

When we browsed during builder selection- Celebration homes, Redink, Blueprint were giving 25 years warranty whereas Home Group WA was 7 years (min warranty requirements from HIA) . Why Blueprint drop there quality assurance standards from 25 years to 7 years recently.

When i signed the contract, it was 25 years and thats what i expect to get to be covered.

BE AWARE
Blueprint provide 7 yrs structural warranty only recently whereas other few builder provide 25 yrs structural warranty, which will give peace of mind

Hi! I'm currently into the 10 days to fix the defects from pre-hand over inspection. Just wondering what my options are because they are already not confirming and dates for the next inspection or handover and I doubt they will have fixed them after 10 days. I have informed them I will not make final payment till the defects are fixed but what sort of penalties do they go into for not completing them in the ten days and can I charge them for every re-inspection it takes till it is done? Can I withhold final payment and do handover to move in then they fix the remaining defects?
Thank you in advance. The building contract is a joke, only mentions things the owner can be penalized for.

Hi Jos! In truth, I am not in a position to answer your question. My experience of building is somewhat limited - just the one house. I think if I was in your position I'd actually put a review down on this website of your experience so far and mention that there are things outstanding. This might make them more 'sensitive' to getting things fixed up for you if they know any progress is going to be documented in the public eye. My experience with Blueprint was that they were keen to resolve issues. Good luck with it. Windy

Hi all, has anyone built with Blueprint recently? There aren't many reviews on here for them and of those that there are, many are old.

Two questions...
1. Is it possible to put a clause in the contract to delay price increases if land titles are late? I know the building industry has slowed so surely they would be willing if it means guaranteed business?

2. How long did it take from signing the contract until the slab went down?

Hi Bec, we signed our initial contract in September 2013, but our land title was only settled in June 2014. Whatever the price that was signed in September 2013 was locked and not changed. Our Prestart Meeting was end of August 2014. Construction of slab commenced end of October 2014. We got our keys in June 2015. Hope that's answer your query.

One other question. They've told us we're getting a "management discount" from the salesperson and designer. Have you heard of this? Is it a genuine discount?

Hey Bud,

Be very careful before you finalize anything. the Sales person will give you a lot of false promises and Information. Make sure you document everything you discuss and make him sign it. Also there are a lot of things they wont tell you until pre start. You may have to pay a lot in extras depending on how much you willing to compromise.

Keep onto them especially with submission of plans to council. I even checked with the Council myself regarding date of submissions because that was the main delay in starting the build.

Hi Sam
Honestly I dealt with Clayton for the initial design
They do like to to sell,
But I found when I said I found another builder they weren't friendly at all.
A friend is building through blue print and paid deposit in January and still no schedule date for slab down.
I signed with collier and found it a better service and more go go to get the job done. Haven't paid deposit but getting schedule for slab over next 2 weeks. But everyone has a different experience with builders.

Mate we paid our deposit and signed our pre lim documents last August and still dont have a slab... bloody joke!

I have just began the process of looking for a builder, we put a small deposit on the land but the titles are not due to be released until Dec/Jan. I was not sure of whether I should choose my builder now or leave it for later. I need to organise my ore approval for finance by the end of October. Is it too early to do anything?

1 answer
Alane
Alane

No, it is not too early to confirm your builder, in fact you will save time over the long run because it takes a few months to sort out your building details. There are many choices to make with your building specification, so the earlier you start the discussions the better. And most importantly, you need to make sure you select the builder that is right for you, my recommendation is Blueprint.

Will someone guide me how are the Blueprint homes in Perth? I heard that they are quite slow and quality is the main issue.

Having been through the process with Blueprint, I can assure you that they are far from slow and most importantly quality is sound. Blueprint built the home in 20.5 weeks, astounding, especially compared to others.
I hired independent inspector to review build at various stages. The inspections were brilliant, in particular brickwork.
If your concerns relate to earlier reviews, these appear to relate to parts of the process out with Blueprint control (Shire approval, Finance, Water approvals, etc). The communications throughout the early part of the process was fantastic.
I have met umpteen people in my area who are building, none of whom are getting anywhere near the level of fantastic service I have had. Not only that, I am living in the property now, Blueprint have their money, but are still responding brilliantly to the odd query here or there.
Good luck with your decision, if you find anyone better good on you.

Be aware that Blueprint Homes get friends and others to post positive reviews after a negative one has been submitted. It is not hard to see that some reviews are posted by these people. Be careful if you decide to use this company. I had three years of problems and if you read other reviews I am one of many. Buyer Beware.

Kevin
Kevin

I completely agree with PhilMuffin after I watched his comment just few mins ago, I think we had the same terrible experience with Blueprints. I am still looking for some official way to complain this company and protect our consumers' rights. when I have time, I will get this sorted.
