Good Customer Service, Bit Pushy to Sell Michelin brand, Tyres not in Stock
Had to call and make an appointment, spoke to two different staff and both were pushy to sell Michelin sports tyres, My preferred brand tyres were not in stock, Appointment or walk in were not available. Two different staff advised me that wheel alignment require $75 extra, but in store it costed me $55, which is good, but the information provided is not consistent.

Read lot of review about Pirelli Dragon Sport tyres before getting the job done at Bob Jane T Mart for my Kia Cerato Sli car. This is would have been a 4 star now will only be 1 star if that. Don't give people a "free " vip tyre service unless the FREE part is explained. Never assume customers can read and understand the contract. I was told it was a free tyre rotation for 36 months on a 3 monthly basis. I NEVER asked for a wheel balance, and was not read out the form I was asked to sign...…..them assuming I could read the fine print. There are cheaper options out there...
Bob Jane i have found over the many years i have been there never offer great deals on tyres unless it's the one they need to get rid of..
They are very pushy when it comes to selling 4 tyres when you only want 2 of them..When money is a little short you sometimes decide to change the following 2 tyres a about a month or two later when you actually do have the money....They don't seem that interested in your personal circumstances.
Shop around and you will find stores selling the buy 4 get one for free offer and still end up much cheaper than Bob Jane...Quality tyres i might add like Bridgestone's ....not the hankook's that Bob Jane want you to buy

my first time at bob jane. I studied the tyres they offered on their website as I needed 2 tyres to pass rego. That was a waste of time because when I got to Hornsby they offered me jax tyres for a higher price - excuse was 'cant stock everything - jax made by bridgestone'. Waited for them to be fitted and they seemed to be telling most customers the same story as if they were selling only one brand. When I took the vehicle out it performed ok at 60 kph. it oversteered badly, particularly so when loaded at highway speeds - correcting the pressures made little difference. I have never experienced this on the bridgestone tyres that were removed. jax tyres appear to be dangerous.1 comment

Jtrax fabulous tyres
I’m really impressed with Bob Jane and the tyres. I’ve bought plenty of tyres over the last ten years from Bob Jane Nowra and I’ve never had a problem. Ever. The last set was a major surprise. Jtrax A/T. Buy three get one free. Hard to go past at the stunning price. Guess what? They are excellent tyres. Possibly the quietest tyres I’ve ever had. I can’t believe what a bargain they are. Even at full price they are a bargain. They grip well in every condition. I have no complaints. I don’t do the Rubicon trail on a daily basis but I do plenty off...Read more
road. They go pretty well in a slippery paddock, a dirt road and on tar. The vehicle is an old V6 Ford Courier Dual Cab 4wd. It goes like a dream now that it has new shoes. The tyres really are great! No regrets.1 comment

When I say no I mean NO!!
Was unaware of a product review for Bob Jane T Marts so would have posted this long ago.
Anyway called into this place back in 2014 and booked in my car to have all four tyres replaced and a wheel alignment. Salesman asked me if I wanted Nitrogen in the tyres and I told him no.
Took my car in at the allotted time and came back in the afternoon and all seemed in order. It was not until I was at home looking at the account that I noticed that I had been charged $28.00 to fill tyres with Nitrogen even after I had told them no. They lost me as a customer and I decided that I would tell anyone thinking of buying tyres not to go there.

I had to get my car tyres replaced and due to bad customer service and delayed towing service from Coles insurance could not reach the Granville centre before 5.30.
It was Jeremy who was kind enough to wait until 6.30 and offered the kind service. A big Thank you.

This issue is being resolved. Due to a misunderstanding and confusion, the situation seemed worse . After a conversation with the Franchisee, things were cleared and agreement has been made and will be resolved.

Bob Jane T-Mart tyre changing experience
I needed to change all four of the tyres for my car. I quoted three places and Bob wasn’t the cheapest but they manage to price match and gave me a good price. I wasn’t sure what brand to get so I consulted the staff there who are patient and helpful. I got Bridgestone tyres in the end, which is a little out of my budget, but because I got them during the sales period and they did a discount for the installment and alignment, I ended up with a pretty good price.

Edgecliff: fast, extra helpful, well priced
I dealt with two fellows at the Edgecliff store - both were great. They found the tyres I needed which are a bit unusual, collected them from elsewhere and delivered to my tyre fitter all on the same day, at a discount to a quote from elsewhere. Very happy!

Beware!
I took my car into Bob Jane T-Marts Perth and had all four mag wheels damaged by way of chips and scratches into the alloy finishes of the wheels. Bob Jane T-Marts failed to take responsibility or even offer an apology for the damage caused! Lucky for me I had before and after photos and had a win against them in court. Please beware of businesses like this that put profit over workmanship and customer service.

Outstanding - Mermaid Bch
Approximately 1 year ago whilst on a Road Trip in WA, we had to have new tyres fitted on our caravan and went to Bob Jane.
Unfortunately, at our recent caravan service at Gold Coast we were informed that these were not the correct tyres for our caravan and in fact would void any insurance had we had an accident.
We went to Bob Jane at Mermaid Bch and after explaining our situation to Ross the Manager the tyres were changed and his understanding and commitment to Customer Service was outstanding. We can only be grateful that he has such a high level knowledge of his products and is customer focus including rectifying issues.
Thank you so much Bob Jane we can now tow our van safely and confidently. Jim & Julie

Follow up customer service is bad
Hi, I bought 4 premium tyres from them based on their advice and did all the tyre services until now.After completing around 35 k, tyres are not roadworthy.It should run atleast 45 k. Had done these kms in 4 years. When I specify this issue, firstly the dealers blame the tyre company is bad . Then they told, I have not done all the services from bob Jane stores. I did all the tyre services from Toyota service centres. Also I did major wheel alignment from bob Jane only. When I contact the tyre company, they understood the problem and gave me discount vouchers. Bob Jane are not looking into my issue and they want to market for new tyres. Very bad customer service.Dont trust their words.

Avoid
We to Bob Jane on a Sunday to get a tyre puncher fixed. The tyre was expensive so asked about 4 new particular tyres was interested in. They talked me out of it and into buying another set of tyres I haven’t heard of before and also some demo black rims. Was not happy with the service after a couple of months realised I was happy with the purchase and was pushed into something else they just wanted to get rid off.
Also lost my rim caps of the original rims and called them to ask where they were and I never got a call back because they lost them, had to go back to the dealer and buy 3 of the 4 new caps cost me $210 which I never got back. Was such a waste of time and money!!

nable to me so I proceeded to choose the tires. I was shown several tires among which lay the pair that had a manufacturing date of 2022 which I chose and went ahead with the purchase. As my car was handed over to the mechanics I was told that I could not enter the workshop as per their policy which sounded a bit odd to me but I did not think much of it. Later on when my car was ready and I went to drive it off I realized why I was not allowed in the workshop all along. The tires that were put in my car were not the ones I was shown. The ones that were put in my car were manufactured in 2017 (and not 2022) so naturally I got concerned as the rubber is recommended to have a best before date of 5 years following its manufacture. I walked to the branch manager and told him about my concern. Hornsby store Fitted us in as an emergency. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great pricing.
I had a gutter incident in my daughters car [wont go into that] but i had knocked the alignment out the day before her driving test and the steering wheel was not sitting centre so put her off in reversing and cornering etc. I called early in the morning and they were happy to help out with an instant booking for wheel alignment and new tyre [as took big chunk out of the old]. They did not try to upsale me to anything more than i needed. The steering wheel is now in the correct position and new tyre fitted all whilst i waited and a competitive price. My daughter passed her test and is now happily driving. Thankyou so much guys. Would highly recommend.

Excellent friendly service. Very happy and will continue to use the Southport store.
I visited the store this morning for a wheel alignment. I had booked the car in a couple of days ago and everything at check in this morning proceeded smoothly.
The service was professional, efficient and friendly and the work was carried out in a timely manner.
My previous visit was when I had four tyres fitted, balanced and aligned. At that time I could not fault the service and the helpful and professional approach adopted by all staff.
I would happily recommend the Bob Jane Southport store to anyone seeking tyres or associated services.

Does Bob Jane have an official policy regarding the way wheel nuts must be tightened, or is this left to the discretion of each franchise or individual mechanics? In particular, are mechanics allowed to just use impact wrenches and estimate the required torque, or do they use torque limiting extensions (torque sticks), or do they do the final tightening by hand using a torque wrench?

I emailed [email protected] several days ago, but am still waiting on a reply. In the mean time I have done some more web searching, and I found one discussion on Whirlpool where someone mentioned that Bob Jane required the final tighten to be done with a torque wrench, with instant dismissal for anybody caught not complying. Unfortunately in the same thread someone else commented that if this were the case then that would mean the entire workshop staff would be gone at his local Bob Jane! See https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2757100#r57546014 for the thread. So maybe I need to know not only what the official policy is, but also whether or not the policy is actually followed!
I finally got a reply. Bob Jane does not have any official policy, but they do have an internal document that is used for training purposes. The reply didn't say what procedure they recommend in this document. So I still don't know either what procedure Bob Jane train their staff to use, or how widely their staff follow this procedure once they have completed their training, but I do at least know that a training document exists!
Since what really matters is what my local Bob Jane staff actually do my next step is probably to chase this up with my local franchise. Sorry to have wasted everyone's time here...

How old are the tyres you sell allowed to be?
We bought tyres in July 2022 they have now travelled 700km and we got knocked back on rego inspection today because they were manufactured in 2015 and the mechanic says they have cracks between the tread.

Manufacturers give a warranty of 5 years after manufacture date and we do not repair tyres over 8 years old. If you have recently bought the tyres as you said, please contact your local Bob Jane so we can inspect your tyres. If they are indeed faulty, we will make sure to get you back on the road safely and have the manufacturer pick up this tyre.

I need to lodge a case with VCAT to force Bob Jane T Marts to pay to fix damage that I alledge was done to my car by one of their stores and one of their regional managers when he attempted to remove over torqued wheel nuts.
It is a requirement to have an ASIC print out of the company name, trading name etc. I have asked Staff at the Bob Jane T Marts Port Melbourne office to provide these details but they refuse. saying that I need to go to a lawer to get this information.
This makes lodging a VCAT application very difficult as I have to pay a fee for every page of company information from ASIC as there are numerous Bob Jane business and I have no way of knowing which one is the actual employer of the person who made my car undrivable.
If someone knows this information or perhaps even Bob Jane T Marts staff could provide it?

I have sent emails to [email protected] numerous times asking for this information and these requests for information were ignored. I have called several times to follow up and typically get the level 1 phone support guy and he just hangs the phone up on me. One time I managed to get Alex Chung (he is some sort of manager) on the phone but he said that helping a person sue him was something he would not do and so refused to divludge information I was asking for.
It is a bit hard to navigate this situation as Alex Chung has offered a sum of money that is a lot less than what it costs to fix my car and has advised that I should take them to VCAT to allow VCAT to decide but the obfiscation of business identity makes loding a claim with VCAT impossible as they require me to have proof of what the business entity is.
Can you please provide your ABN, ACN and trading names for the Bob Jane businesses that I can lodge my complaint against.
Why didn't you just search the free ASIC website like I just did. ACN: 005 870 431 ABN: 52 005 870 431 NAME: Bob Jane Corporation Pty Ltd instead of doing a lot of complaining. No wonder they hung up on you.
