So far, very happy with it!!!
Installed now for about 6 months, 2 + visitors household, no hot water supply issues at all even with 4 in household at times. Power consumption about half compared to the old storage electric unit, now getting a rebate on solar power compared to about $200 quarterly bills. Not very noisy, can just hear fan outside en-suite with window open. A bit tricky to program, but once set, trouble free. Holiday feature works a treat.
Would recommend this as a quality unit performing to spec...

I am happy with it so far.
Got this as a cheap alternative to a battery. Run it mainly during solar hours, but early on I realised our night showers mean we need it to be allowed to run until about 11pm if necessary. This it's fine, but we don't run it later since it does produce a bit of noise, but not too much and have not tried the low noise function. Speaking of the functions, they are ok but the computer is really unintuitive. I mean really bad. I had to watch the video about 4 times to reproduce the steps an I'm an electrical engineer. In this day and age, surely it's cheaper to fit it with wifi and a web server than to install an LCD screen with obscure symbols on it!
Super cheap to run. If you have solar, definitely get a heat pump hot water cylinder.

Heap of JUNK
Bosch Compress 3000. Failed after only 3 years. Thats why you only get a 2 year warranty because it is expected to fail. A con if ever there was one. So much for German 'quality'.

Poor after sales service
I purchased the Bosch heat pump 3000 270 litre in 2015 when looking for an environmentally friendly solid option for my new home. The product has been efficient until early this year (less than 5 years). However it has been expensive to run. The after sales service has been poor. I phoned Bosch after installation the product to ask if the product required servicing and a few other general questions as I couldn't contact my plumber. The individual I spoke to was loud and rude and said he wouldn't talk to me because I wasn't a licensed installer,...Read more
which I found poor after spending 3000 on a Bosch product. So 4 years down the track Im told by a number of plumbers and service centers that they don't deal with Bosch anymore due to a) the difference in its system to other heat pumps and 2) Bosch are too hard to deal with. I have come home twice this year to cold water and have been advised by Bosch to contact a service agent. The service agent has suggested they replace they swap it over for another brand. All I want is for the product to work.Purchased in November 2021 for $3,000.00.

Bosch no longer bringing this unit into Australia
We discovered the Bosch Compress heat pump is no longer being brought into Australia when we had some issues recently.
Typical when the going gets tough the product line is dropped.

Very disappointed
Simply doesn’t work. Had probably three months of use before error codes started. Repaired twice and then got stuck on legionella function. Was told by plumber this was normal fast forward a few weeks we have enormous power bills way bigger than with our electric storage system. Still stuck legionella function but at least we have hot water. Finally sick of huge power bills reset to factory settings after wading through instructions myself because no one would help. Now water doesn’t heat above 37 degrees - not comfortable for a shower and we ...Read more
boil the kettle to wash dishes. This thing cost us $3000.00 and we haven’t had 12 months of hot water. Really regretting this s decision. Now told we may need filters installed for hard water. Disgusting that no one mentions this possible issue when taking your money and promising a great service. We have to keep going through Bosch. I finally spoke to someone at the company which installed the thing - URECO and got someone who seemed to listen. Was hopeful we might get a good outcome - not so hopeful after reading these reviews.Purchased in May 2021 at URECO for $3,000.00.

Four years old and its cactus
We bought this unit four years ago to replace another heat pump that had worked very well. We had some teething issues with it initially having error codes this went on for several months before Bosch sent someone out to purge the unit. Then it went ok for a couple of years and this past year has been playing up again. As it is now out of warranty, Bosch would not send anyone out or help us with the problems. I had thought that a company as big as BOSCH would stand behind their product but NO. They sent us a list of Bosh technicians but it was ...Read more
a short list and none of the technicians would service our area. I eventually got on to a plumber who was familiar with heat pumps although not the Bosch and he got us back on the road again with a new thermostat. A couple months later however and the heat pump is completely cactus!!! plumber had to bypass the heat pump and essentially make it into a normal electric water system just so we could get by a few days!!! My advice; If you are looking at a heat pump make sure it has good warranty, and that there are technicians in your area that will service the unit outside of the Warranty period. Extremely disappointed in BOSCH and would not recommendPurchased in January 2021 at Powerland for $2,500.00.

Hard water issues
Had one of these fitted to our brand new house it has continually come up with fault EO-9 ( which means purge system) after four weeks got in touch with Bosch I was told system needs purging after plumber came and purged it it failed again two days later rang Bosch they sent there plumber around and was told these facts
They have problems if you have hard water issues the plumber has told me it will cost me $2500 to install water a softening filters for this appliance to run correctly
My advice is to do your homework first on what your waters like before you purchase this model

Impressed and Happy
We chose this unit to put into our new house when it was completed 3 months ago. We have been very impressed with the unit and the savings to run it. We have it set up to run in the morning early when the solar panels are generating power. The noise is not really an issue. It is outside the laundry and it only runs for a short time anyway to heat the water. We have 3 bathrooms and have plenty of water to use more than one bathroom at a time. It only took my partner a short time to work out the programming of the unit and the plumbers seemed to be able to install it without any major issues.
Purchased in September 2021 at 1st Choice Hot water and Plumbing (online) for $2,800.00.

ed with the unit. When used in conjunction with solar panels and customised programming, it really helps to maximise the efficiency of this unit. If the noise does become an issue for you later on, our unit does have an option to utilise a noise reduction mode during set periods of time. While the programming of the unit can be a little tricky for those who are new to it (and hence why we recently created some self-help videos on our Youtube channel), we’re glad to hear you had no issues with it. Thank you again for sharing your review with us - we always appreciate hearing people’s experiences with our units and we hope you enjoy efficient hot water for many years to come.Similar opinion? So noisy
We bought a Bosch Compress 3000 DW and find it so noisy, we need to shut all the windows otherwise it wakes us up, thank goodness our neighbours are not in their house very often otherwise we would get a major complaint from them. Does anyone else have a very loud unit, is this usual for them, if so we will need to end up replacing it at a major cost because it is unbearable.

Low Cost to Run, Very Satisfied
The unit has been installed for a year. Long enough to be ready to review it. We chose this unit to remove our need for natural gas heated water. We have a 5kW solar panel system and I programmed the Bosch to run while the solar system is generating power, making it very cheap to run. Programming the setup had the plumber stumped, though the install was easy as we positioned it near where the old gas unit had been. A sit down with the manual and a thorough read-through and I had the system running as required. A couple of adjustments to the pro...Read more
gramming since hasn’t required the manual to achieve the result. The menus are a little obscure, though after a few tries using them it all comes together. The unit has run flawlessly since. It’s installed in the Upper Blue Mountains, where the daytime temperatures typically reach the low teens in winter. The water from the system is used mainly for at least 3 showers daily and cleaning the dishes the dishwasher doesn’t do and has run out of hot water once, because I’d set the program for too short a cycle to heat the water, therfore not the heater’s fault. It may struggle to supply enough hot water on demand for more than 4 people, unless the boost is set on the menus. Because the unit is a heat transfer unit (aka an air conditioner compressor) there is some noise, which I expect if it was installed near windows / outside doors, the sound could be noticed. We installed it where we only notice a low hum in the house near the unit. Would we install one again? Yes, if we moved house, or needed to replace this one with another if we stay where we are long enough for it to wear out. Overall, we’re very satisfied.Similar opinion? Bosch Hot Water Heat pump very good
The Bosch Hot Water Heat Pump we purchased from Specialized Heating and Cooling is very good and the savings off our home energy bills are amazing, if I was you I would replace your electric or gas units with a Bosch Heat Pump it’s ideal and works great all year around with the unit working down to -7 deg and a dB of 41db or program it to turn off and night and back on in the morning so 0 dB over night.

Works well with big savings on bills.
Had the system for a few months in a very cold location in hills east of Melbourne. Works well. Easy to install, big savings on power bills (about $3 a day) and no dramas with hot water running out. You can set the temperature of water easily so can have it as hot as you want (to within safety limits). Programming is easy, but to be honest unless you know what you are doing systems best to be left on standard settings imho.
The system is designed for a 3-4 person household. If you want more hot water you need a bigger system... and will need to pay for it.

Runs out of hot water

The plumber installed the system and it ran fine for 3 days, now it has stuck on Auto and only heats the water to 37o. I rang for help on the 1300 number on how to re set it and couldnt get any satisfaction. We are in the country and not close to a plumber.

Great system to use with PV Solar
Very happy with this system. We used the built in settings to only operate between 10 am and 3 pm and had our electrician wire us onto general supply. As we have solar this means we are not feeding back to the grid at 7c but heating hot water first. Family has 6 showers a day and we have not run out of hot water even a bath now and then on a Sunday afternoon. 43 units of power used in one calendar month (QLD summer) the heat pump transfer really makes use of that power. Once a week the system high heats on a legionaries setting, just have to remember on that night we need to add more cold water as what comes out is quite a bit hotter.

I have recently installed a Bosch 3000 heat pump hot water system. My issue is the LEG cycle. It seems to go on for over 14 hours. At one stage I had to turn my heater off and on again to reset the system back to Auto.
I run on solar power so having the LEG cycle work into the night is not desirable. I have set the LEG cycle to start at 0900 during the day. There was no draw down of water for the period ( I was checking to make sure this was not extending the LEG cycle)

Hi Phil. My unit eventually wouldnt even maintain a heat cycle despite many resets and time manipulations. I am in a remote area and the cost for a callout plus unknown repairs/parts was prohibitive. It had failed just outside the 2 year warranty. So I installed a Sanden unit. The Bosch went to the tip. Good riddance.
