Light not working
After using the self cleaning feature the oven light failed to come on. Replaced the globe, still not on. Called service and has been diagnosed as a faulty circuit board. All other function working OK. Quote to have the light working again $426.80. An excessive amount of money to have the light again in the oven.

Internal oven door glass cracked after self clean.
Buyers Beware: Ran the Self Cleaning Function today and 30 minutes Into the Cycle I heard a loud sound! Looked closely at the door panel and to my surprise the internal glass panel contained a crack stretching the width of the panel. An online search revealed that other buyers have also reported glass panels cracking.
I had no issues the first time I ran the self cleaning cycle. I followed the instruction manual on both occasions. The oven is just under 3 years old & as good as new.
Will report this incident to Bosch for a manufacturing defect.
Hope I wont have a battle on my hands trying to resolve this matter.
Will think twice about running the self cleaning function again!

Me too..Bulb glass cracked and bulb blown .from pyrolitic plus some
I too have had this happen. But thats not all....
I havent put up reviews before but after reading a response that the bulb glass cracking is uncommon.....
I am today checking reviews as I fill in my own resolution form to see how common MY issues are. Note I was not offered a resolution form when I complained a year ago about the door metal frame chip/splinters..
It seems the pyrolitic function has damaged oven doors as well as the glass bulb covers and the bulbs themselves.

cals were damaged from the pyrolitic cleaning . This happened during warranty but I hadnt put 2 and 2 together until the warranty had expired as having 2 units I didnt replace the bulb for a long long time and just used the other oven.. I have had 4 glass covers crack in less than 5 years.1 comment

Oven Light Failure that nearly caused a Fire
Great oven about 3.5 years old. Light bulb blew and the oven started smoking. Called Bosch, told me to unhelpfully contact one of their local service men (self service). Came and told me that the circuit board in back had blown and shorted (shows signs of burning). Bosch dont want to hear about it and said the light socket was hanging out and had been tampered with, light socket is in place but they won't come and look at it. Afraid to use the oven as it may catch on fire. The oven is worth around $2000. Pretty poor for a high end oven...Read more
to fail like this after 3.5 years and all because we went to change a blown light bulb. Also the light bulb cover cracked during pyrolitic clean. Have had bosch appliances in other houses and not a problem. Based on customer service and this defect they are joining the low end appliances. They have had I believe 500,000 dishwashers recalled due to a potential fire issue. I am moving to look at more reliable brands such as Miele or other higher end european. They won't even advise me if it is safe to use. Very poor customer service. Going to dept of consumer affairs tomorrow. Good oven, reliable temperative Nearly caught on fire and circuit board in rear severe burn out in the rear of the oven. Shorted after trying to replace a light bulb with the power isolated at the switchboard, when turned the power back on exploded. Bosch dont want to know about it.1 comment

Looks like I'm joining the list of those who've had problems with the light in this oven, possibly after using the cleaning function. I've had the oven 6 years and probably run the cleaning function (on medium setting) about four times. When the light stopped working I found that not only had the globe failed (as I expected) but the cover glass had cracked. I ordered a replacement light assembly (the full assembly was cheaper than buying the globe and glass separately) but replacing that still didn't fix the problem. Then called a repairer who pulled off the top cover and found - you guessed it - the control panel has blown. Back to the Online spares shop and I find the controller is "Not in Stock". Where does that leave me?

Hi Bosch!
I've just discovered a corroded screw sitting in my oven. It seems like the back plate screws have nothing to screw into. The back plate that covers the fan now hangs precariously.
We have owned the oven for about 2.5 years. When we first bought it the front went rusty within a few weeks. You guys sent us a metal sealing kit and cleaner which fixed the problem immediately. We've had no further issues up until now with this backplate rusting. Could you help us out? Not sure what we could be doing wrong. I've used the pyrolytic function maybe 5 or 6 times over the past 2 years.

Is there a flaw with this product?
Surely something is going wrong for this to be happening so many times.

No idea sorry, I just know it's happened to us. Disappointed to find though that 6 weeks after it's happened not a word from Bosch and no glass replacement.
I've not had this issue.
