Very happy with my oven
I did my research on what's the best oven in the market that has self cleaning features and this popped up.Informed the builder we wanted this model to be installed on our house and everything has worked perfectly with no problem ever since. The finish was beautiful, the double glazed door helped with our kid at home trying to touch the oven door while we're cooking something. The child lock feature was also very helpful. Tried the self cleaning cycle several times and it cleaned the oven with no hassle. You just have to wipe the dust with a cloth after the cycle finishes. Oven running for almost 3 years and so far very very happy with the product.

Glass panel cracked after self cleanning
The glass panel was cracked and light was out after we run a oven self cleaning function after two years a nd five months purchsed HBA63S451A. The self cleaning function is good, however the glass is too easy to break. Emailed Bosch, havent heard anything yet.Ticket No2016013193002225961.

Internal Movable Slats Are Dangerous, Stainless Quality Is Average.
There are many good things which I will detail but the few bad things make me not want this oven again.

Internal slats that move forward and back are dangerous! I opened my hot oven to place my cake inside and the tray got caught on the edge lip of slat and I got stuck with heat blaring out at me, one hand holding heavy tray of goods to go into oven and other hand trying to unlock the cake tray from the movable slat. Pyro Crack The Inside of Door
I LOVE the pyro as it cleans the oven well BUT after a few cleans, I found there were cracks on the inside of the oven door (metal at the edge by the glass).
The oven is just under 3 years old when this happened. (Bought it in June 2012. Found defect in April 2015).
I've called Kambo's Canningvale as that was where I bought it from.
She palmed me off to Lumley as I bought the extended warranty with it (another lesson learnt here: extended warranty is a waste of money).
Lumley suggested that I call Bosch as it seems they don't cover doors...Read more

nable between 8:30 & 9:30 (none of that whole day wait of between 8:00 & 17:00) He arrived at 8:30, did some spot cleaning & took a few photos for his report. Today, a week later I enquired about an update to his report & Bosch has replied that cost of all repairs will be borne by Bosch out of goodwill. So now I await for a repair date. Fingers cross this issue will be over soon & no more cracking (metal or glass)Waited for part that was on order for a few weeks & it has since been installed on 27/11/15. As usual the technician was prompt & all done within 30 mins. Have not done a pyro yet. It's time to bite the bullet & do it.

I havent put up reviews before but after reading a response that the bulb glass cracking is uncommon.....
I am today checking reviews as I fill in my own resolution form to see how common MY issues are. Note I was not offered a resolution form when I complained a year ago about the door metal frame chip/splinters..

Great Oven
After extensive research and comparisons bought this oven on quality and price. The manual doesn't tell you how to inset the oven racks so they don't hit the door when you close it. Our glass cracked on the 2nd or 3rd pyro clean and luckily it was replaced under warranty. Serviceman said it was one of the best ovens around and should last a good 20 years. Would advise new owners to pyro clean on max settings during warranty to test glass. Love this oven despite hiccups.

Glass door cracked again
That is the second time the we found the glass door to be cracked,whilst cleaning the glass door in preparation for self-cleaning we found the door glass to be cracked at the bottom, that crack is hard to see due to the shape of the glass. Now that oven is out of warranty by three months(4 months we spend overseas). Please consider that weak point if buying a Bosch wall oven,otherwise the product is working good.

excellent oven
Bought this oven as part of a package deal from the Good Guys. This oven heats up rapidly, and cooks everything to perfection. There are several functions as well as top and bottom element heating. The pyrolytic function cleans the oven without any scrubbing. Just a wipeout with a damp sponge. The slide out rails are really handy, specially when using heavy baking pans. The oven has a programmable timer and a child lock, and stays cool on the outside no matter how hot inside, due to having 4 glass panel layers in the door.
I thoroughly recomend it.

Self Cleaning Not Heating
We purchased the Oven and also a cooktop.
We have tried a few times to use the self cleaning function of the oven but the oven doesn't heat up to clean. It heats to cook but not on the clean function. Oven still in warranty so hoping Bosch honour the 12 months warranty and fix this problem. Otherwise this oven is good.

Don't expect this to last
The oven was out of warranty by 2 months and was rarely used (overseas for 4 months of the warranty period) when the electronic control unit failed completely. No help from Bosch- as expected- and now faced with half the cost of the oven again for repairs which might see it last for another 50 or so uses. Will be consigned to land fill and replaced with a brand that may go the distance.

HBA63S451A - Poor Quality Oven
8 months after purchasing the oven, the problems began. Oven wouldn't bake equally and temperature does not give accurate reading. Bosch attempted to fix the oven on 3 occasions, but the problems remain. Will not buy Bosch product again.

Disappointed in the quality. Door glass cracked
I've had the oven for 15 months. It's a self cleaning model, ie it runs at a very high temperature during self cleaning to clean the interior.
Today, 2 days before Christmas and with the entire family coming for Christmas dinner, I opened the door after running the self cleaning function overnight to find the glass on the door cracked from one side to the other. When is warranty not warranty when facia panel scratched straight out of the box
Purchased from Winnings a Bosch HBA63B550A stainless steel oven installed on 21st November along with a new cooktop. After installation we found a vertical scratch on the oven face. Contacted Winnings on the same day to advise of same. Winnings contacted Bosch regarding the replacement of the oven facia. Bosch contacted me regarding the damage. Sent them a an image of the scratch. 2nd December Bosch don't believe it is a warranty issue. Fabulous oven
I have had my oven now for just over 2 years, cannot fault the oven, BUT my oven light has just gone, have spent the past three hours trying to get replacement, and had to ORDER it on line, will be 5 - 10 days before I can pick up some 50 Klms away! Definatley not good.

Oven Light Failure that nearly caused a Fire
Great oven about 3.5 years old. Light bulb blew and the oven started smoking. Called Bosch, told me to unhelpfully contact one of their local service men (self service). Came and told me that the circuit board in back had blown and shorted (shows signs of burning). Bosch dont want to hear about it and said the light socket was hanging out and had been tampered with, light socket is in place but they won't come and look at it. Afraid to use the oven as it may catch on fire. The oven is worth around $2000. Pretty poor for a high end oven...Read more
to fail like this after 3.5 years and all because we went to change a blown light bulb. Also the light bulb cover cracked during pyrolitic clean. Have had bosch appliances in other houses and not a problem. Based on customer service and this defect they are joining the low end appliances. They have had I believe 500,000 dishwashers recalled due to a potential fire issue. I am moving to look at more reliable brands such as Miele or other higher end european. They won't even advise me if it is safe to use. Very poor customer service. Going to dept of consumer affairs tomorrow. Good oven, reliable temperative Nearly caught on fire and circuit board in rear severe burn out in the rear of the oven. Shorted after trying to replace a light bulb with the power isolated at the switchboard, when turned the power back on exploded. Bosch dont want to know about it.1 comment

Fantastic Oven...BUT
I purchased this oven just over 12 months ago, love it. Cooks everything beautifully. I ran the Pyrolytic function for the first time, followed the instructions in the manual, the internal glass door cracked. Two horizontal cracks across the complete width of the door and one crack in the left hand corner. To their credit, Bosch were very helpful when I rang their Customer Service department.
Cooks everything perfectly.
Pyrolytic fuction cracked the internal door.

Great oven - Oven rating 5 stars, Bosch service - 1 star, otherwise would've been a 5 star rating!
I purchased this oven in September, along with a bosch dishwasher and a bosch induction cooktop, this oven looks amazing, and is a brilliant all round oven, meat is tender, and cakes are moist, I went to do a pyrolitic clean and noticed that the accessory holders weren't in the box ( it states in the manual that they're an included accessory) - phoned bosch, was told they'd be $40 as I hadn't noticed in the first 14 days - poor service Bosch, we've spent nearly $6000 on your products in one transaction, but you can't keep your customer happy and send them a part that should've been included !!!!
Oven itself is fantastic! love it!!!!!!
poor customer service, expecting more money from customer for something that wasn't in the box !

Corrosion in the oven
I have had this oven for about four years. The glass panel has cracked and was replaced under warranty. Twelve months later I noticed that some corrosion remnants appeared in the oven but could not workout it's origin. Fifteen months later, the interior back panel fell off. The screws holding the back panel are made of different metal to the panel. High temperatures and water vapour have accelerated corrosion. Contacted Bosch...disinterested....contacted their servicemen....find a handyman to fix the problem and do not use the pyrolytic function!

I was a bit worried about the high temperatures but the cleaning feature works extremely well. I purchased the baking tray and it also has an option to self clean in the oven.
I use the oven daily and have cooked a range of dishes. All come out perfectly. Is easily the best oven I have ever used. Would recommend to all.
Self clean function. Telescopic rollers on oven racks make it so easy to put things in and out of oven. Overall a great oven!

Great to be able to clean but beware...the screws that hold the fan plate in place corrode within four years,so much so, that the back plate does not stay in place. Bpsch's response....at your own ex... Read more
pense call our preferred. Service technicians. Their advice, find a handyman to fix the problem and do not use the pyrolytic function Bosch were completely disinterested in realising that they had provided a sacrificial anode in the materials. Hi, I have just purchased this oven and am using it for the first time tonight After cleaning of course). I was wondering if you are meant to feel hot air coming from the top of the door? Is this normal? I have it in the hot air mode.
