SMS66MI02A (Stainless Steel), SPS60M08AU, SMS66JI01A, etc...29 questions from our users
Ross D.asked
Hi,
I bought a Bosch dishwasher (SMS66JIO1A) and I can only connect it to a hot water tap. I followed the instructions in the manual for changing the hot water settings, however, the "A00" factory setting value referred to in the manual never appeared. I was able to cycle through other settings (e.g., P01, r05), but not A00. Can you please advise me how to set the dishwasher so that it can accommodate hot water?
Regards, Ross

Hi Ross,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch SMS66JI01A.
That particular model does not have that functionality. You can still connect it to hot water but it might be a good idea to remove the larger pieces of food residue before putting them in for a wash.

On a Bosch dishwasher that does half loads do you put dishes top or bottom for half load
1 answer
The half load is for lightly soiled items and uses much less water compared to regular cycle. Use this option when washing small lightly soiled lids that fills half or less of capacity in both top and bottom racks.

Reviews and pics show the SPS60M08AU to be smaller (narrower) but dimensions shown on dimension row are same for all. You should tidy that up.....

What is the difference between a SMI66M I01A and a SMI66M S01A
I thought that S stood for stainless steel, but what does the second I stand for then?
(I know the first SMI means semi integrated). Sometimes there is an X in this digit position, I'd like to know what that means too. Thank you! Ange

Hi brisang11,
Thanks for the question regarding the Bosch dishwasher range.
The SMI66MI01A is not a valid model number. You can go to https://www.bosch-home.com.au/productlist/dishwashers/underbench-dishwashers/dishwasher-60-cm-wide and compare our current range for differences.

I cannot find the pre-wash rinse button on the series 6. Is there one?
3 answers
No idea sorry Noel.
Our washer failed too quickly to be able to identify that function.
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Noel,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch dishwasher.
The series 6 appliances do not have this option. You would need to have the Series 8 SMS88TI01A to have it included.

Wish I was told this when buying as I would not have chosen this model. I was under the impression all dishwashers had a rinse cycle. I would not have thought it was an added luxury rather that it was a necessity. Very disappointing.

The bottom bumper front panel keeps coming off every time I open the dishwasher door. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I had the dishwasher installed by a plumber.
3 answers
Does it fit perfectly when closed? My gutfeel is that it is sticking out a bit thus the bottom of the door is pushing it outwards. Mine is perfectly fine-installed it myself.
It does fit perfectly. Everytime I open it the door hits the rubber seal and the bumper falls forward. If I remove the rubber it stays perfectly in place so I may just have to go without the rubber strip at the top of the bumper.

sms66mi03a programming for hot water states to hold down the programme button which, looking at the diagram, is a combination of holding the glass wash and 60 min wash at the same time. Is this correct because I can't get it to work
6 answers
I havent tried doing a manual program.
I have hot and cold piped in and just use the auto functions.
No, I'm not talking about a wash program...
This is a for programming things like rinse aid levels to use and changing the default for hot or cold water..
it's not to change a wash program
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Madent,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch SMS66MI03A.
This process is to hold down the glass wash button and then press the start button until "d:0" is shown on the display. Releasing both buttons will cause the LED of the button to flash and the digital display to light up.
Press the glass wash button until A:00 shows. Press the button on the lower right of the display you can switch the hot water setting to A:01 then press the START button.

The dishwasher ran out of rinse aid. I topped it up and now I can't reset. The dial is stuck on 3:00, I am not sure what that means but I don't want a wash going to 3 hours. How do I reset the machine and start again? It's not playing ball!

Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Sassycoops,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch dishwasher.
We would recommend that the amount of rinse aid in the settings is set to the correct amount. And the sensor in the appliance might adjust the time of the cycle after it actually starts.

Hi,
How can I turn on the end of wash beep?
5 answers
Try this but modifying it for sound ON.
Many Bosch dishwashers emit a series of beeps to alert you after completing a cycle. Because the factory sets this volume to maximum, however, the incessant beeping can be annoying -- particularly if you start the dishwasher before receiving guests or retiring for the night. To regain your peace and quiet, you can choose to disable the tone or adjust the volume.
For Most Bosch Models
Make sure the unit is powered off before you begin the adjustment procedure.
Step 1
On the unit's control panel, there are three buttons under the "Cancel Reset" label: press and hold the right "Cancel Reset" button.
Step 2
Press and hold the "On/Off" button.
Step 3
Release both buttons after the light illuminating the "Cancel Reset" button turns on and the tone stops.
Step 4
Press the right "Cancel Reset" button repeatedly to raise or lower the volume. The end adjustment will turn the sound off.
Step 5
Press the "On/Off" button to save your setting.
Bosch Model SHE9ER55UC
The Bosch SHE9ER55UC unit has hidden controls, so open the door before changing the settings.
Step 1
Press the "On/Off" button.
Step 2
Press and hold the "Normal Wash" button, then press the "Start" button repeatedly until the control panel display shows "H:00."
Step 3
Release the buttons.
Step 4
Press the "Normal Wash" button repeatedly until the display shows "b:02."
Step 5
Press the "Glass Care" button repeatedly to increase or decrease the volume of the beep -- "b:03" is the loudest and "b:00" silences the tone altogether.
Step 6
Press the "Start" button to save your setting and then close the door.

Why is the quick 29 minute cycle defaulting to 54 minutes I'm unable to change back to 29 minutes ... Any thoughts? Otherwise a good machine ..... Andrew

Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch dishwasher.
If no rinse aid is present, the dishwasher will presume that a 3-in-1 tablet is being used (which contains a rinse aid component or ‘Powerball’). These tablets generally take slightly longer to dissolve completely. The dishwasher adds some extra time to ensure the tablet is fully dissolved to maintain optimum wash quality results.
If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744.

Thank you so if I add rinse aid to the container and set the machine to the r:00 it will revert back to 29 minute and not 59 minutes is that right?
regards .. Andrew
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Andrew,
The cycle will only be 29 minutes with the use of rinse aid, not just adding it to the machine and setting the appliance to not use it.
If this has been tried or you do try it and it doesn't work, can you please send us an email with your contact details and a photo of the control panel of the appliance to [email protected], quoting BSH6814 in the subject line and we’ll investigate for you.

Inside this dishwasher is the base plastic or stainless steel? When I had a look in the shops there seemed to be a mixture of both.
3 answers
Mine is stainless steel.
Thanks for the quick reply - helped me decide which model to buy. Some models are made in Germany and others are not so perhaps these are the ones with the plastic bases. Read somewhere that a knife dropped down and pierced the plastic base which then resulted in a leak so I'll avoid that risk.

I have just installed 2 Bosch SMS66MI02A in my new house. Does anyone know if you can have an alarm or beep when the cycle ends? Or even just ‘end’ or something on the screen to tell you it’s done? My screens are just turning off when they’re done.

HI Stacey, if by an alarm you mean, does it make a beeping sound when the wash program is over ?
The answer is yes .
Hi ccn, thanks for your answer. Yes a beeping sound would be sufficient. Mine do nothing, the screen just shuts off. Is there anything I need to do to setup the beep?

Hi, I am also asking whether this model sms66mw01a dishwasher can have hot water input fitted to the machine.
Our current dishwasher (not bosch) is older and takes hot water supply, this works well for us as we have alternate energy supply for our household hot water heating.
Thankyou in advance.
4 answers
It only has one input tap. But the dishwasher heats the water so you only need cold.
Thanks Mumwithkids,
To clarify I am wanting to put hot water supply into the one input line.
Thanks
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi springfarmer, Thanks for your question, The dishwasher can be connected to cold or hot water up to max. 60°C. Connection to hot water is recommended if the hot water can be supplied by energetically favorable means and from a suitable installation, e.g. solar heating system with circulation line. This will save energy and time. The hot water setting allows you to adjust your appliance optimally to operation with hot water. It is recommended to have a water temperature (temperature of the incoming water) of at least 40 °C and no more than 60 °C. It is not recommended to connect the appliance to hot water if the water is supplied from an electric boiler. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744.

I have only hot water connection for the dishwasher. I was looking for a dishwasher that could be connected to the hot water. I bought the BOSH SMS66MI02A dishwasher after reading the manual downloaded from BOSH Australian website. The manual says under technical specification that water temperature Hot water maximum temperature 60 Centigrade.
Before connecting the dishwasher I read the manual in detail. Then I found out that manual also says under Warm water connection that it is not recommended to connect the appliance to hot water if the water is supplied from an electric boiler. I am confused. Could some one from BOSH clarify these instructions please.

Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Colvin,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch SMS66MI02A.
This appliance can definitely handle temperature up to 60 degrees. The reference to an electric boiler is to ensure the water temperature is kept at the required level. If the boiler you have does not guarantee the temperature to not exceed 60 degrees then if the temperature goes too high there may be problems in relation to results or damage to the appliance. Please check the details of your boiler before using your appliance.
