Works well and very quiet
Very sturdy and heavy machine.
1.5 years of use now. Will update if any issues in future.
Spin cycles are very quiet, which I am happy about.
The automatic detergent and softer dosage system works quite well. It will remember the dosage setting on each wash program, which makes it easy.
So I use
- Auto-soft setting for sports clothes on light detergent and no softener.
- Auto setting for general mix of washing
- Cottons setting for cottons with medium detergent and softener...Read more

Excellent wash results, poor warranty service
We bought this washer on 16 January 2020 to replace a older Fisher and Paykel top loader that had developed a leak. We selected this model Bosch as it had a broad range of automatic stain removal settings (which my wife loved in our Fisher and Paykel and wanted again) and the Bosch brand got excellent customer reviews.
On the good side we are getting really fantastic wash results with clothes noticeably cleaner and brighter, its impressively capable as a washing machine. One the not so good side - the machine is complex to use if you want to...Read more
access some of the options and the manual is often less than helpful (for example the delayed start is easy to accidently engage, is not mentioned anywhere in the manual, and it took lots of googling to find out how to turn off). Or the towel setting by default spins at 1400 RPM leaving the towels quite hard and spiky - it tool lots of googling to find that we needed a lower spin speed for towels of 800 RPM, and now we have fluffy towels again. The major concern my wife and I have (and I have put this on the Bosch site as well) is that really Bosch's warranty service is unacceptably slow. We called about a fault on 10 February and the earliest they could send a technician was 24 February. We escalated to Appliances online who said they would contact Bosch and get back to us, this didn't happen either (also very disappointing). So we took matters into our own hand to get it fixed independently, rather than be without a washing machine for 2 weeks. My wife and I were both shocked - for a new appliance you should not have to wait 2 weeks for a service call, especially something used every day like a washing machine. So we have gone from being happy to recommend Bosch washers to friends to saying "they are good machines, but be prepared to get it fixed yourself if there is an issue under warranty.". Not what you would expect from what is supposed to be a leading brand.
Purchased in January 2021 at Appliances Online for $1,649.00.

Excellent Machine! Very impressive.
Bosch replaced my Series 8 Front Loading Machine (Model: WAW32640AU) with a brand new Bosch HomeProfessional WAY32891AU under warranty. Absolutely great to deal with on a warranty level.
This new unit is fantastic, the clothes come out amazingly clean much the same as the WAW32640AU. The i-DOS does a great job of keeping my detergent costs reasonable while still making sure the clothes are clean. It's extremely quiet, even on a 1600rpm spin.

Not as good as I expected
Yes it washes and does a lot of other functions, however there are some issues for the washing machine that I wouldn't expect. Mold grows on the front rubber seal as water collects there; the capacity is small for what you pay for; the washing time is very long; I do not get a notification when the detergent dosage is low. It was expensive for what I thought was an excellent product, which I believe is over priced.Lately, I have been only using Bosch home products, however for my next product, I will look at some other brand.

So quiet
We have recently replaced our older Bosch front loader washing machine with the new and improved model. The new machine cleans as well as the older model. Our old machine used to beep loudly when it was finished and continued periodically until you attended to the machine. The new machine now has a much softer sound and not as shrill. The wash cycles also seem to be a lot quieter than previously as I had to check it was still going. The new machine clearly states the cycle it is on and how long is left. Overall I am still enjoying the Bosch models. The customer care I have received from Bosch previously has been outstanding. I have owned Bosch for a few years now and really like their products.

Faulty
Bought this at Harvey’s 3 years ago, was told it was top of the range so paid good money for it. It seemed to operate well until clothes started coming out smelly. Even in a well ventilated laundry with drawer left open and door rubber wiped dry each time, mound formed on the dispenser drawer and inner case. Lots of calls and inspections followed. Eventually these and the water shutoff valve were replaced as mould kept returning. 8 months later dispenser is emptying onto floor and mould has returned. Either a manufacturing fault or design defect and to date this has caused unending problems. I’m not alone with problems with Bosch washing machines which are giving the brand a bad reputation.

Perfect - Could not be happier with my Bosch front loader
Extremely happy so far with my Bosch front loader. Every washing feature you need with ability to select speed wash option or eco wash option for most wash cycles and select stain removal feature. Find it a bit odd always having to turn the machine on BEFORE loading but like that it weighs the load. Being on our own tank water I love the 8.5kg eco wash load - superb wash using very little water/power. The matching heat pump dryer is turned on after loading so takes a bit of getting used to doing. Find the light in the drum just wonderful to making sure you grab out every item and the drum wash cycle reminder.

Best washing experience of my life
I received this washing machine as a replacement of my previous Bosch, which had some minor problems. It washes everything perfectly - even towels! (once I found the specialised towel setting). It is quiet, water saving (people can get in the shower at the same time while it is on without any problems). Clothes come out without lint, fluff, even renegade tissues seem to be less of a problem when accidentally thrown in with clothes (still a first world problem though). I will only buy Bosch appliances for my house from now on. I have one of thei...Read more
r dishwashers (equally brilliant). BUT the best thing about Bosch is their customer service. They are always understanding and stand by their products. You will pay more for them, but it will be well worth it. I only buy the German-made Bosch, as I find they seem to be higher quality again. Bosch is the only company that I've dealt with where I've been happy with the outcome of a complaint.1 comment

Bad design – the rinse result is not acceptable.
We bought Bosch WAY32540AU about 2 years ago and initially we felt the washed clothes were not soft compare to our previous front load washing machine ;eventually we realized it didn’t rinse properly and the detergent left inside of clothes. We reduced to the usage of detergent and add 3 extra rinses to improve a bit but still were not satisfied by the rinse result.
By the further investigation, we had found previous washing machine gave a spin between each rinse but Bosch WAY32540AU just drained the rinsed water without spin and the foam ...Read more
of detergent sill left inside of the machine – we found it by the last rinse water from drainage pipe. It’s definitely a bad design and you had to be really careful of detergent usage and adding more rinse time, generally speaking, it wastes water, energy and time whatever the machine claims I am not sure how to fix this design problem, upgrade the firmware of the machine? who knows! Even the result is not acceptable but the machine runs smoothly and quietly, so 2 stars.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bosch Washing machine WAY32840
This machine was good until E23 came up on it. Thought I was buying a top brand washing machine with good after care customer service. Purchased 2/15 took out 4 year extended warranty. Machine came up with E23. Called Bosch told me to phone to customer care centre waited over a week for a service person to look at machine, it is now 10 days and haven't heard back. NO family washing machine for 3 weeks now. I will certainly reconsider other brands before I buy Bosch products again if this is what extended warranty service is like

Disappointed.
This is a very quiet machine which is possibly the only good thing about it.
Unfortunately I noticed straight away that many items came out of the wash ripped with 1200rpm. The washing quality is okay and I like the extra rinse option (up to times 3) that you can set. However I can't really use any spin speed higher than 800rpm (which is okay I guess and maybe 1000rpm for thicker items such as towels) if I don't want to end up ripping everything. And it makes me fearful of washing anything in this machine.
This NEVER happened in my old mach...Read more

This machine was our first venture into Top Loaders, at over $2000 with the Bosch name,
we thought surely this would save us electricity help the environment and give us clean clothes.
What a mistake .. the "Home Commercial" made in Germany is the worlds biggest disappointment!
It started out after 9mths intermittently stopping part way through a wash, no error symbol no reason at all.

Rubber seal issue after only a few years of purchase
I expected a good quality washing machine from Bosch - unfortunately this has been a disappointing experience as only after a few years a small piece of the rubber seal chipped off which resulted in leakage. I now had the seal replaced (costing me over $300) but would not look for another Bosch appliance or recommend it after this experience even though we have a number of Bosch appliances at home. The technician suggested that the reason would be clothes caught up in the seal - this is not the case as I never had that happen. I see other reviews with the same issue which would indicate some quality issue with the seal. Sadly disappointed with Bosch.
Do not recall the month of purchase but it was some time in 2014.

Poor design
The design is not fit for the purpose as it allows continual blocking using. Liquid detergent & its difficult to continually clean. The passage are too restrictive for clear flow. The positioning of the electronics makes this operation of cleaning very sensitive it has obviously been designed off the. Computor without practical experience input by a practical engineer

Great for dirty work clothes and delicates
We've had this machine for nearly two years and it hasn't skipped a beat washing everything from mud laden farm clothes to baby onesies. We particularly like the Speed Perfect function which reduces a normal cottons wash to one hour and the eco mode when we're not in a hurry. Also very happy with the woollens cycle and water efficiency, particularly because we use our own tank water. The delayed start is a good option for night time and means your clothes aren't left sitting in the machine for hours on end when you're not home.
We couldn't justify a Miele but very happy with this machine.

Not sure I can trust this washing machine again
Have a Bosch (home professional) its about 14 months old. Today (Saturday of course) the washer decided to display error 23 and emptied its contents of water all through the laundry and passage carpet (new house). Washing is stuck inside and despite following all the recommendations can't get the door to open - so washing needs to sit inside until at least Monday. Even though this is under warrantee I am not sure I could trust it again to wash when I'm not at home. After reading other reviews it seems I'm not the only one to experience this problem. Have spent all day trying to get the water out of our new carpet. Would like to get a more reliable washing machine

etc, Regardless of this surely a washing machine should not pour out its entire contents of water onto expensive flooring. I accept that things can go wrong with machinery and for it to stop working and give an error code, but its not acceptable for a machine to flood like this. Is Bosch going to accept responsibility for future carpet replacements / or drying? I doubt it. As stated earlier there are other online reports of this model of washing machine doing the same thing.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good performance
This was a replacement machine for my WAY32540 which had ongoing issues and Bosch agreed to replace, you can find a review of that in the WAY32540 section.
I use my machine with Bosisto's washing liquid, stain remover and will soak in a sink in something like Sard if I really have to. I do not use softeners in any way as the scrud these create just coats and clogs your machine (one of the reasons I had to change the old F&P top loader).

Issues
There seemed to be an few recurring issues with this model when you read the reviews and talk to owners.
1. The clothes would come out harder than they should, in some instances towels could almost stand on their own. This appeared to me to be caused by not enough water being used in the cycles.
2. Clothes would experience wear that was beyond any normal, expected and acceptable level. I had towels that you could see through in areas as the fibers had been stressed too much and there were catches in the clothing everywhere. This appeared ...Read more
to be the result of the drum design in conjunction with the low water levels. The drum has a raised dimple with the water escape holes drilled into it. The clothes drop onto the dimples to clean the clothes but since they are wet and not floating in water, they smash onto the dimple causing damage from what I could determine. I spent 6 months of dealing with Bosch Customer service who are professional and the Technicians who are the same but few and far between, I got a replacement WAY32790 since this model was discontinued. (read review of that for a better experience). Bosch need to have more qualified people on the ground and have far better Q&A on their designs or the brand will suffer.1 comment

Do not buy a Bosch front loader
Our washing machine is not even a year old. So far, the front door seal has ripped ($360 with service call) and now the washer won't drain due to a 'blockage'. To make a long story short, I now have a bleeding hand, a broken drain pump screw and a flooded laundry. It appears, from the many dozens of websites and forums that I wish I had read before I bought this very ordinary washer, that it is impossible to remove the drainage screw if anything larger than a piece of fluff is stuck in the drain. That means, if you accidentally wash any clothin...Read more
g that has coins in the pocket or bras with underwire that might come loose and make their way into the washing, your machine will seize up and be useless. Despite the tutorials online that make the process look simple, the one glaring oversight is that if anything large or solid makes its way into the pump, you're stuffed! No doubt this will cost me many hundreds of dollars to remove the coin (or whatever it is) and repair the extremely flimsy screw cover to the drainage pump. So infuriated. And this is not the only review I've written about my pigeon pair Bosch washer and dryer. They're sub-standard. Go for something else.4 comments

Customers be aware
I purchased this late January 2015 with extra 3 year warranty,, I had to call for a service as it was leaking, the rubber rim had a tear in. According to Bosch and I was told this applies to all front loaders, this part is not covered by the warranty why? Because when taking the clothes out of the machine you drag the clothes out and this is what causes the tear. We were never told of this when looking at front loader washing machines.
Furthermore they are aware of this, should they not put a better quality seal in their machine to prevent this.
Has anyone out there had a similar issue with their front loader? I would appreciate your response

hi. just like to know why our newly bought and installed waw28460au connected only to the cold tap please?
2 answers
Bosch moved to cold water inlet only in their models Aquascure water inlets years ago. The manual confirms this. They use the heating element in the washing machine to precisely heat the water to the required temperature, as the hot water inlets are variable in temperature and often take a while to heat up.
Thank you heaps!

Hi, I purchased the WAY32891AU from Appliance Online about a month ago and was checking the manual to see how I can access the additional programs.
On closer inspection I noticed the image on the website shows a ‘Towel’ program on the main dial under Shirts.
My machine does not have Towel feature at all on the main dial or under the Additional Programs.
Also, looking at the manual I don’t have the following programs: Lingerie, Kidswear, Outdoor, Down Wear, Outdoor/Waterproofing and Sportswear.
I called Appliance Online and they were confused about the image showing something different to what’s on the actual machine.
Hopefully I haven’t purchased a older model.
Regards,
Jess
