My blade stops about 1 cm above the trench and the laser marking is also approximately 1cm too far to the left. The transport lock is disengaged and the depth stop is all the way up. The blade isn’t loose either. I haven’t started dismantling the machine yet, as I’m hoping to get advice here. Any ideas?

My laser light is not working, I've tried dismantling the unit, there doesn't seem to be any power to the light, would it be a globe or whatever it is?

There is a 'transport safety lock's #34 in my user guide. You need to slightly depress the main handle to take the load off the locking pin then pull the pin to the right. If it will not move or is very tight you may be pressing too hard on the main handle.
The transport safety pin rotates into an off position so it doesn't automatically re-engage when you make a cut.

How can I adjust the position of the laser light?

GracieBosch Power Tools
Hi Shayne,
The laser light is adjusted when you adjust the tool itself. When you change the bevel or mitre angle, the laser is positioned correctly so that you know exactly where the blade will go.
Otherwise, if you're talking about the position of the laser unit, this is fixed in place.
Hope this answers your question. Otherwise let me know and I can try to assist further.
Cheers, Hayley.

I bought the PCM 1800 SD a month ago from Mitre10 in Auckland.
One problem - the saw dust does not go into the bag provided. Saw dust ejects at the back of the saw and goes everywhere except into the bag.
What would your suggestion be?
Thanks JJ

yeah! the machine is simply full of problems, I find more every time I use the damn thing, I am not sure what you could do about the dust ejection and collection system as it stands apart from attaching a vacuum to the dust port, as it stands it blasts all the dust straight into the laser guide and blinds it after a while, what a well thought out piece of kit!!!!, maybe it is time to invest in a dust collection system, small ones aren't that expensive, make one yourself out of a paint bucket (look up Mathias Wandel dust collection on you tube, he has some good ideas, I cant see any way of altering the chop saw to collect all the dust as it stands

Placing a Straight Edge against the Fence, on my PCM1800SD Saw, it is fairly obvious that both sides do not make a straight line.
Therefore making a 90 degree cut is impossible. How can this be rectified?

It's my best guess that you have a worn blade locking nut. When replacing the blade, check the front and rear locking nuts that clamp the blade in place, if there is any wear marks (like I had on mine) you need to buy a new front and rear nut at about $15 each side, from either Bosch or your local repairer.
The Fence (15) is at right angle to the Blade and I cannot see how your answer is relevant.

Blade stops spinning when it hits the timber, takes a long time to stop spinning once turned off?

Your question was: Blade stops spinning when it hits the timber, takes a long time to stop spinning once turned off? To answer the first I would initially check the tensioning nut that holds blade in place and if loose tighten it very well, also check for blade wobble to see if bearings are an issue. the second question answer is I think your electric brake system is faulty. Good Luck
Thank you Jack. Yes you are right. I eventually attempted to this, what made me reluctant was the strange noise and the for-ever running blade, thinking there might be something wrong with the mechanics etc. I have only used this saw a few times and didn't expect a loose blade to be the issue, after everything was set up by the factory. But all good now, thank you again for your response. Stephan
Also thanks to Product Review, I found you by chance, what a neat opportunity to get assistance when needed.
